Chapter 146 – Will of Protection 6
----------------------------------------
It took Ramiel a lot of time before he could finally cry out his frustrations. Peronell stayed still and waited for him to calm down. After calming down, Ramiel went and stood up and did what anyone would do at the situation. He gave a tight hug to Peronell. He vowed to protect her with all of his might.
“Don’t worry. I will protect you no matter what.”
“Shouldn’t that be my line? I am far stronger than you.”
“Still I would do so!”
“Fine here you go...”
“What’s this?”
Ramiel held the gem on his palm. It was a circle red gem that is about the size of a pebble. Seeing this gem Ramiel felt a very strange energy emit from this gem.
“This is a gem of revitalization. So when things get tough I hope you use it escape.”
“So is this some sort of tool that you dungeoneers use back in the dungeon continent?”
“It is, it is pretty important here let me give you five. It should allow you to survive. I have ten over me so do not worry and rely on this lovely lady of yours.”
“Yours...”
Ramiel felt tongue tied hearing that. He took the other five gems as he made them easily accessible in the pouch on his belt.
“It sure is noisy outside. Was it really okay for you to stay in this room looking after this lowly me?”
“Can you please stop that unconfident remark of yours? As someone who chooses you, it makes me like I have a bad taste in men.”
“You do have a bad taste in men.”
“Well, you are right with that.”
Peronell stared at him hopelessly. He returned the stare back, making a smug expression along with it. Peronell liked that smug expression he does. She just shrugged her shoulders as she then looked firmly serious.
“The outside is rather terrible. I wonder who the new dark lord of Sanctus is.”
“The Dark Lord...what is that?”
Ramiel said that. Peronell looked at him and asked.
“You don’t know about the legend?”
“What legend?”
Peronell hangs her mouth before explaining what the Legend is. Ramie listened to her sincerely and understood what the gist of it.
“It looks like the world is in danger then. Can we even survive this?”
“Well as long as we are careful then we will. Besides, you will watch my back won’t you dear?”
“Of course I will.”
Ramiel said that with firmly without any hesitation. No way would he ever let the only thing that makes him hope in this world disappear. Ramiel usually is tardy he had no motivation or anything that interests him. But even he can put his mind into something.
Right now even without the floating words that still bother his head. Ramiel would definitely protect Peronell without thinking. So with his heart ready. His mind focused on one thing. Ramiel nodded his head and followed Peronell out of the room.

Outside of the room, Ramiel could see the injured lining up. From adventurers and mages, the priest’s that was led by the Bishop was quite busy in tending to the wounded. Ramiel walks alongside Peronell and as he does he could feel the stare that the adventurers had towards Peronell. It was awe.
“You seem popular.”
“Being a magick archer has its perks. I am the strongest one here after all.
”
“Good to know that.”
Peronell slightly smiled before putting back her fierce expression. Ramie followed her with the same usually blank face but while doing so Ramiel was looking around for anything that could endanger her. It was as if he was obsessed with doing, and at the moment his head was only focused on protecting her.
Passing through the injured and walking to the office of where the Captain is. The two arrive and saw the Bishop, the Captain and a few of his lieutenants discussing the current situation. Seeing Peronell walked in made the Captain and Lieutenant greet her, completely ignoring Ramiel.
Ramiel stood near the wall as they discuss the situation outside. From what Ramiel is hearing, he has discovered that the undead girdled dragon that was fighting in the castle retreated. The Warp Gates around the city has decreased in numbers but it wasn’t stopping from spawning five to ten monsters. Every time they kill the monsters that the warp gates would summon. The Warp Gates would summon up a replacement. So until the warp gates are destroyed then there would be no end of the lesser beings.
The discussion continued without Ramiel being looked at. He just watched quietly by the sides in worry for Peronell. The three were conversing on how to take back the open fields and tend to the injured. There are still people trying to enter the fort but with how things are it would be impossible to accommodate all of them inside the fort.
“What about using the open fields as camp? Surely we could use the magus to make the same walls right?”
Hearing this suggestion the Bishop and the Captain of the fort contemplated for a moment. They thought it was a good idea but there was a problem about the Grim lesser beings. But Peronell who was confident in her strength assured her that as long as she can cast her seeking bolts then the lesser beings would of no problem.
Hearing her confident words made the Captain and Bishop assured. They agreed with what she suggested and deliberately ordered the people inside to get ready. Once they were done, Peronell went back to Ramiel with her thumbs raised up. Ramiel smiled while raising his thumbs back up.
Honestly, without experience, Ramiel could do nothing. He wasn’t some famed adventurer with magical skills, he was just only a human that somehow got into this mess. So he had nothing to contribute about. He was only here because Peronell was here. He didn’t care about anything at the moment other than seeing her safe.
