Two days have passed since Reysha gave up finding answers to her questions and decided to quietly observe the bandits together with secretly caring for Victoria. Spite of being an enemy months ago, she is still Reysha’s granddaughter from her previous life.
The current situation now is, however, quite different from their lazy life, especially Reysha’s everyday leeching off from the bandit’s pocket and eating Teth’s delicious foods, a situation where all of the bandits are except for the three more who aren’t introduced in the story yet.
Reysha sits in the garden of Mousseux and the bandits stand afar, lined up against the wall. In front of her are Falikh and Victoria walking back and forth.
The atmosphere is severely serious but in fact, it comes off as comical…
“Say, if I get angry, you two will take responsibility, right?” Reysha said with a stale voice that seemed a bit tired.
“Y-your words are quite daring but the tone behind it sure is scary, little Reysha…” Victoria said with a complicated expression.
“Worry not, Miss Reysha for we bring you knowledge!!” Falikh grandly announces with a daunting pose that looked silly and idiotic.
Upon Falikh’s announcement, everyone claps from the background except the one who is about to be the victim of today’s turmoil, Reysha. It is the turmoil of exploring something unknown and for all Reysha know, this will be harder than conquering a dungeon.
“So…what kind of insane game are you planning to make me do? Well, in the end, I have my own rights to refuse.” Reysha said while knitting her eyebrows.
“A game? Nay! This is a special training to unlock your hidden potential, Miss Reysha! We will show you the light at the end of the tunnel, a revelation! This is a trial to unlock the hidden skill, Host Mode!” Falikh shouted as he snaps his finger and pointed it towards Reysha.
“I knew it…I’m going now!” Reysha angrily growls as she jolted up from her seat. However, before she could even take one step, Falikh’s words stop her.
“Miss Reysha, you are getting a little pudgy around your belly lately, right?” Falikh grins impishly.
Reysha immediately stops at her track upon those words. A flashback to her early dilemma assaulted her mind as she was having a little trouble with her belly sticking out a little. She pinches her stomach and some cute pudgy fats were dragged along.
“Eh? Really? Hey, girls with a little fat are quite cute ya know! I’d like to rub my hands on your belly little Reysha!” Victoria’s face becomes delighted upon hearing that Reysha got a little fat.
“Of all the people who will notice! Damn…Teth’s dishes are the real enemy! I never knew that I’ll get infuriated by such matter!” Reysha’s anguished monologue further dampens her mood.
“But it won’t change how I think of it! Whether I gain a little fat or not, it won’t persuade me to join your stupid game!” Reysha declares.
“Wait! You are free today right?! You are just going to laze around and use observing us as an excuse while you delightfully enjoy Teth’s cooking!” Falikh desperately stops her from going with the excessive amount of reality slap.
He perfectly described Reysha’s lifestyle that’s becoming depraved with each passing day.
“Fine, I’ll play your game!” Reysha grumbled in slight anger upon losing to Falikh. She didn’t know that having her belly sticks out a little will put her in a really bad mood. “So, tell me what I should do to acquire this Host Mode!” Reysha roared angrily.
Stolen from its rightful place, this narrative is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.
“Oh! Little Reysha is finally up to the challenge!” Victoria exclaimed with delight as Reysha showed some fighting spirit.
“Woooh! Way to go!”
A cheer suddenly resounds the place and everyone clapped that further put a strain on Reysha’s mind. Reysha could only sigh at the mistake that she has done.
“So, what should be the first thing I should be doing?” Reysha asked tiredly with a voice of resignation.
“First, you must learn from the teacher about the basic knowledge! That’s why Miss Reysha, seek him out there!” Falikh said as he pointed deeper to the forest.
“Ahh…you mean that guy? I guess this is all about those remaining three guys that are always missing, right?” Reysha guessed and Falikh smirked.
“It is as you said! Seek out the three Sages of the Bandit Host Club and you will gain the knowledge of Host Mode!” Falikh once again said with grandeur.
“Meaning, it is three trials of pain in the arse.” Reysha inwardly thought. “Fine, like what I said earlier, I am going to play your game!” she added with a tone of resolve. She then started walking in the direction Falikh pointed.
As she gets a little farther from the band of bandits, the audible cheering was heard that resulted in worsening her mood.
As soon as the noise transitioned from the cheering of the fools to the peaceful chirping of the birds amidst the spring season. The trees bustle a little and the leaves made a pleasant sound that somehow, elevated her mood.
The pleasant breeze of the forest started brushing off to her skin that made a little shiver in her spine but felt refreshing. She can smell the rising odor of the soil but it indicated nothing sort of foulness to it. Since she is going deeper into the forest, wild animals started appearing.
Small and cute animals such as rabbit, squirrels, some small birds, and even insects. Before she knew it, her lips broke out into a smile as some animals of the same species play with each other, especially the young animals.
“Maybe I’m just too focused on them that I forgot that this kind of beauty exists. I am still waiting for Ivy and Aspara to come back here. They might have a solution already for the dimensional crack. Well, until then, I might as well amuse myself…I hope…” Reysha talked to herself. She crouches down in a feminine manner and beckons a squirrel to come to her.
The squirrel, deeming Reysha to be non-hostile, curiously climbs atop of her palm and crawl towards her shoulder. It smelled her several times before it let its guard down.
“Oh, aren’t you a cute one?” Reysha said towards the squirrel. In an instant, the squirrel left her shoulder and land on the ground. It then chases another squirrel as if they are playing.
Always been fascinated by nature, always been fascinated by animals, Reysha’s lips made a sweet smile as she indulges herself at the moment’s respite brought by nature.
“I’d be laughed at by Yrsha if she ever heard that I got a little fat…” She chuckled to herself. “I’d rather get this bothersome game finished before sunset…” Reysha said as she walks again.
However, after several minutes of walking again, she stumbles upon a boulder with a perfectly spherical shape.
In her confusion about the weird monument, she tilted her head.
“Ha, so you’ve come, chosen one! The seeker of Knowledge!” A man suddenly appeared behind the boulder.
The man, like the other bandits, is handsome. He has a slick black hair tied in a low ponytail and green eyes that portrays an unyielding gale in it. His height is above average and his built leans on the slim side. He wears a cape common among sleuths, one thing that stands out the most.
“So, what are you playing at now, Zirk.” Reysha asked with dead eyes.
As Reysha said, the man's name is Zirk, the eleventh bandit.
Zirk is a former teacher who has gone bad because of his fail ethics in teaching. Normally, he is smart and gives wise words but his personality, or rather, his interpersonal skill is just poor, however, such flaw didn’t become a hindrance for Falikh so being scouted was a walk in the park.
“Fufufu…mwahaha…Hahaha! Why do you seek knowledge? Oops! You don’t need to answer that, I already know! I, the sage, is all knowing!!” Zirk laughs manically.
“Fear not, young one! I, Zirk, will give you gui---!” at that moment, Zirk’s words were interrupted.
“Shut up, you. No matter what you say, I have proven to be smarter and wiser than you.” Reysha simply said with another sigh.
“Urk! At least let me finish my introduction! That may be the truth but still, that shouldn’t be the cause of your rudeness!” Zirk angrily shouted at Reysha.
“My rudeness stems from my own personality. You can’t do anything about that.” Reysha simply brushes off his enraged statement.
“Hmph, no can do about that! Well then, Miss Reysha, shall we start your trial!?” Zirk asked.
“Oh boy…” Reysha could only mutter under her breath.
