Reysha sits under a tree alone, watching the bandits heartily chomp down on their dinner while she begrudgingly chews her salted beef jerky with dim expression painted on her face.
The result of the match was obviously a big defeat to her.
“What the hell is that… drawing an ace and ten hitting the value of twenty-one easily while I got sixteen even when I hit once.” Thought by Reysha as the unfortunate match flashes in her mind again.
The scene of Falik laughs at her triumphantly while looking down at her as he scoops up the bowl of stew on his hand and teasingly put a spoonful of savory soup inside his mouth.
In defeat, Reysha could only hang her head and slump her back and accepts her defeat. She would no longer pursue her desire to taste the stew, albeit, she was so downhearted.
“Haa…that was so pathetic of me. Losing my mind over something like that. But…it smelled so delicious that my stomach has taken over my brain.” She muttered to herself as she sighs and mulls over it.
At that moment, she saw someone coming.
Teth, the Cooking Bandit.
He walks over beside her and leans on a tree close to her.
“I’m really sorry Miss Reysha. Falikh is like that when it comes to food but, usually, he is caring and kind.” apologetically said by Teth as he stares at the frolicking friends.
“I won’t pursue the matter, why are you apologizing? I am the one imposing here. Also, you guys are bandits, so there’s no point in that.” said by Reysha as she keeps a straight face.
“So, what are your plans, Miss Adventurer? I’d say you’re an S rank, right?” Teth said without a single doubt.
“It’s good that there are brains works in your group. I say, the day after tomorrow after that moron laid out his demands, I’ll go back to Kersia.” explained by Reysha as she continues to chew her food in silence.”
“It was about the war after all. At the middle of Kersia and Breille kingdom, this forest is between them. But the possibility that the war will occur is low. Probably, they would be spilling blood at the plains outside of this forest.” said in one breath by Teth as he glances over Reysha.
“Can you do something about it, though, Miss Reysha? You’re super strong,” he added.
“Don’t ask the impossible. Even if I am strong, I would be crushed under a force of thousands of adept magicians. Even if I can, I prefer to stop the war before it happens. Also, those are just what the rumors said. There are no proven facts yet. That’s why I am returning immediately to get further details.” Reysha voices out her opinion. Her voice has a tinge worry in it as it trembles a bit.

In her previous life, as a doctor, Reysha did so many surgeries and operation that requires precision, dexterity and even a huge amount of concentration that would go for hours, desperately saving the life of the patient at hand.
But things don’t always go her way.
Even considering every external and internal factor that could affect the patient, there are still times that she would fail.
Life will slip out of her hand. Miracles aren’t always there to help her save the patient.
Back then, she is considered to be one of the greatest surgeons but despite that, she has already lost countless of life on her watch.
She could still remember the smell of blood as the patient’s vital drops to zero and lays in the operating room lifelessly even with her greatest effort.
Reysha would always shed tears as the patient body becomes colder as its life ceases to exist. She would cry again in silence as the family of the patient breaks down into tears when the unfortunate news is delivered to them.
It has been always heartbreaking for Reysha and she couldn’t imagine now if a war breaks out and thousands of men leave their families just to die.
“Miss Reysha is quite matured. Unlike our leader…” complimented by Teth.
“I don’t know about that. Also, don’t even try comparing me to that guy. Why are you guys trying so hard to become bandits anyway?” she said as she chews the last piece of beef jerky.
“I really couldn’t speak for them but, for me, I am once a barkeep at the Mesola Kingdom in a relatively large city. Then I got bored. At that time, I met Falikh and things go bad and we became bandits.” he explains as he sprouts a slight grin as if remembering the days he had with them.
“What about you, Miss Reysha? You seem to be quite interested in us. Surely not because of our looks, right.” he softly added and waits for Reysha’s response.
“Interested, huh? Do I strike you as someone bored and only doing this on a whim?” Reysha answered his question with another question.
“Initially, yes. You could take us down anytime you want after all. But along the line, within the span of a day, you seem to have seen something on us…” he honestly explains his thought towards the expressionless Reyha.
Teth was not wrong.
Reysha finds the whole skirmish with the bandit fun. In her family, the only male she could interact with is her father. Other than that, a small talk to some men in proposal talks which she magnificently turned down.
She felt fun as she openly talks to these fellows without abandon.
She has lived more than seventy years or more of her previous life. Obviously, being reborn as a girl and adapt to her new life would be hard but for Reysha, she acted befitting of her previous age, considering the watchful eyes around her.
So, by talking with these fellows, she felt that a part of her lively vigor coming back as a man.
But…
That’s only half of the reason.
“That Falikh…he resembled someone I know…” she said as she points at Falikh who is now arm wrestling with Amadeo.
“Oh? How so?” is quickly replied by Teth with interested countenance.
“At first, it was only in appearance. But as I observe him, there are some of their personalities that were similar. Like, how both of them are lively and pesky. Idiotic but loves having fun and their most prominent feature…lazy and gluttonous. But if what you said about being nice and kind is true, then they are strikingly similar then.” explained by Reysha as her eyes drifts towards the beautiful moon that watches over this world
“I bet you had so much trouble with that person.” Teth weakly said.
“Yeah…” is the only fleeting word Reysha could mutter.
After all, the person she was talking about is not a residence of this world.
The person she described with such detailed personality would such person whom she has been the longest in her previous life.
Camille, Reysha’s wife when she was still a he.
