Chapter 41: It is I, Ivy! 3

Time slowly stops and every cause and effects are reversed. Reysha casts World Lapse with only three seconds reversal to prevent any too much side effect. Her blade slowly and forcibly tore through the fraction of reality and disobeyed the natural law of physics.

As the World Lapse ends, Ivy found the sword inch away from her shoulder as Reysha made a diagonal slash. Having no idea of the World Lapse, Ivy wasn’t able to react in time from Reysha’s attack. The blade landed on Ivy, however…

THUD!

Instead of the blade tearing through the fabric of her clothes and proceeding to hack her body, the blade landed like it is dulled. Ivy Hellbeing, instead of getting slashed, was blown away.

“Wha--?! My sword didn’t go through?” Reysha said with a widened eye. Her sight followed where Ivy Hellbeing was thrown and glare at her.

“Ow--! That’s hurt! I think you just shattered my collarbone! No matter, my regeneration as a vampire will cover that…still…it hurts!” Ivy complained as she gently pats her shoulder while she stands up.

“Magic? No, it must be the clothes you are wearing.” Reysha asserted. She noticed that the clothes itself didn’t even have any damage. Magic could not have blocked because if it does, she shouldn’t have complained about the pain.

“That’s right. This is a refined dragon fiber made from dragon scales. Thoroughly processed through alchemy and enchanted and strengthened with magic to its upper limit. It does not tear easily, it repairs itself and most importantly, it does not stain because of its auto cleaning function.” Ivy said as she happily twirls around as she raises the skirt of her Gothic Lolita dress. “Of course, you primitives cannot make something like this!” she added.

“That’s really convenient…especially the cleaning function…” Reysha said with a little tinge with envy. Reysha has several clothes stored in her dimensional storage but they are bound to be washed too if they run out.

“Anyway, what the hell just happened…it seems like…you teleported…” Ivy asked as she grew wary of Reysha. A little earlier, she felt nothing much of Reysha’s existence, however, she deemed her dangerous.

“I am no idiot to tell every detail about myself or my power.” Reysha mocks Ivy as she charges her body with enhancement magic again while several fireballs started spinning around her.

“Wha--?! That’s unfair!!” Ivy complained as she prepared herself in haste to intercept Reysha’s attack.

With full power, Reysha and Ivy’s blade clashes and several elemental spells exploded.  The snow around them produces an exploding steam and the trees around sways as the force of their clash shook the very earth.

It was the first time Reyha truly lets out her full power knowing that her enemy has the same capabilities.

“Blaze Spear!” Reysha called as a whirling flame becomes pointed and started flying towards Ivy. However, for Ivy, such spell is also…primitive.

“Such spell? Hmph, learn the difference between this and yours. Fear the power of the Ancients, fear the power from the Frontier Age, Armlet of Icarus!” Ivy said as she boasts.

From her hand rises burning claws. Ivy raises the claw of flames and jumps in the air. Reysha who don’t even know what kind of attack Ivy will do instinctively flees. She immediately knew that there’s a huge difference between their magic philosophy and ideology.

As Ivy swings down the burning claw towards the burning spears that Reysha threw, the claws expanded greatly. Like a raving claw of a god from heavens, burning brightly that blinds any living creature that stares at it.

Reysha’s decision to immediately flee was correct. It seems that Ivy’s intention at this was only to boast so she was able to escape. As she runs, she also grabs Falikh who is still in the vicinity.

As the expanded claw was swung, every single tree, the land, and even the snow were mercilessly burned and hack making the ground looking like molten lava. The ground sizzles like charcoal and tree are burnt to ashes and snow return to being a steam.

“There’s nothing wrong with boasting but…this is too much.” Reysha mutters as her brows furrows with dismay. Falikh who is in her embraced also had the same thought and return his face to a default emotionless.

Reysha stares at Ivy with eyes full of anger as she saw the forest she was staring longingly burns. Falikh tugs Reysha’s clothes and she looks at him reactively.

“Miss Reysha…do you think you could teach her a thing or two?” Falikh said with empty tone. Reysha immediately notices that…this is how Camille speaks when she is irritated. She knew that Camille suppresses her negative emotions and dons a default face of nothingness.

“I already know what to do.” Reysha said as she left Falikh’s side.

Unconsciously, unknowingly, and most of all, undeniably, Reysha and Falikh, Depp and Camille, once again connected without them knowing. One emotion is transmitted to another in face of someone they dearly despise.

“World Lapse.” Reysha simply said as she flies in blur towards Ivy who is flying in the sky. In an instant too, she brought out a huge Warhammer that she held in her hand with ease.

Reysha knows, using World Lapse is very taxing. She immediately felt pain in her head slowly creeping the second time she uses it. However, the same rule is applied to a power rivaling her…such as stop time.

She deemed that Ivy’s stop time has certain rules and side effects. If that’s also the case, she is going to strike while the iron is hot. Within her own world, she swings the Warhammer directly to Ivy’s flank with all of her strength.

She can feel her head throbbing with pain as she released the World Lapse. As the flow of time runs again normally, Ivy, flew like railgun towards the ground and crashes like a meteor.

“AHHCCCKK!” Ivy cried as she bolted down the ground. Her blood splattered everywhere, but seconds later, it started to vanish.

Reysha descends from the ground slowly as she stares down at Ivy.

“You may deem cuts and slash ineffective, however, a blunt attack, a strong one at that, will surely break not just bones, but also your muscles and innards. The pain will haunt you even if you regenerate your body. If you do so, I will bash you again.” Reysha said as she landed on the ground and approach Ivy who is writhing on the ground.

“Ouch! It hurts! It really hurts!” Ivy cries as her vampiric power, the regeneration, hasn’t completely healed her wounds yet.

“Well then, how about I bash your cranium this time?” Reysha said as she raises her Warhammer again. Her eye shows no mercy and ready to for more if Ivy use stops time again.

Upon seeing the large hammer being raised overhead, Ivy’s body trembles at the very sight.

“NOOOO! Papa…help me! It hurts! Noo..! I don’t want it anymore!” Papa…!” She screams as she started crying while raising her arms to uselessly try to block Reysha’s attack. “Uhhh…no more…! I am sorry!” she said as she continued crying.

Reysha calmly put the Warhammer down. She didn’t expect such development but it didn’t faze her.

“In the end, you are just a child who will cry for your parents. I am also once a father and seeing this drains my motivation to fight.” Reysha said as she just kept her eyes on the crying Ivy.

She knows better. No father would want to see their son or daughter crying, much less, their grandchildren.

Reysha is mature enough to know when to stop.
