Chapter 122: Inland Skirmish 2

Chapter 122: Inland Skirmish 2

“Spoof, there are two more people in the outskirt! They are retreating! Please make haste!” Yrsha called out as she navigated Spoof’s direction through magic and a device that enables communication.

Spoof on the other end of the conversation immediately rushed towards the specified location. As he stealthily moves from roof to roof, an array of fireworks started brightening the humid night sky and the people in the city cheered as the light dances.

Spoof knows that Marc and Zirk are the ones who started the fireworks that set off and tantalizes the people. It was part of the plan to give the night a wanted spice and Mika was the one who suggested it.

Not long after, he reaches the outskirt of the city and started pursuing the runaway assassin.

Spoof has succeeded in disarming and catching the assassins and now in pursuit of the last two. He is getting tired of running and jumping around. Not to mention, the battle he needed to engage to.

But before he can even engage the remaining assassins, Spoof hangs his head in dismay as he saw the two assassins already apprehended by someone he knows.

It was Eiru and beside him is Hansen who is now tying the assassins with a rope.

“Ah, Spoof, that’s so sloppy of you! Good thing Hansen and I saw these two on the way.” Eiru said as he knit his brows.

“Like what I’ve been telling you, Eiru, we shouldn’t have to. I bet Meriyal will be furious at me.” Hansen said as he heaves a sigh.

“Spoof, who are you with there? Well, not like you can actually talk or something. Anyway, it seems our mission is complete!” Yrsha’s voice resounds from the ring that even Eiru and Hansen heard.

“Hey, who is that, Spoof?!” Hansen asked.

“Hello, I’m Spoof’s darling!” Yrsha said with a cheery voice that it made Spoof panic.

“Oh, Spoof’s lover, huh? Nice to meet you, I’m Eiru and the other one is Hansen, though it will be a better situation if we can talk in person.” Eiru introduces himself while awkwardly looking at the ring.

“It’s as you said, however, we can’t take our leisure time now! The whole manor is in a panic now! Can you please return here!” Yrsha said in a less anxious tone.

“What’s happening there, Miss?!” Hansen hastily asked.

“Intruders came and now everyone is in panic. The intruders are the Archbishop and the dragon girl she was with. Well, knowing Reysha, she can handle this.” Yrsha gave them a detail with a relaxed tone.

“The Archbishop?! It seems that there are lots of things going on. Anyway, thank you for the information.” Eiru thanked Yrsha and they started dragging the assassins on their way back.

The plan was to turn over the assassins again for a hefty amount of money as Spoof has already acquired a person they can interrogate. The others that they have caught was already routed by Zirk and Marc and once again, looted.

As they turned over the two assassins with a little issue but was passed by Yrsha’s approval, Spoof, Eiru, and Hansen walk in the street of the city in the fief that the Einhart directly governs. Even the streets of the city are lively as people, even as the night grew deeper, are enjoying a festive mood, unaware of the commotion that is happening on the Einhart Manor.

Meanwhile, on Yrsha’s end…

“it seems this is also part of their plan, huh? I expect nothing less from people like them!” Yrsha exclaimed as she leans back at her chair.

She gazes at the geographical projection of their territory and smiled. There are lots of green dots which are the citizens of the city, there are yellow dots which are guests with authorization to enter from either the gate guard or by someone with a position.

The author's tale has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

And there are blue dots, people who Yrsha treasures the most, she knows best, and are important to her. Even Spoof’s dot is blue together with the people Reysha is close with.

“I like interesting things and something that would lead to something a little bit chaotic, but as expected, I love it the most when it’s peaceful, especially if the day is tranquil and laying down in a lazy afternoon.” Yrsha muttered as she brought her knees up and hugs it.

As said those words, she brought out a bracelet and a book from the pocket of her cape.

“Not only Ersha but also Reysha gave me something yesterday. I swear that I feel like I am getting spoiled by Reysha too. Maybe I should buy them something later?” Yrsha said.

“As soon as Spoof arrives, I’ll introduce him to mother and father quickly. Tie him down while I can, huh?” Yrsha giggles as she thought of something really disgraceful.

