A certain party at the Breille Kingdom Castle, Meriyal Breille looks at the spectacle of people gathering and flocking. Most of the people invited are nobles, royalties, and peddlers or merchant with high standing in the economic structure.
They are celebrating the success of Princess Meriyal’s accomplishment in irrigation and agriculture advancement. Even though she just started researching and learning anything about these things, in just two years, she already made a huge progress.
Her new way of using canals around farmlands with water runes installed and sprinklers. For farmers, it made their jobs easier. Not only that, she also proposed a seasonal crop rotation to ensure that the soil used from the last harvest can be cultivated healthily again.
Princess Meriyal is the type of person to prioritize her subjects more than her own self. However, she takes pride in what she does and she doesn’t let anyone badmouth her.
Being regarded as an agricultural prodigy in which this era needed the most, Meriyal knew that she is utterly regarded in a high position.
She bears neither hate nor anguish, she pities people below her equally but will actually acknowledge people who their own respective accomplishment.
However, for the first time of her life, Meriyal felt hateful for a reason a man from the Kingdom of Kerias came for her hand.
Arytorio Kerias brazenly shows in front of her with a smile that he thinks he owns the place. Meriyal knows full well that Arytorio has shown no considerable feats in their own kingdom so she ignored him.
Suddenly…
“Hey, it’s a bit rude to ignore me, Prince Arytorio Kerias. You don’t have much chance to marry someone as charming as me.” Arytorio said with mocking smile.
Meriyal face’s cramped in irritation from the prince who barges in her very own celebration just to be a douche. She held it in and tried to walk past him, however, the Prince insisted and blocked her path.
“That’s not something you do in a presence of someone great. Where’s your respect?” The Prince unknowingly insulted Meriyal.
“I don’t have any respect for such man who can’t grow his very own balls.” Is what Meriyal brutally said and savagely delivered to Arytorio. “Also, you are uninvited and I don’t remember you arranging a meeting with me. We basically let you in to show respect to Kerias’ royalties. Think carefully too, you are not in your own territory, little man.” She added.
“All he did is to chase shadows after all and I am not about to be drag in his power struggle, let alone, be his wife,” Meriyal said inwardly with disdain.

“Bitch, you are only a woman! A tool for procreation for us men!” Arytorio said visibly losing his temper from being looked down and insulted. Of course he would feel bad, after all, for all his life, it is what he felt like inside the Kerias Castle.
Meriyal snaps from Arytorio’s shallow mind. She didn’t expect for him to be this stupid. She feels like she was talking to a noisy monkey. No, calling him a monkey would be an insult to an actual monkey so she’d rather not say it.
Meriyal cannot bear how Arytorio is looking down on her so she used magic impulsively.
“[Pitfall] [Enclosed]”
“What?!” Arytorio shouted as he fell in a hole that was created beneath him and as his feet touch the ground, the earth around him closes. He is only left with his head poking out from the ground.
It was Meriyal’s magic that did such simple feat. Because she hated being looked down, she made a way so she can look down on him. Also, Meriyal’s specialty is earth magic. She contemplated at first if she should get water magic but, earth magic itself is plenty useful to detect water leyline beneath the soil so she picked earth magic for efficiency and its usefulness in agriculture.
“Your very existence is a shame for your kingdom. If you have done your best at something, I won’t mind thinking otherwise. Also, I already have a fiancé. I’ll show you the way out myself.” Meriyal coldly said as she stared down at Arytorio with raging face from the embarrassment he received in front of all the guests.
Arytorio expected that she will dig him out of the ground, however, she didn’t. Arytorio by no means, a weakling, however, such situation won’t grant him anyway to fight.
“[Shoot!]”
In an instant, Arytorio was launched out of the venue like a cannonball. What Meriyal did was a magic where the earth around Arytorio flings him out of the whole but because there was so much force, Arytorio was launched even further away.
Because of the sudden development, Arytorio wasn’t able to croak a single scream. Before he knew it, he crashes at his servants that were standing beside their carriage. In their reflex, they all band together to catch their Lord, albeit it seems they were really expecting such result.
“Ack! Ow…ow! Who in the world in their sane mind would do such thing to me!?” Arytorio shouted with disdain but his voice is tinged with fear.
From the large double panel door, Meriyal came out while still looking down at him.
“Go home. I don’t want to waste my time on you further more.” Meriyal said with an emotionless countenance as she turns around and leaves for good.
Arytorio, upon seeing no choice but to go home, stomped his feet angrily as he rode the carriage behind him which prepared by his servants.
Meanwhile, Meriyal is met by her father, the king of Breille Kingdom.
“Meriyal, to do such thing…couldn’t you have done it in a manner befitting of your name?” The king asked his daughter with a complicated expression.
“What are you saying, my dear father? I am pretty sure I’ve dealt with him befitting of my name.” She said with a holier-than-thou attitude.
“I am not going to apologize or even amend my actions today. I simply stood for myself and my prided name. I am more comfortable if this escalates to war than bowing my head to them.” Meriyal announces such that made everyone in the guest hall pale.
.
.
.
You mean…that you…?!” Hansen, with flabbergasted face, looked at Meriyal with disbelief.
“Indeed. There is no such thing as someone controlling us behind. I, by will, chose this war over peace by apologizing. I will take responsibility for this war and all my past actions even if I ended up dead.” Meriyal said towards Hansen.
It turns out that there is no such thing as mastermind that is controlling the Breille Royalty from the shadows. It was all because of Princess Meriyal Breille’s stubbornness to interact in goodwill to the Kerias Kingdom.
