Chapter 119: The Night of the Spark 5

Chapter 119: The Night of the Spark 5

The flow of the party changes and the drowning presence of Meriyal and Ivy died down as they started socializing with the noble of the kingdom. Their discussion ranges from idle chatter to setting up appointments.

Knowing that Meriyal Breille is considered genius for her contribution in agricultural reforms and inventions and Ivy Hellbeing for just simply because she is the Demon Lord, dozens of nobles started buttering up to them. It was a fairly normal occurrence and the people involved into are aware of it but regardless, it decrees a lot of their diplomatic goal.

Not long after their talk with King Ridil, Ries D’Levierre and Lala Forchure appeared before Meriyal.

“What’s the situation?” Meriyal asked as if she is whispering those words towards her two trusted escorts and childhood friends.

“Yes, the situation is a lot stable. We do not see any enemies approaching the vicinity. Also, Lord Hansen will arrive shortly after making sure everything is arranged.” Ries said as while keeping her head low.

“That man, I told him just to come with me. Who is going to be my escort and my dance partner when the ball starts?” Meriyal said bitterly with knitted brows. “Anyway, you two, please standby and enjoy the night.” She added.

“We cannot do that! We need to be by your side after all!” Lala rebuttal as she sprouted a worried countenance.

“Oh my, don’t be so worried. Meriyal will be safe with me as long as she sticks close to me. You two go along now. While we wait for our escorts, please make yourselves enjoy the party.” Ivy approached them and assured the two worried knights.

“Indeed, it is as Ivy said. See, someone seems so interested in talking with you.” Meriyal said as she smiled at a person incoming. It was Ersha Einhart who is keeping a keen eye on Ries.

“May I have a little bit of your time, Miss D’Levierre, the commander of the Breille Kingdom Army? I want to have a conversation with a fellow who can sway the masses.” Ersha said as she held out her hand to Ries.

Ries together with Lala faces Ersha in utter disbelief as Ersha approaches them in such a manly manner. They knew that Ersha is a woman of stupendous appearance but they didn’t expect her to be this too appealing.

“I digress! I am nothing more than a dust to what the famous Ersha Einhart can do! Even if we have the almost same position within our kingdom, Miss Ersha surely is far beyond me.” Ries presses those words to Ersha.

“What a humble attitude! You aren’t too proud or too drowned by your achievements! It is as they said, you have a soft heart for everyone. I would like to discuss a lot of militaristic affairs with you as we will do it in the future too. Actually, you may have some answers I am seeking for. Please let me have a bit of your time!” Ersha pleaded to Ries as she clasped her hands. “Please come too, Vice Commander Forchure!” Ersha said as she snaps a glance to Lala.

“Eh?! Me too? I…I am honored!” Lala said with a face ablaze from the suddenness.

It was rather funny to see that the tall Ersha Einhart needs to lower her stance a little to match with Ries and Lala because they are one head shorter than her. It was not an exaggeration to say that Ersha’s physiques are a lot more masculine than the two knights which made them feel taken aback.

The three knights left to talk among themselves and then comes Reysha towards Ivy and Meriyal. Noticing her, Ivy sprouted a smile and Meriyal bows a little to her.

“Happy birthday! How was my performance!?” Ivy greeted her with a smug.

“Congratulations for turning seventeen, Miss Reysha. I hope a long life will come to you.” Meriyal said with a respectful tone.

“Yes, thank you Miss Meriyal, however, I do think you two overdid it…” Reysha said in a low voice.

“Why don’t I get thank too?!” Ivy complained.

“Hah?! Know your place.” Reysha said as she put her hand in a pulling motion from thin air. It was her act when she pulls her Warhammer from her dimensional storage.

“Ah! No…yes…I’m sorry. Please, not that!” Ivy pleaded to Reysha with an anxious countenance.

“So, what’s going to happen next? Now that you two secured a meeting with King Ridil, what’s to come tonight?” Reysha asked casually as Meriyal and Ivy are the safest options to talk with currently.

Falikh and Oliver are not out of the option but she rather stays away from talking with males, for now, to keep all suitors at bay. They may get the wrong idea if Reysha carelessly approaches an opposite gender.

“All we know is that we should secure a firm standing within this kingdom immediately. Hansen and Eiru immediately rush somewhere before we even reached your territory.” Meriyal said with a small sigh, seemingly inaudible.

