“Web Binding!” Yrsha shouted as she comes out from her hiding. Five web-like magic sprouted from the ground that targeted the nearest foes within Yrsha’s vicinity.
The binding made out of magic trapped three assassins but the other two escaped as they are the farthest from Yrsha’s magic field of effect. The two that escaped from her bindings threw daggers coated with paralysis to her.
“It’s useless!” Yrsha shouted as she erected a barrier in front of her that deflected the daggers.
Half of the assassin’s group directed their attention to Yrsha while half of them kept an eye on Genesis’ group. The assassins, knowing that their foes increased, took out another sword and started dividing their force.
“I’m going to take care of the assassins from this side, please, take care of the Archbishop and escape.” Yrsha shouted as she started casting another spell.
“Easier said than done! Our Lady here is super stubborn! She moves like a rock and has a frigid mindset!” Alef shouted back as she shakes off the effect of the paralyze and to revitalize herself once more.
“Ayiee, you got some pretty troublesome girl there, huh.” Yrsha sprouted a slight grin.
“Damn right!” Alef replied as she charges once more in desperation.
Yrsha fired off elemental spells towards the assassins, bombarding the whole field with fire, water, earth, and wind magic.
Be as it may, the only victim of her spells are the bound assassins and they fainted. The remaining twelve assassins dodges with synchronized movements like they are used to a battle involving large-scale magic.
Alef tried to spot any opening as she started using her wings to give chase to the foes but they use the trees as their route to scatter and dodge. At the same time, arrows came flying towards her.
“Stop moving, damn it! Hey, damn,Genesis! Move your ass already!” Alef shouted angrily as she started falling for the assassins trap.
“Guah?!” She shrieks as a net caught her. “Don’t think this will simply stop me!” Alef shouted as she prepares her claws to hack the said net, however, in the next moment, an electric shock shook her body.
“Arrrggggghhhh!” Alef, electrocuted by one of the assassins with magic.
“They can…use magic…” Derill muttered weakly as he watches Alef almost loses her consciousness.
“As expected of a girl from the dragon race, even a full power electrocution can’t incapacitate you. Another one won’t be an issue now. Just sleep obediently and the next moment, you’ll be seeing yourself being auctioned.” The leader-like assassins said as he pulled on the wired net again and invoke another magic.
“No…I don’t want to…I still want to see Sir Teth again…no…” Alef weakly muttered, barely hanging on a thread of consciousness and spilling bitter tears.
Seeing that Alef cries in despair, Genesis tried to move. Her feet started leading her back to where her staff is. She was compelled by something she can’t comprehend but nonetheless, she wanted to move and do something.
However, an arrow suddenly struck the back of her leg.
“Guh…” Genesis cried as she falls on her knees.
“We can’t have that. You should have listened to your friend earlier while she was still buying you time, Archbishop. The King wants you in one piece but this one can’t be helped. You can be healed later so don’t worry.” The leader said as he closes in on Derill.

“Oh my, not on my watch.” Yrsha said as she created a barrier between Derill together with Genesis against the leader.
“Quite an interesting spell. But…we are a group that specializes in assassinating magicians too. Also, for this dragon girl…” The leader said as he sent another wave of electricity towards Alef that completely stipped her of her consciousness.
“Specialized? What does that mean?!” Yrsha suddenly felt something bad as the assassins attacking her barrier relentlessly stops.
After that, they then took out short blades with an eerie gleam of a rainbow. They started assaulting her again in succession and Yrsha started firing off her spells again, however, the assassins are too swift for her to target.
“Are those…Mithrils?!” Yrsha shouted as one of the assassins tore a hole in her barrier. She suddenly started panicking and tried to reinforce her barrier once more but the brutal succession of attacks poured like a rain.
“Ahh…I tried sticking my nose to something really dangerous…” Yrsha thought as even her spell circle are being cut down. She lifelessly hangs her arms, admitting wordlessly her defeat.
Needles coated with paralysis struck her in the shoulders and she falls on her rear.
The assassins are far too experienced in their job as they know how to properly engage a magician like Yrsha. It was a bad matchup, she understands that.
The paralysis immediately took effect and Yrsha’s body started becoming numb.
“At least you know when to give up, huh? Don’t worry, I shall end you quickly. Yrsha Einhart of the Kerias Kingdom, you shall fall here.” The assassin said knowingly.
“I messed up badly, huh? Sorry…Father and mother…Ersha and Reysha…” Yrsha thought to herself as she closes her eyes.
The leader of the assassins raised his sword and…swung it down to strike Yrsha…
Is supposed to happen but…
The clanking of chains entered everyone’s ears and within the span of two seconds, before the sword cut down Yrsha, she disappears together with the heard chain appearing and restricting two assassins to the tree.
“Wha--?!” The leader of the assassin shouted with a dumbfounded countenance.
Yrsha Einhart thought that her life will end now, however, the only thing she can feel is the breeze of the cold wind. She was in an embrace of someone.
She opens her eyes and saw the face of the man donning a beautiful silver hair bathed in the gleam of moonlight. The scarf covering his mouth and the garb he is wearing made him looks mysterious and cool and his eyes are sharp but romantic at the same time.
The man was Spoof. He rescued Yrsha the last moment.
“So cool…” Yrsha muttered as her heart started beating furiously. She felt how the warmness spreads throughout her chest and her face started flaring in cherry-colored blush.
Spring hath come to the maiden.
Spoof landed in front of Derill and gently lay down Yrsha. He immediately pulled on the chain in his hand to choke the assassins that were tied to the trees and rendered them unconscious.
The leader of the assassins immediately glared at Spoof.
“You bastard…! Who the he--?! Wait…you…you are Code Zero. You are Code Zero, right?!” The man started walking backward with a face profusely sweating.
“…” Spoof only jokingly shrugs with eyes smiling at the man.
Wordlessly, Spoof rushes to their formation and started flailing the chains again in his hands. He twirls mid-air and the chain dances with his movements, taking the assassins by surprise. They immediately saw that Spoof’s abilities are far superior to each of them.
The chains collide again with two more of the assassins in the back of their neck and immediately falls to the ground.
The assassins are now down to eight.
The ground beneath one of the assassin suddenly crack open and swallowed him up to his neck, burying him with only his head visible.
“Hahahaha! How’s that?! This is I, the great Zirk’s magic! The sure pitfall magic that would put you in place, unpleasant mongrel!” Zirk appeared out of the bushes while laughing haughtily.
Once again, the assassins fall into a panic.
“Avidya Severance – Third Fist of Judgement!” Marc shouted as he immediately closes into two assassins and struck them with a palm strike. His skill is aligned with Ki and against the assassins, they are helpless against a direct attack from it.
Once again, more assassins fell from their sudden appearance.
“Gah, baldy! You took more prey from me!” Zirk shouted angrily.
“You f*ckwit. You think I care about your damn pride? We are now in the face of a foe.” Marc replied with a calm tone.
The assassin’s count went down now to five.
“YOOOOOOOO! Don’t forget about me!” A voice echoes throughout the skies.
A weird whooshing sound resounded the place. Everyone’s attention immediately went towards the sky and they saw a weird metallic bird soaring at an unimaginable speed.
“Sorry. For. The. Wait!” On top of the weird metal, Victoria rides it with a crazed smile.
“Make way for my StuKa Ju-87!” She shouted once more as the thing glided down. Spoof and the others immediately shiver from Victoria’s act and grabbed Genesis and her co.
“I am Victoria and I bring victory! Hear me o, mortals! Hear the judgment of heavens, Trumpets of Jericho!” Was the last thing that everyone heard as a huge exploding sound shook the whole forest.
