Chapter 114 – Den and Flasks

----------------------------------------

Ramiel found himself in a soil mount overlooking a robber’s den. Along with him were the local guards of the village, Raul, and Peronell who was focusing her magick bow at the entrance. She is currently on top of a free, eyeing with eagle-like eyes to make sure that the local guards will be able to do their job.

Ramiel is here to provide tactical support and healing. Strategic support from him is also welcome because apparently most of the local guards know his exploits just to enter the borders of Gann. So right now, they are doing it how Ramiel wants to do it.

Smoke the guards out, and have Peronell snipe them. So at the moment, Raul, who Ramiel just saw pour oil on the robber’s den quickly sneakily run towards their position. He took cover near Ramiel, Ramiel, who was feeling a bit better, nodded at Raul as he gestures for Peronell to shoot a fire arrow.

Peronell muttered a quick chant. Doing so made the magick bolt she was pulling back lit up in flames, she pulled the energy strings of the bow magick bow, and let it fly towards where the oil has been poured. Flames started to rose up, and smoke then entered the robber’s den.

Ramiel and the others waited on what will happen. Raul has already scouted the den, so he was sure that there was no other entrance. So when the doors suddenly burst open, the coughing bandits went out in the open. Seeing this, Peronell grinned, as she started to chant another bolt.

This time Peronell fired seeker bolts that hit most of the bandits. With how many the bandits were, Peronell only managed to kill three. With the other bandits injured, the local guards quickly rushed out, while Raul draws his bow in an attempt to cover for them.

Ramiel stayed behind in the soil mount in cover. He wasn’t that great in combat so he leaves it to the others to fight. He was here to mostly heal them when they get injured, so he waiting for them to be done was acceptable. He observed the local guards fight they were great and more experienced than the shabby bandits.

Peronell is a markswoman, so she was able to take down anyone that tries to finishes off the others. Raul is competent too, and the way he fights with his bow drawn, and at the same time using the tip of his arrow as a dagger made Raul especially deadly.

The fight is going well, but with twenty or more dead bandits, the leader of the Den was bound to appear. So when this figured appeared, wielding a mace and a shield, the local guards formed into a formation. But the leader was someone who knows a bit of enchantment magic and using this magic, his weapons went ablaze and there was a scary aura that the leader emits.

Ramiel heard Peronell clicking her tongue up the tree. She draws another magick arrow, and tried to snipe the leader only for her shot to be reflected, and countered back to Peronell. She managed to roll out of the tree, landing like a gentle cat on the ground.

She wiped the blood off her face and draws another bolt. Ramiel stared expressionlessly at Peronell; she was someone that came from the dungeon continent, so he expected her to be this fierce. Ramiel still didn’t do anything, he watched the local guards trying to fight the leader, Peronell was also trying to shot the leader but it was useless with his magick enchantments up.

Ramiel pondered what to do, he grabs his chin, thought deeply and just nonchalantly casted holy chains right at the leader. Before he knew it, Ramiel was already walking as he holds the chains, he then charged his elemental bracer, stunned the leader, and slightly walked faster at the kneeled leader. Ramiel was feeling so empty, he looked at the downed leader which he sneaked attack with holy chains plus a volt stun from his elemental bracer.

The local guards retreated when they say the holy chains. Raul also pointed his arrow at the leader, while Peronell dashes five feet away from the leader and Ramiel.

Ramiel noticed that the leader was slowly recovering, there was no take them alive order, so he tried to stab the leader only to find his hidden blade being stopped by the leader’s skin. The leader was grinning, Ramiel was still calm as he forms a protection aura on his palm, and then made barrier in form of a bowl, and using this barrier, Ramiel closed it in on the leader’s mouth and slowly gathered the incompatible energy of his and mix it with the energy around to him to form a sphere of gray and violet.

The sphere then suddenly erupted like canon fire, as it then blew the leader’s head, leaving blood and brain matter to splatter on the doors of the Den. Ramiel felt the recoil and he was drained.

Ramiel kneeled, and he panted. Raul who saw what Ramiel did pat his shoulder and helped him take a seat somewhere. While Ramiel was resting, Raul and Peronell were helping the local guards. They were administering medicine on them and he could see that they are letting them drink this gray liquid.

This gray liquid that is usually stored on flask was what they used to treat an infection. Ramiel was quite a fool not to use this liquid solution, he saw it on the fighter’ guild a lot but since he was really moody there, he didn’t manage to know what it is. So when he finally learned about it, he immediately bought three flasks at the store and drank it. Doing so made his throat infection, and his limping quite a bit better. Ramiel knows that it won’t heal him up immediately and there might be a chance that it won’t really work, but nonetheless it still worked.

Heck, he can even participate in the raid merely because of the medicine.

That is why, despite still being a bit fatigued and in pain, it could be said that he was feeling better. Though as he sits around, Ramiel wearily smiled, thinking that maybe if he actually asked around in the town of tal back then, then his ailment wouldn’t have been this worse.

Still, it was too late for regrets, and now he was doing a bit bitter than usual.
