Chapter 116 – Idled At
----------------------------------------
Ramiel found himself cooking in his house. Lately his limping got better, his infection on throat also got less troublesome. He thinks that he somehow recovered, but he didn’t want to get ahead of himself and be disappointed so he keeps the expectations that the disease of his will be back. It gives him a peace of mind that way.
Currently, he is taking care of the beef and corn combo dish he is making. Back in the days at his house, since no one is usually there, either they are work or school, Ramiel has to learn cooking. So in other words, he at least knows how to cook. This recipe, in particular, was just a simple recipe he learned from watching his grandma once. He used to enjoy such fine dishes along with his grandma, but well that is impossible now.
Ramiel stirred the pot he was using. He took out a bowl and scooped out the insides. Doing this repeatedly he filled his bowl with all the corn and beef. Taking the bowl with him to the table and putting it on top. Ramiel sat crossed legged on the carpeted floor and started eating the dish he made.
As he did a figure entered his house.
“Looks like you are eating?” Raul said.
“I am, and you look like you got something for me?”
“Here are the promised rabbit legs, and a bit of hog meat.”
“That sounds great...thank you.”
“No problem man...”
Saying that, Raul went outside and took a left, Ramiel glance at the sun before going back to eating his bowl of corn and meat, he enjoyed it. Scoping the food with a wooden spoon, putting it into his mouth, Ramiel remembered his days back in the world. It gives him a bit of nostalgia, making him wearily smile.
As he happily eats his bowl of corn and meat, a person went inside with the usual smug grin. Ramiel looked up at the person, his mouth turns into a frown as he blankly eats his food right in front of her.
“What do you want now?”
“Hey now, shouldn’t you be happy that you are getting visited?”
“Sure Peronell, but please wipe that shit eating grin, please. I am eating here, and it makes my appetite go away.”
“What are you eating?”
Peronell kneeled on both of her legs as she put her hands on top of the table, leaning on the bowl of corn and meat Ramiel is eating. She looks at the bow, took a sniffed, and somehow pulled a spoon out of her pockets to scoop some.
“Hey what the fuck are you doing??”
“Hmm, this is...pretty okay,” Peronell said. “Didn’t know you can cook like this and this is pretty good too.”
“I thank you for the compliment but it doesn’t mean you are excused for rudely eating in my bowl.”
“Grumpy as ever aren’t you? Have you gotten outside, took the sun yet?”
“Already did that. Also, answer me, why did you have a wooden spoon with you?”
“Because I have gone done eating at Old Heralda’s house?”
“And yet here you are, eating some people’s food.”
Ramiel sighs as he continued his eating. He really doesn’t hate Peronell, in fact, he welcomed the annoying friend of his that keep bugging him. Her loudness, and the rather cherry, smug attitude she has kept Ramiel feel like he isn’t alone.

“What are you staring at?” Peronell said this, her eyes dilating under the gazing eyes of Ramiel.
“Nothing, I just find myself slightly overjoyed at your presence milady. It helps the negative thoughts away.”
“What are you saying suddenly?”
“Nothing much, you and Raul have been giving me great company, and I ain’t that much of an asshole to not notice that.”
Peronell tilted her head, her frown turning into a smug grin. “Wow, you have a side where you can be grateful? I am shocked!”
“Shut it; let me be kind for once.”
“Well, it doesn’t really matter,” Peronell said. “Almost no one other than Raul, Abby, Pablo and the local guards can be talked with in this village. Most of the people here are aged, or at least have husband and wives. So who else other than us would talk? Besides, the village is small, we are family here.”
“I see...” Ramiel liked what she said.
“Still though, a real family would be understanding and hand over someone’s house” she added.
“Haha, nice try Peronell...”
“You laugh, that is creepy.”
“ha ha hahaha,” Ramiel laugh dryly without any expression.
“Gah that even more atrocious than ever,” Peronell commented.
“So may I ask why you are here again?” Ramiel continued eating his bowl of corn and meat. Unknowingly, Peronell took out a small bowl and seeing it Ramiel unconsciously gave some to her. They talked randomly at first, but Peronell cut to the chased.
“I saw an ogre.”
“An ogre...is that bad?”
“Well the encampment will take care of it, but they want us to help. They expect deliverance to be there.”
“Deliverance?”
“Some suicidal cult, they probably are out making troubles again for the nation again. They always have this bullshit about some end of the world thing that will happen soon.”
“I see, and the encampment wants us to help?”
“Yes, primarily because that those idiots might summon ogres and make them run over the village. That would be a disaster...”
“And you want me to help?”
“Well, you are a good healer...and you might be able to help in the fighting. Don’t worry though; I already coaxed Raul and Abby to go with us. The local guards will also help so no need to worry. And if it comes to it I will save you!”
“Hmm, what’s the pay?”
“A thousand gold for each participant, which is quite generous, I don’t really need the money, but just needs to do this in order for the threat to be quelled.”
“That much?”
“Yes, so how about it, will you join?”
“I do need the money, so why not?”
“Great, meet us at the gates, we will depart tomorrow morning, bring your weapons.”
“Got it, I will try to join.”
“Then I am off for now. Thanks for the food.”
Peronell wiped her lips, as she stood up and left Ramiel’s house.
Ramiel left alone in his own house, and then finished his bowl of corn and beef. It was delicious and it seems like Ramiel will have more if he participates in this raid.
