Chapter 43 – Sunny Days
----------------------------------------
Ramiel’s days become a lot busier. With him working in the Inn when he needs to, he also has to constantly learn about the language of the land. So his time schedule became: work in the Inn, learn the language, and capture images.
So during the day, he worked hard at the Inn. During noon, he would go to the lady’s house to learn the language for an hour before going outside of the house to capture the specific images that the lady wanted to see.
The Lady was getting better at understanding the language. She was a natural and seeing how eloquent she was towards the language made Ramiel feel envy. So in a way, he was forced to work harder than usual.
As for the images that he needs to capture for the lady, it was becoming harder. There are also times that the lady wants Ramiel to capture the scenery outside. But Ramiel would refuse obviously because of the danger. Ramiel thought that the lady would be angry at his refusal but surprisingly, the lady was calmed.
Ramiel would occasionally meet with Gundry too. Gundry himself was getting sketchier in Ramiel’s mind. When he arrives in the house of the lady, he would find that Gundry was not there. He finds it weird that Gundry would be too trusting towards Ramiel, which makes Ramiel still feel skeptic about his reasons.
But despite that, Ramiel has already let his guard down towards the lady, he sees her as sort of the only outlet he has in this world. He was polite, talkative and expressive to Lady Aubrey than the people he met. It is due to the fact that Ramiel can speak to her.
It was easy and communication towards other is a big factor. Ramiel does sometimes, feel close his co-worker. He would sometimes assist Desha despite his inability to talk with her. Of course, spending time with just women doesn’t just sit right to him. So sometimes he would visit the only guy he know in the town who is willing to tolerate him.
Specifically, this guy is Delo. He is Ramiel’s only contact with this town. They would not understand each other, and even though he still has to pay Delo an amount of silver coins for his medicine. He doesn’t mind Ramiel at all, simply because he wasn’t noisy. Of course, he won’t be since he cannot speak the language that well.
Ramiel does manage to sometimes talk to Delo. Only a few words though. Since cooperating with Lady Aubrey, he managed to speak a bit now. Of course, his is still speak like a toddler, and even with that, there is a bit of understanding as time passes.

Summer was hot and burning. The leaves are dry, the people are sweating. The roads are filled with a heat haze. And the sunlight feels like it would pierce the skin. Imagine a pot of boiling water, and it is poured upon your skin. That is how hot the weather is if one would stay under the summer sun.
The Farmers of the Town of Tal see this phenomenon different though. To them, this is a blessing by the Sun God Auro. And the presence of the sun, that makes their wheat grow. The worshippers of the sun also praise the sun. It is their duty to appease the deity.
Of course despite the blazing hot weather that the town of Tal experiences—there is no sign of drought. It is partly due to the blessing of the sun god that such phenomenon doesn’t happen.
Also, during the summer, the farmers were quite sneaky. They would use the dots of water lights from the river and make use of it to water their crops. It is a method that was originally from the elven race. But since it was useful, the farmers did not care about cultural pride and harness the water sprites. Of course to make use of such water sprites the farmers had to appease them. It is quite a sight how farmers do this. Just by offering crops and water embedded with mana that the farmers could appease the sprites.
Of course, embedding water with mana isn’t an easy task. They have to pay a fortune, for a mage with a skill to put their mana on the water they offer. And solely because of this that despite the blazing sun that many magus would come to the land with caravans.
Ramiel met such Magus during his roaming around. And even he somehow managed to know all about the fiasco when talking to Lady Aubrey. In terms of the world that he is in, Ramiel managed to know what continent he is on. Lady Aubrey was bored enough to tell him that he is living in the Hillines continent. There are four major continents along with small islands, but the three continents are constantly embroiled in chaos.
Only the dungeon continent is the worse victim to chaos. In that place, there are only adventurers constantly trying to root out of the country size dungeon that is considered as the source of malice of the world. The dungeon continent is said to be a dungeon itself. So taking it down is no small matter.
Hearing this made Ramiel feel scared. A dungeon; in his mind is considered to be a layer filled with monsters. So hearing that a dungeon that is a big as a continent made him want to hide under a rock, it was too scary for him and he thinks that he won’t be going there.
Not like he would ever get the chance anyway. Ramiel thought of himself as poor, and even going outside of the Town almost killed him. So going to a new continent that is constantly at war with monsters is a big NO to Ramiel.
