Chapter 52: Hellmind 4

Chapter 52: Hellmind 4

“What permission do you maggots have to follow me around?” Princess Meriyal Breille said as she looks at Sod, Mes, and Reld with utter disgust. “Also, Reld, don’t think I don’t remember you. A low noble falling even lower, pathetic.” She added as she stares at Reld.

“Guh!” Reld could only sprawl on all four as he quietly curses. Meriyal knows about Reld and how he was…thrown out from nobility. Reld completely thought that Meriyal wouldn’t notice him, however, he digresses.

“Now, now, you and Miss Aspara are going along very well! Her concerns are also our concerns…as long as there’s payment…” Sod honestly said as he skips along together with Mes.

“Yeah, aren’t you and Miss Aspara are like buddy-buddy?” Mes followed with a smile.

Ries and Lala who are also following Meriyal stops at their track and looks at Sod and Mes with flabbergasted faces. They peek a little at Meriyal, albeit a little pale and nervous.

The reason behind it is that because they knew something about Meriyal and…

“Hey, you two low lives, are you referring to me? Did you two…just casually called out to me?” Meriyal said menacingly as she turns around to look at Sod and Mes. “Did you two really called me without any title and honorific? Did you two honestly think that you two are on the same plane as me?” she added.

Sod and Mes felt it, Meriyal Breille’s overbearing presence of dominance, a presence befitting of a king looking at her subjects. This is the number one allure and charisma that all of the best kings and queens have.

The two then was forced to kneel, and after Sod and Mes fell to the ground, Ries, Lala, and Reld followed.

“We are utterly sorry, Your Highness! We are mistaken, please forgive our wrongdoings!” Sod pleaded as he kneeled down with his one foot.

“Our very own mistake, please pardon us, your Highness!” Mes followed.

“There’s no need to address me so highly, I am just a princess…for now. I am not upset, rather, I am just a little displeased. I bear no anger at those below me, only sympathy.” She calmly said as she turned away from them.

She walks with pride and royal allure that none can match in this city. As soon as she set outside the hotel, gazes are fixated at her mixed with awe and jealousy.

Lala immediately runs towards the readied carriage with intricate ornaments and opens the carriage door for Meriyal.

“I do believe that the Princess’ life is in constant danger, however, even without your help, we, her knights, are here to protect her. You may go and follow as you please as Councilor Aspara told you and we won’t mind, just don’t get in her Princess’ way.” Ries said to Sod, Mes, and Reld.

It was no empty pledge. Ries and Lala are capable knights tasked to escort Meriyal. They are both proficient with their own specialized magic and not to mention, Princess Meriyal herself is an Earth Magician.

Even so, Reld is having doubts, or more like, a bad feeling that nothing will go well today as he looks up at the brewing weather that is about to bring a strong blizzard, the more reason that Meriyal needed to have an audience with the Mesola King.

“Even as a former noble, I still have an awe and respect for my own kingdom. If Princess Meriyal is to fall, then we don’t know what collapse the Breille Kingdom might undergo.” Reld thought as he signals Sod and Mes to get their carriage.

As everything was set in motion…

Reysha’s group that is about to investigate the odd feeling that they have in this city and its incoming woes, Reld and the others start their very own mission to keep Meriyal safe from an assassination attempt on her life with a preface of peace.

The action of the summoned hero that will bring a tide, Arytorio’s fascination towards a false Goddess, the Archpriest that rules over the whole city and holds the royalty by the neck and started her little theatric show.

And lastly, the main cast of today’s act, the lost Eiru.

“What the hell, how can I lose them in my sight?” Eiru said as he walks along the streets directed at shopping district for nobles.

Eiru didn’t notice that Mika and Aspara were missing, no, he is the one missing and lost in the middle of the city. Despite the weather, people are here and there with the constant traffic of people looking for goods and foods.

Eiru desperately wanted to stop Arytorio Kerias from glorifying his figure in drag. It may no importance to everyone but for him, it is a matter of his pride and shame.

“Even so, this cold weather, good thing we got used to it and I can walk around with only light clothing. Not that I am proud of it.” He said as he looks over at the tall buildings and the markets in sprawled all over the place.

He noticed one of the bigger shops, a branded clothing store, where a man and woman are talking.

“I am really sorry! I really have to go!” The woman pleaded as the man strongly holds her in the shoulder.

“No! We couldn’t afford to look for another model at this time!” the man, with an accent like Mika, started pulling the woman back to the store. “It is for the innovation of fashion and my tribute for Madam Fleur!” he reasoned.

“No! I refuse! It’s too embarrassing, even with the payment!” the woman said as she broke free from the man’s grasp and runs away.

“Oh no…what should I do now?!” The man lifelessly leans on the doorway.

“Amazing…people here refuses a good job. Maybe they are really that rich.” Eiru thought as he passes by the storefront. He doesn’t care at all and he wanted to be on his way.

However, as a pretty young boy looks, his appearance is easily noticeable and the man who is lifeless leaning on the doorway notices him.

“Um, you. That young maiden over there.” The man said as he approaches Eiru.

“Y-young maiden?!” Eiru exclaimed with a pale face as the man’s eyes are glittering together with being mistaken as a girl.

“Do you want a high-end job?! I mean…wow…look at you! You are, by far, one of the fairest maidens I have seen. It’s a shame you cut your hair short like that but we can easily fix that!” The man said as he grabs Eiru’s hands.

“W-What do you want?!” Eiru said as he struggles to break free from the man’s grasps.

“I need a model for a new dress that I made! I will give you the dress itself if it is a success and I will pay you quite hefty.” The man offered as he tries to pull Eiru inside.

“I can’t! I am not what you think! I am a ma--!” Before Eiru could finish his words, the man then intervenes.

“By the way, the dress itself ranges from ten to fifteen thousand gold and I am willing to pay you twenty thousand of gold.” The man said.

Eiru froze from the prices. He knew those numbers are no joke and judging from how well groomed the man is, he is a well-known personality and rich to boot to even pushes himself to pay such absurd amount of gold.

The words itself tickled Eiru’s greed.

Eiru let the man drag him inside while thinking how big his purse will become once he is paid. However, the strong feeling of his pride shattering once again can be heard as he is going to force himself to dress in drag…one more.