However, as her mood elevates, a sudden change happens and every strand of her hair stood up accompanied by cold sweat bathing her back and her forehead.

“Wha-?! What is this…?! I feel…so scared…?” Yrsha tightly squeezes on her knees as the sudden sensation invaded her.

She immediately snaps at the projected map in the room and there, her shoulder trembles in fear.

“There…are two red dots approaching and…they feel like…dangerous, however…why is something like this here?!” Yrsha stares at the two red dots first after staring fearfully at the dot in the middle of those two red dots.

“A black dot…a sign of disaster…” Yrsha muttered as the black dot moves in unison with the red dots. What more is that they are heading towards the city, no, towards the place where she is right now.

The dots that reeks danger head towards the city in a fast pace and this immediately drained every blood in Yrsha’s countenance.

“Spoof! Are you there?! Spoof!?” Yrsha immediately called out anxiously, forgetting that Spoof can’t talk.

In any case, Hansen and Eiru should be able to hear her voice so she still grasps on that hope to warn them, however, none of their voices replied but instead, a voice of a woman spoke.

“Hi!~ What an amazing device! I’m sorry for entering your boundary, mage.” A cheerful voice resounds.

Yrsha returns her eyes on the map and saw that the three dots stopped exactly at the predicted location of Spoof and his friends. Yrsha is washed with despair as she already thought of what’s going to happen.

“Thou art so stiff! Loosened up a bit! Oh, what is this? Your larynx is in tatters. How horrible! Let me fix that for you!” The voice sounded so happy and it further elevates Yrsha’s anxiety.

“Hey, please, don’t hurt the people over there whoever you are!” Yrsha mustered up her courage and shouted those words.

“I’ve lost interest so now I don’t have any business with them. Maybe I’ll try taking a good look at you. Wait there, okay?” The voice said fleetingly.

Yrsha immediately looks at the map and the dangerous dots started moving again, however, she still can’t find any room to feel relieved.

“Miss…are you there?” Eiru’s voice called out to Yrsha.

“Yes! I’m here! Hey, are you guys in one piece?!” Yrsha asked immediately.

“Miss…thank you…you saved us…you literally saved our lives…” Hansen’s shaky voice intervened.

“If you hadn’t pleaded at the last second…I don’t know…I can only imagine something worse than death.” Eiru followed up with a voice full of fear.

She’s heading here, that walking disaster.

That’s the only thing that Yrsha could think of right now after hearing Spoof and his friends’ safety. She deactivated the projected map and immediately head out of the room to tell everyone.

However, as soon as she opened the door, the figure of Ersha and Reysha are already in sight.

“Ah, Ersha…Reysha…I have to tell you two something!” Yrsha said to the two of them.

“See, I told you she’s around here.” Reysha said with a faint smug on her face.

“Yeah, good girl, good girl!” Ersha then rubs Reysha’s head with a proud smile.

“Listen to me, something dangerous is coming here!” Yrsha blurted it out loud towards her sisters who seemed so complacent about the situation.

“Yeah, we know that. That’s why we’ve come to tell you to help in evacuating people. You together with mother can do it, right?” Ersha said as she then patted Yrsha’s head.

“This place will become a battlefield so just save any people out there. Do it for us, Yrsha.” Reysha said as she also rubs Yrsha’s head.

“Wait…! This one is definitely something else! Even you, Reysha, may actually die!” Yrsha desperately tried to convince the two.

Yrsha doesn’t really care about the people. She’d rather save everyone close to her and let people she doesn’t know to die.

“We are Einharts! Even father is raring to go! Just how powerful this enemy is!? I can’t wait!” Ersha said with a smile of an excited warrior.

“The strength of the enemy doesn’t concern me. I am sticking here because my family will. Yrsha, we are relying on you.” Reysha said as she turned her back together with Ersha and they walked away from her.

“It’s okay, Yrsha. Expect more gifts from us in the future.” Ersha said to reassure Yrsha.

“Ah…so steadfast and valorous…my sisters are…definitely lunatics…but that’s exactly why…they have strong hearts and never trembled…” Yrsha can only think as she sunk into silence while looking down.