“What a busybody.” Reysha widens her eyes in surprise not because she thinks they are good but because they left these two girls.

“That aside, Miss Reysha, you…really are beautiful if you put an effort.” Ivy said as she looks at Reysha from head to toe.

“Well, I can’t work up anything flashy as the two of you though. You two totally overshadowed me with your presences.” Reysha bluntly said with a faint smirk on her lips.

“So, is there anything on your side, Miss Reysha?” Meriyal asked the query with great interests.

“There is. We’ve taken custody of Archbishop Genesis.” Reysha closes into the two of them and whispered it with great confidentiality.

“…That’s, how?” Ivy, with a surprised countenance, asked.

Meriyal and Ivy took great interests of the news but Reysha just shook her head in response.

“I’d like you two to get a better detail out of it from Falikh himself. There are a lot of circumstances happening within their family after all and I don’t want to butt any half-assed explanations.” Reysha firmly said.

“Hmm, I see. If words got out that the Archbishop of the Mesola Kingdom is in custody of anyone in the Kerias Kingdom, they could start a huge conflict about it and may start the spark of war regardless of outside opinions.” Ivy thought as she ponders on the information she just received.

As the three of them murmurs among each other, whispers started assailing the place as they saw how the three of them talk.

“…Is it just me or…even without escorts, none dared to approach us?” Ivy tilted her head quizzically.

“You know, you’re quite stupid. After the ruckus you made, you think people will carelessly approach you? Also, you are the Demon Lord so they expect that you’re stronger than anyone here.” Reysha said with a perplexed countenance.

“The strongest is in front of me right now though.” Ivy mulled.

Meanwhile, Ivy is quite unaware of the reality going around her. In actuality, there are a lot of men interested in her. None can resist her transcendental beauty and breasts that one can reckon with. It’s the same for Meriyal, however…

“……” Meriyal stares at another man who tried to approach them again.

Aware of Ivy’s idiotic disposition, Meriyal took the liberty to scare any men that will approach using her icy glare. Reyhsa took notice and kept quiet about is as she also benefits from it.

Meanwhile, Aspara is making a really pained expression as she watches the three. She was just chatting with Mirsha when she noticed how the three of them gathered in a really outstanding spot.

“I’m relieved that I told King Ridil that they are friends.” Aspara thought as she wouldn’t have to worry about wrong rumors spreading.

Sometime later on, the orchestras who are solemnly playing a background music changes gear and started playing a lively music fitting for a dance.

“Is it time already?” Reysha said as people started steering away from the hall.

“You didn’t notice your father talking?!” Ivy was shocked as she also listened to Seran.

“I tend to ignore him on a daily basis.” Reysha bluntly said with a light tone.

“Hahaha…That’s your father we’re talking about here…” Ivy smiled stiffly while leaking a weak laughter.

“Don’t mind it, Miss Reysha. Your father only said something about thanks and welcome and that the dance will start. However, at this rate, keeping people at bay for their advances won’t work anymore.” Meriyal intervened.

“I know that.” Reysha frowned as she saw the same men who wanted to get on her good side. As the celebrant of today’s occasion, refusal is unacceptable, not anymore.

A light headache started attacking Reysha’s head when she thinks about the flood of grubby men from teens to aged trying to make an advance to her. She hated the idea but it is something she couldn’t control anymore.

As a noble of the Einhart Household, it is expected of Reysha to go along these events even if she doesn’t want to.

However, at that very moment, something intangible within the place erupted. It was not something destructive or even obstructive. The people around don’t even know that it started, one of Reysha’s biggest headache.

Among the crowds walks Falikh in bursting with an overflowing charisma none can understand and charm that can even frazzle both man and woman because he started radiating an awful golden color in their eyes.

“Tsk... this is what they called Host Mode?” Reysha felt like her worries became a heavy burden.

Without sparing any thoughts, people started drifting away from Falikh but their eyes are good as glued to his brilliance. They only watch as Falikh approached Reysha and kneeled in front of her with one knee on the ground and held his hand out.

“Miss Reysha Einhart, will you take the first and the last dance with me?” Falikh declares that made an erupting gasp from the crowd.

“Oh? OH?! You…underestimate me?” Reysha’s cheek twitched at Falikh’s fearless proposal.

The second plan is in motion.
