Chapter 16: The Onset of War 3

Reysha realized it. She was irritated and annoyed by Falikh’s face which made her remember how Camille looks like when she is laughing haughtily. Her cheek twitches as the annoyance caused by Falikh internally got over her.

However, she cannot disturb such merry and happy atmosphere made by Falikh himself. All she can do is to believe that he has a plan as Falikh himself said that he already made a plan beforehand.

Reysha wants to know Falikh’s credibility about his war achievements as the brain of the army in the Mesola Kingdom. Words from Mika cannot sate her curiosity.

When Reysha returned to Kerias, she looked at some records regarding Mesola Kingdom’s war history. It is said that they really did win against the beast kins which gave them a huge boost in economic growth.

However, most of the stratagem was disclosed. The method of how they did it was vaguely described and most of the general’s names were left out leaving so many cracks in the story, especially the one who led the army and served as its brain.

Reysha’s willingness to learn tickles her knowledge-seeking mind and wants to know more on how the war was won by the Mesola Kingdom.

“Hey, you, I don’t want to be a spoil wart but, I want to know if your claim of being the genius behind the end of the war between the Mesola Kingdom and the Beast Kingdom is true or not.” Reysha suspiciously asked Falikh while locking her eyes towards his.

“Pfft! Boss, really…are you really using the word spoil wart?! That is some lame humor you got there!” Falikh sheepishly mocks Reysha with a laugh.

Reysha’s cheek twitches again and again and veins started popping out from her face as she got even more irritated. Falikh’s shenanigans drained her patience making it drop to rock bottom.

“Well, well, I can prove my claim. Hey, boss, what do you think is a beast kins advantage over us humans? I know you are strong though but let’s just say that you are fighting on an equal foot with them.” Falikh asked as he brings his face closer to Reysha. She was taken aback a little by Falikh’s sudden movement.

“According to what I know, beast kins are far more agile, has sharper senses such as smell, hearing, and even sight. Their overall specs are better than human and they can certainly learn high-level magic.” Reysha said with a tone of as a matter of fact. There was no error from her words. It accurately described the Beast kins basic abilities, however, Falikh’s smile never faded.

“That’s correct. However, strengths can be exploited too. There are various ways of defining one’s weakness through the knowledge that I gained from my previous life. Biologically, emotionally, and even psychologically, every single one of them is exploitable depending on how you use it.” Falikh said with wry smile.

This text was taken from Royal Road. Help the author by reading the original version there.

A shiver runs down to Reysha’s spine as she remembers an important trait that Camille or rather, Falikh has.

Camille was no ordinary housewife. She was a graduate of Psychology with master’s degree, however, when she got married to her, she didn’t even bother working. Instead, she chose to be a faithful wife to Reysha back then.

Her thesis in master’s university was a boom as it shook the society of psychology. It’s about Conditional Manipulation through Behavioral Analysis. However, years later, it was dumped in the trash as it proven to be morbid and crossing the lines and violating some principles.

Camille didn’t care though. She just wanted to have a carefree life together with Depp.

“Exploiting their sense of smell, we used it to weaken their mentality with any foul odor I could come up with. Exploiting their sensitive eyesight, we temporarily blinded them with strong light, exploiting their strong hearing, we used deafening sound to give them a headache. Those are few of stratagem that I used…I got a lot more to reveal.” Falikh said with a somewhat fading smile as he spoke those words.

Reysha, however she sees it, are too much of an exploit even against their enemy. It was kind of amazing that such information was greatly disclosed.

“After the war, I personally proposed a secret treaty with the beast kin’s King and I promised that I will destroy the information about the war in exchange, if I ever get the end of the stick with my own kingdom, I will rely on him in which he gladly accepted it. He knows that I am a bastard son…” he added those words.

“Wait…! Isn’t that…like a really big case of treason?!” Reysha greatly exclaimed.

“Well, as long as no one knows about it, it is not a treason, you know!~ No one, up until this day, knows about it except everyone in here right now.” he regained his composure and sheepishly smiles at Reysha. His confidence about it knows no bound.

“Well, that’s good for you but, what about the people, the soldiers, knights, and others who are involved in the war? Won’t that be a trouble?” Reysha curiously asked as her thirst for knowledge isn’t quite quenched yet.

“Nope!~ Within the empire, other than nobles and the royalties, everyone is under my palm! It’s either they are charmed by my charisma or they are my supporters as the previous’ kings son.” he yet again didn’t fail to flaunt his confidence.

“I see. That’s a really good information…wait! No! We have something at hand here! Hey you, what are you plotting? How can you stop the war between the Kerias Kingdom and the Mesola Kingdom?” Reysha immediately shifted the conversation towards the main topic. She inwardly, admits that she got swayed by her pursuit of knowledge.

“Oh, yeah! First of all, we should just standby first. I am waiting for Mika you know. I had him buy something for me!~” Falikh cheerfully said as his hand tries to approach Reysha’s head.

In reflex, Reysha caught his hand and pinches it. “Don’t touch me casually. Mika, huh… what are you two plotting?”

At that very moment, a sound of a carriage was heard. Everyone’s attention was shifted to the place where the sound came from.

From the main road leading to the bandit’s base comes a familiar man…

“Yahoo, Falikh dear, I’m here!” said by Mika as he parked the carriage full of clothes and makeup.
