Chapter 142 – Will of Protection 2
----------------------------------------
There is a legend known deeply at the hearts of the people all over the land. Whether it is the dungeon continent, the savage lands or even the Hillines would know of a single legend passed by mouth or through prophetic dreams. A dark lord will come bearing a curse upon the world.
This dark lord will turn the land black. The sun will barely be seen, and the sky would turn blood red. And the world will suffer at the hands of the beings that will come and rush upon the world. And at the same time, the old Heroes of the past will bring light and order to the world.
This prophecy was merely a prophetic guess passed by Gods. Yet, in the twist of nature, the strongest Hero, who tried protecting the world from a crazed demoness turned out to be the one that would enact the play of legend the Gods crafted out of muse.
It turns out the Gods are crazier than the people thought.
...
So the bishop who uttered the words out of fear, and the folks who knew the legend by heart could understand that by the signs above that indeed legend told by mouth in their young days would be this. It was no mistake, and knowing this legend they became weary.
In the legend speaks of the dark lord that cursed the world. Along with his curse were the shaking of the ground, the red sky and finally the appearance of monsters that will come from warp gates. The monsters, however, didn’t appear it wasn’t because of the warp gates not functioning. It was because of the curse of the world, which would summon out the lesser beings that Julian tried to prevent, he only manages to seal the higher beings but despite that, the lesser beings were not weak.
Julian thinks that they are lesser beings, but for the people, they were monsters of a higher caliber. So these monsters are supposed to be coming out on balls of light, yet at the moment no curse tainted the open fields that the various people stood upon.
It wasn’t because a miracle arrived. In fact, it was more because of one person who is loved by curses slowly absorbed, mutating the curses into his own body. This made Ramiel had the curse on him ache, the curse on right arm however mutated, infecting his inside, as if turning his internal body into that of ebony wood. His flesh was still meat, yet it was slowly mutating.
At the same time, the curse lingering made Ramiel feel even more deranged, he could see words floating around him and all of them were single-minded words that cared only for Peronell’s protection. Single-minded will fill Ramiel, yet there were no changes, only bitter curses.
The surrounding was still quite silent after the bishop said those words. The dark omens in the sky didn’t seize, in fact, the breaking of the seal formation that kept the city warm was the only sound they could hear at the moment. The cry of death followed, and the crumbling city of Soren sounded out.

“What is happening...?”
Ramiel asked lightly. Peronell who was at his side looked at Ramiel, yet with her perception open, she could see tons of curse placed upon Ramiel to the point she almost shouted in fear. She knew the dark lord’s curse upon the world, yet to think that Ramiel would bear the curse that should have cursed the land they are standing. She couldn’t help but feel pity at Ramiel, her face saddened at Ramiel’s fate.
The open fields didn’t get tainted with the curse. But in the distance, the warp gates that were foretold in the legends appeared before them. In fact, in every part of the world at the moment were having warp gates appear. From the Town of Tal’s outside walls, the Kingdom of Lin’s Cities, the Kingdom of Deus, Trapolstan and the non-humans continents were filled with warp gates.
In every warp gate, there was a being that allowed the lesser monsters to be littered everywhere. The Dark Elven lands were sealed and now it could be said that the higher beings are implanted there, trapped by Julian, who is now mistaken to be the dark lord.
As these warp gates appear, the crumbling town of Soren echoed screams of despair. The magus that was on the ruined buildings started defending themselves as the swarms of monsters gather. The people in the open fields saw that the feared but the bishop using his high mana created a barrier and started instructing every people to get ready to fight.
Ramiel grabbed hold of the shortsword behind his waist; he draws it while keeping an eye towards Peronell. Meanwhile, Peronell finally wakes up a bit of her daze finally getting a hold of herself. She readied her conjured bow, which made the people who saw it felt quiet, assured.
A Ninth Rank Magick Archer was quite a great asset at the moment. Most of the people from the dungeon continent are strong, and the lesser beings that are currently entrapping the world are monsters they usually faced. Peronell didn’t fear one lesser being but she knows it too well that they are dangerous when in a group without any doubt. One misstep would kill her, and she knows this already.
The people on open fields gritted their teeth as the various monsters of abominable nature appear before them. They were grotesque, and out of this world, these lesser beings were grim in nature, and they were far too disgusting to be even called as a monster.
The appearance of these grim monsters that looked like they were butchered meat glued together was disgusting for the people. It is a good thing that Julian sealed most of the monsters that are higher tier inside his seal. If not, the people would have already ten times.
Julian did the world a favor by sealing the higher beings, yet in the end, he wasn’t able to stop the lesser ones causing chaos on the world.
The people readied their weapons, everyone has them and as the grim monsters approach, a wild sound roared and the moment they looked at the source, everyone felt despair. The being that appeared on top of the sky was the monster known as an undead girdled dragon. And it was now attacking the castle of the King of Gann!
