Chapter 89: Sealing the Gap 2

Chapter 89: Sealing the Gap 2

“This is larger than before. I’m just glad that it grows wider for only a few centimeters.” Reysha said as she measures the Dimensional Crack.

Reysha is currently observing the gaping hole of space and time left by an unexplainable phenomenon when she used World Lapse together with Ivy’s Time Stop.

“I wonder what kind of factor that was included here to tear a hole like this?” Reysha asked herself as she goes around the crack. The only thing she discovered is that it is roughly spherical in shape. Other than that, her and everyone else are clueless.

As she ponders for several seconds, an idea came to her mind and she picked up a stone lying on the ground.

“If this gets worse than I expected, I’ll be damned. A little experiment like this can be really gruesome and dangerous so it’s a little relief that I am the only one here.” She said as she played with the stone on her hand.

As she gathered enough courage, Reysha threw the stone towards the crack. As the stone makes a visible contact with it, she made a huge leap backward and stares at the crack for any changes. If things get dangerous, at the very least, she is far away from it for an escape.

She waits for any reaction from the crack for dozens of seconds.

Nothing…

“Hmm…isn’t it safe to say that this thing won’t explode if something is fed to it? That’s one thing I could actually assure for now. Next is…” Reysha contemplated as she once again approaches the crack. From her dimensional storages comes a long javelin that is taller than her by fifty centimeters.

Reysha lifts the javelin in a thrusting posture. Without second delay she slowly stabs that crack with it. When she and the others inspected it months ago, they never thought of doing anything to it due to being overly cautious.

However, over the past months, Reysha didn’t just have her vacation, she was brooding over it. The javelin is part of it in which it’s length is something she had specifically prepared.

One of the theory that courses throughout her mind are that this crack is actually a hole connected to outer space, however, she doubts it’ll be the case since it will be nothing but a vacuum. She also thought that it might be a wormhole too but that is less likely it.

There are theories regarding quantum physics that Reysha roughly remembers. In the first place, she is in the field of biological science and physics is proven hard for her.

As such, Reysha resolved herself to do some dangerous experiments alone.

The result for the thrusting gave a contrary result from her expectation. She dipped that whole head of the javelin and even tried to pushed it deeper up to its body midway, however, as she pulled it, the javelin is still intact.

Nothing changed.

The smooth texture of iron didn’t change. No particle has been diminished or even imploded. It’s shape, color, or even it’s original component didn’t faze.

From those results alone, Reysha couldn’t do anything but tilt her head and contemplate as confusion started disturbing her mind. The sheer non-reactiveness of the crack alone has far gone contemplatable for her.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

“Perhaps approaching the problem through science won’t solve anything. This thing here is made of magic, so won’t it be appropriate if it is solved by using magic too?” Reysha said as she returns the javelin back to her dimensional storage and made a considerable distance from the crack.

She held out her palm towards the crack once more and fired off a fireball in a size of her fist.

However, the fireball just passes through the crack without making any viable reaction, therefore, making Reysha anxious about what dangers that this crack brings.

“Haa…are being anxious for nothing?” Reysha said with a sigh. Seeing no reaction from the crack, she then proceeded to walk closer to it, closer than anyone have ever had.

“Am I prepared to a lose a finger or two?” She said with sweat spilling from her forehead. Even though spring has just arrived bringing the previous winter climate to a still, it is still considerably chilly. The sweat indicates that Reysha is getting a little tense.

As such, she slowly sticks her forefinger into the crack.

THUMP

Her heart pounded as she clenches her teeth and braces herself for the upcoming pain of losing a finger, at worse, getting sucked into it without any chance of return. She instinctively pulled out a sword from her storage as the thought of getting sucked immediately invaded her mind.

If by chance, she really gets sucked in by the crack, she will cut her arm from below shoulder without hesitation.

THUMP

Her heart pumps faster and adrenaline started coursing throughout her body. She closes her eyes as she slowly sinks her finger down.

THUMP

However, as she sinks her finger, nothing happened. She can still feel her finger intact. She slowly opens her eyes and drew out her finger from the crack. She inspected her finger in haste as she once again took distance from the crack.

“It’s here…it’s still here…kuh…” Reysha said in relief but her breathing has become considerably ragged. The tension didn’t instantly fly away in an instant because she felt sensation.

“It has different temperature. It’s oddly cold…” She muttered as she once again stares at the crack. “I…want to go deeper. To solve its mystery, nothing gained if nothing is ventured…” She added as she started walking towards the crack in a hasty manner.

Instead of stopping in front of it, she went through it with her eyes closing in suspense. She swallowed her saliva in nervousness.

Dark…

It’s the only thing she can see as she firmly shut her eyes while entering it.

There was neither weird sensation nor destructive feeling. It was nothing but a simple breeze walk. However, Reysha’s tension hasn’t settled yet. She still kept a firm shut of her eyes.

She places both of her hands clenching as she braces herself of what she will witness.

Slowly, she opens her eyes…

“……” Reysha…was at loss for words. The tension earlier was now blown away and it was replaced by amazement and at the same time, a hulking curiosity and wonder. Her deep yellow eyes stare with wonder at the world in front of her.

“What…is this? This is like…something you’d find in a science fiction…” Reysha muttered.

Across the skies, no, there is no longer one could call a sky as it is brimming with stars. A cloudless boundary that no longer sealed by a layer called atmosphere.

Reysha was moved to an unbelievable degree once more as she turns her head to her left.

A spherical object mixed with green and blue…

“Is that…a planet?! Possibly…could it be…ours…or from another world? Then…what is this place?!” She uttered as she frantically looks around.

Among the stars are shattered fragments of stones or more specifically, a fragment of the place where she is right now.

Astounded, Reysha once again stopped at her track as she finds huge ruins in that place. As she observes the ruins from afar, there was a large cube-like object as large as a mansion collapsed and bounded on the place.

And, as she tried to approach the ruins, her breath once more stopped from what she discovered…

She just realized that this place is like the moon, however, only a good portion of it remains as more than half of its mass…was gouged.

“It’s like…something really large or powerful driven it to this state…” She said with disbelief.

Thus, Reysha stood there, with a petrified face, seemingly trying to think what kind of a monster could have done something destructive.
