Chapter 34 – Dreamy room

----------------------------------------

Ramiel never knew what happened after his lights went out. Suddenly, he found himself in a familiar room, a room where he stayed years staring at a screen with bloodshot eyes. Self-torturing himself over some mistake that was made during at the time he was still in high school.

Ramiel would have fooled himself that he was back in his world if it wasn’t for the gray filter all around him. Aside from the screen, there was no color in the room. It made him feel like it was always like this, and ever since he can remember. The world looked black and white to him.

Ramiel felt like he was down on his luck back then. A freeloader that does nothing but caged himself away from the world that was not nice to him. The room was a safe space for Ramiel.

Ramiel stood still around this room. He looked at the clothes strewn everywhere. Garbage can that hasn’t been thrown out for a while, and the curtains covering the window, not even letting any light inside. The screen was only the source of light inside the room.

Ramiel uneasily scanned his room. As he looks at the room, he spotted the family picture of his family. Picking it up, he was quite surprised how the faces of his family have been ripped out. Putting it down, he stared at the tickets to the cruise ship and lamented.

He researched the island. He knew what he was up to and even with that. He would never have expected that he would be thrown into a world of despair where he would be forced to do the unthinkable. To act like some animal is certainly not what Ramiel was expecting.

To think that the ‘cure’ and ‘healing’ recommended to him would turn out to be some kind of nightmare. Ramiel felt frustrated that such things happened. And if anything, grabbing those tickets, boarding the cruise ship and letting himself drown with that ship has become his biggest regret.

If anyone would ask Ramiel if he likes living in the new world; he would say no. He doesn’t really like the world, and if anything if it wasn’t for the last connection he has, the camera. Ramiel would have long lost his sanity. It keeps him hold up to the memories. Like a chain that binds him.

Ramiel would choose his world rather than the new world he is in. That is why as he stays in the dream gray room of depression. He smirked and told himself to wake up from this dream.

But instead of waking up, Ramiel saw a familiar face. A familiar delusion of him that keeps him occupied during his tiring days inside the room. A tulpa he imagined, a fragment of imagination that he brought to life to accompany himself. That is why seeing the familiar delusion of himself that is much better than him, appearing in front of his eyes. Ramiel could not help but call out to his tulpa.

“Ludak?”

But as he spoke those words, the room started to crumble. Thus Ramiel fell on the bottom of an abyss.

...

Ramiel woke up in the room as he expected to be. He was quite cynical about his chances of returning back to his world. So sadly he understood all of it, and now he is here.

It was already morning. He scanned the room and saw the lady calmly sleeping on the floor. Ramiel thought she must have felt tired too, and just fall asleep. Contented with the barrier she placed upon around herself. Ramiel sighs at the looked at the sleeping beauty in front of her. Turning to his wrist, he saw the brand of text on his wrist dissipated. Then, he turned to the paper he was working and was relief that all the letters corresponding to the alphabet matched.

He was familiar with the letters. But it didn’t mean that he was right either. Honestly, Ramiel wasn’t confident that he did it properly.

Well, I did what I could. If it is wrong, then so be it. It is not like I am the master of the language. If I was, then I would be actually conversing with people now.

Thinking that inside his head, Ramiel went and rolled the paper towards the lady’s side.  As he does that, he turns the door, pushes it and went outside of the lady’s room. Passing through the hallways, and then walking down the stairs, Ramiel saw a familiar burly man walking.

Striding towards Gundry, he held up his right palm towards him. Gundry tilted his head in wonder what Ramiel wants. But as the torch lights up above Gundry’s head, he asked Ramiel, through gestures if he did what he was asked. Ramiel just raises a thumbs up and then held his palms open again.

Gundry, however, glanced at this wrist. And after inspecting it, Gundry raised his thumb too and took out a bag of silver coins. Dropping it on Ramiel, Gundry bowed his head and went out of Ramiel’s perspectives.

Ramiel then opened the bag. It contained about enough to allow him to take the medicines that the healer named Delo makes. Pursing the bag, he went out of the residence of the lady and went walking down the streets, letting the sun permeate through his skin.

Early in the morning, the whole street where the noble lives were quite silent. Ramiel could see the rather luxurious food that the nobles are eating. And seeing this made his stomach grumble loudly. Patting his stomach, Ramiel thought.

I really need some food. I hope that Felli left some food for me. I rather like my breakfast free. And Felli really does a good job in cooking.

Ramiel taps his palm with like a hammer.

Then walking down the street, descending down the hill, Ramiel spotted the business street and turned to the direction of the Inn first. He wanted to eat first, before buying the medicines at Delo the Healer’s place.
