Chapter 78 – Death in the Guild
----------------------------------------
Three people sat silently in the guild master’s office. Randal, Eziel, and Dall waited for any sort of news. The eerie silence of the night made the three uncomfortable, and as the clocks tick on their heads. Loud footsteps resounded on the distance, which slowly approached the door. The door then sounded out as a fist knocked on it!
“Enter.”
Randal said while he narrowed his eyes, he then saw a young man, with a neck length gray hair, broad shoulders, thin face, yet average in both height and weight. This young man was sweating, his dark sleepy gray eyes are dilated. This young adult wearing a rough stubble on his face is Ramiel. Wearing a leather shirt, Ramiel walks limply at Randal’s desk, slammed his palms and said.
“There was someone who attacked me, sir...Hah.”
Ramiel let out a long breath, his teeth clattering. Ramiel’s eye is staring front of Randal glance back at Ramiel and saw that he wasn’t injured.
“What happened?”
“Some fuck tried to kill me!” Ramiel said.
“I see...Eziel, check his office.” Randal ordered.
“Okay.”
“Sit down Ramiel.”
“Yes...”
Ramiel staggered through the chair, he rested his elbow on his thighs, breathing heavily. Dall who is in the room look worriedly at the obviously distraught Ramiel, it was an obvious reaction of someone who encountered danger. Silence happened again in the room, aside from Ramiel’s groaning, there was no sound that escaped in the room.
Dall fidgets her fingers at the silence. Randal stayed composed as he observes Ramiel in a new light. He never thought that he would survive honestly. He was quite pessimistic at his prospect. His head swirled in thoughts, as he eagerly waits for Eziel to report back.
Meanwhile, Ramiel who is staring on the floor finally calm down. Instead of whining, he bit his lips instead and glances at the two inside the room. He was quite nervous on what to say to them, it was his first day as a new hire, yet someone already attacked him. He thought of people that he pissed off, but nonetheless, Ramiel is sure that he didn’t provoke anyone recklessly. He was a passive person, so there was no way he would start things up that would cause annoyance to him.
The room was lit by a two lamps stands, it screened the room with an orange tint, three people breathing in the same room silently made the room’ atmosphere odd. Ramiel felt like time got so slow suddenly, making him restless on the chair.
Randal noticed, but ignored him. Dall also took note, but she didn’t say anything in order to keep the silent mood. At the moment three isn’t able to communicate. Either it is due to the scent of blood in Ramiel, or the small yet noticeable groaning he lets out.

Ramiel stayed restless as time passes, his small movements, his stormy head, his nervousness was getting more obvious. Then finally, the silence broke with the door slowly being opened, and Eziel, who went to check Ramiel’s office appeared with a frown on his face.
“Boss, it seems we got trouble.”
...
The moment he said those words, Randal suddenly felt nervous, he followed Eziel back to Ramiel’s designated office only to see it flooded with blood. He saw the thug he hired laying in cold blood, his mouth widely open, his eyes looking up, his throat disfigured, and if anything, the look of the corpse was rather vomit-inducing. Randal could see the shady man’s jaws tore up, his throat was shredded, but Randal wasn’t able to see any sign of a weapon that was used.
“As you could see, the man Sir Boss ordered is dead. His face fucked up, and brutally killed right in the guild’s office.”
“How did he do this?”
“You saw that elemental bracer on his left hand? He probably somehow did all of this just with that alone. Look at the thug, his face is slightly burned, and is slightly wet. I rather not compliment it, but he is damn creative with that thing.”
“I see...” Randal narrowed his eyes as he kneeled on the ground, and looked closely at the thug lying on the floor. His face crumpled, knowing that his expectations were crushed.
“This is bad.”
“Or tell me how bad is it, sir, is it because he actually murdered someone in the guild or the fact that the guy we use to initiate our new members is now brutally dead?” Eziel said.
“Damn, to think he would actually kill him...”
“I admit that we underestimated him, he was after all noticed coming from Tinople City, and even though he looks like that, he is still young. Probably looks old because of strain, but either way, voala he is healthy enough to overpower an old street thug with a club.”
Randal put his palm on his face, and he didn’t expect this situation at all. In his mind, the thug was only supposed to test Ramiel and examined his ability to deal with the thug. His miscalculation was that Ramiel actually killed the thug whose only goal was to knock Ramiel out.
“So how are you going to resolve this Boss?” Eziel said.
“I have no idea at the moment. I don’t even know if I should praise Ramiel for this work of his or kick him out for killing a pseudo member of the guild, just imagine the family that this man left behind, and this is because I underestimated a rabid dog.”
“Too bad is it?” Eziel said.
“And you are too numb about this, how about you help me think about this damn it.”
“No way boss, I’m only a blacksmith, nothing more, nothing less.”
Randal ignored Eziel as he said that, he turned to the thug, and just close his eyes. He then used his thumb, and trigger finger to massage his forehead.
The smell of blood will be hard to remove, and with eyes everywhere, Randal knew that this death in the fighter’s guild would be known soon.
