Chapter 17 - Nostredame Reaper
----------------------------------------
Fifty miles from the Town of Tal, a person wearing a black duster longcoat walked on an encirclement located in the middle of the forest. The moment this man step in the camp, every man in the scene glance at him, his long black hair fluttered with the cold wind, as if a grim reaper arrived.
"No way...why is he here?"
"EVERYONE FUCKING RUN!"
Screams sounded out out from the ones who recognized the reaper before they started to run. The others were a bit confused, on why would they need to run. In their minds, it is only one man that poses no threat to them. Or so what they think. Because as one of the bandits took out a sword and attack the reaper.
His hand flew up to the sky.
His decapitated head followed.
All it took was a simple flick of the reaper's right hand.
The reaper was able to kill that bandit without any trouble.
The Reaper's sword flowed blood down to the tip. Dripping blood, he dragged the cleaver sword and started to run towards the bandits that are in the encirclement.
As he dashes, the bandits who didn't take the hint tried to defend themselves.
They weren't even able to defend when they saw their wrists gushing blood after seeing a glint of light.
Confusion struck their heads but before long, a quick swipe of a hand, made the bandits head rotate up to the sky. The bandits weren't sure what just happen but they know that they just got killed.
The Reaper swipes his cleaver sword and dispersed the blood on it. Focusing at the running bandits, the Reaper moved his legs and swiftly ran like thunder towards the bandits.
Killing them one by one, the whole forest turned into a bloody mess as the Reaper finished his work.
It is a clean work.
Not a single stain of blood on him.
The Reaper sighed deeply. He looked at one of the trees and gripped his cleaver sword tightly.
"Whoa, whoa, stop there!"
A voice echoed out on the tree. A person jumped out of and moved towards the Reaper while putting his hands up in the air.
"Calm down there..." he said.
"A Lin Scout." The Reaper glanced at the insignia that peeks out of his vest.
"Ah shit." the person said, knowing that he fucked up.
"So why is a scout of Lin here in this forest?"
"To look out for the bandits." he smiled wearily, "but I guess that's already done now isn't it?"
"It is." said the Reaper.
"As always you are a monster, Sir Julian. I am glad that you are on our side."
"I am not on anyone's side."
"Then I am glad that we are not enemies at least."
".........."
Julian sheathed his cleaver sword and crossed his arms.
"Is that all you have to say?"
"I don't know what you are trying to say."
"Your purpose on why you are in this forest."
Julian moved his hand towards the neck of the scout of Lin.
Pulling him up, Julian's cold eyes pointed at the scout of Lin, the Scout of Lin felt an overwhelming fear as the Reaper stare down at him.

"Please stop I am willing to talk."
The Reaper let his grip off and spoke. "Then talk every detail why you are here."
"A noble...called me to be here. He told me to kill the bandits and take the mysterious item that the bandits stole from a merchant."
"A mysterious item?"
"Yes, according to the noble who originally bought the item, It is a black thin box that is fitted with a panel of glass. The Noble who ordered it wanted to find it for him, along with the other items they bought from two thugs."
"Where are these items?"
"It should on one of the bandit's corpses."
Hearing that, Julian scoured the corpses for the items that the scout of Lin was looking for. For ten minutes, he searched every pocket and belongings until he found the items.
"Is this it?" he showed them to scout of Lin.
"Yes...may I take it?"
"No."
Julian refused and took out the one that the scout of Lin was holding. It was indeed a black box with a screen fitted on one of the sides. Next, Julian took out a gray box with a dotted panel fitted on one side. The weirdest thing about it was the rubber-like rope, which has metal on the tip. Next, is an item that has a little circular tube on it, Julian peeked on the square glass and at first thought it some kind of binoculars.
"What are these things?"
"Beats me, the items according to the buyer were the one they took from some dumb mute who fainted on the streets."
"A dumb mute...wait a minute." Julian thought as he remembered something. "Then shouldn't this belong to that guy who worked at the Orient Inn?"
"Huh?" said the Scout of Lin.
"The dumb mute...yeah, it seems like he fits."
Julian has already investigated the one working in the Orient Inn. What he found out what the person was a beggar who was known as a dumb mute, for his inability to speak the language and at the face he eats thrown away organs. That is all that he heard about that man. Aside from that, there is nothing left to be uncovered. As if he just suddenly appeared out of thin air.
"Wait for a second Sir Julian!" said the scout, "My lord already bought these items! I can't let you have it!"
"And you’re going to stop me?" said Julian.
"No, but Sir Julian, the noble who told me to bring it back will surely kill me if I don't!"
"Then tell him this." Julian coldly stared at the scout. "That Julian Nostredame has reclaimed the items. If he has problems with it, then he can try to take it from me. Or even send his private army. I don't care if he does because your lord would surely know that I can just kill them all, so how about that?"
"I..."
"I am glad that we agreed."
Julian pocketed the strange items on his backpack. Then, he took out a small bag towards the scout and said.
"Take this. Have a good day and be careful. The road is still filled with monsters and beasts."
Saying that, Julian disappeared from the scout's line of sight, at first, this reaper was heading to the City of Gayan for something that he would like to finish off. But with the items in hand, he thought that he should return it, simply to get some favor for the one who owns the items.
But mostly, he just wants an excuse to visit the Inn that a friend of his, established.
