Reysha was able to barely escape. The best achievement she acquired at the battle was the perfect deception using the identity of Black Knight who also garnered Ersha’s wrath and surely will become Kerias Kingdom’s top wanted criminal.
She was able to stop the advance the Kerias Kingdom’s advance for a suitable time, however, for Reysha, she doesn't have any idea why it was necessary for her to do such risky thing. Only Falikh knows everything behind his own plan.
Meanwhile, at the Breille Army’s Camp, two men watch the uncountable amount of knights and soldiers gathered.
The Breille Kingdom has no intention of marching towards the Kerias Kingdom instead, they made a camp in front of the forest where Falikh and his band lives. Unlike Kerias, Breille Kingdom has lesser capabilities when it comes to military magic battle, however, Breille Kingdom’s Army has a lot more chances of winning when it comes to territorial fight.
Unlike Kerias with few forests and mostly plains of grass and farmlands, Breille is a land with a lot of forests, slopes, hills, mountains, and rivers. They also have farmlands which they imitated from the Kerias Kingdom. For them, a direct siege from Kerias Kingdom’s side will be beneficial for them.
Falikh has already foreseen such situation and had Reysha stall Kerias Kingdom’s advances. Even if they are magically stronger than Breille Kingdom’s army, the chances that they will win would be low. Most likely, only Ersha would survive such tragedy if it were to happen.
However, stalling both armies has also their each respective purpose other than preventing them to clash. Falikh and the other bandits cooked up something for them.
Back to the two men who are lurking around the Breille’s army…
“Damn it! Why do we have to lose in that rock paper scissor game!? Now we are doing this job!” Furan curses as he bit his lip
“Calm down Furan. The night sky and the illuminating moonlight will be our greatest guidance in dire needs!~” Morio sang in a low voice.
“This one has no qualms about it but…It is Falikh’s plan so it is bound to work. Morio, it’s you and me for now…” Furan despaired voice rang out with a hint of hopelessness.
“It is as you said, Furan.” Morio replied with a smirk.
The only magic user in the group, Furan and the bard, Morio, are looking at the barricade made by the soldiers made out of hard brick and fortified with a metal foundation.
“Morio, do you remember the plan?” Furan sheepishly asked the fellow bandit.
“Burn down their food supply and make them pull back.” the bard said with brutal hand gestures while making weird expressions.
“Yeah…what I am worried about is the plan B when plan A fails.” Furan grinned as he already knows the consequence when both fail but a little bit denial.
“Ah, the runaway and become a decoy,” Morio said with a huge beaming smile on his face.
“That, that! In the first place, infiltrating that fortress will be like finding a needle in the whole field of wheat. “ the small-time magician described accurately.
“If plan B fails and we are caught…”
“…what was it again? I already know it but…” Furan still denies it a little in the corner of his heart.
“Pray for our lives and wait for Miss Reysha to rescue us…” Morio said with a sigh.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
“This half-assed plan Falikh made!” Furan angrily said but the smile never faded from his face.
The two already know what will happen to them if their mission fails more than necessary. However, something about the plan made them happy and joyful for some reasons.
“Well, since it is Falikh’s plan, everything will turn out interesting as usual! I trust him and his guts after all!” Furan proudly said.
“I trust him too. His tales will be a good song for generations to come.” Morio added as he took out a musical instrument, a lute with special silver engravings.
“…Or do we?” Furan impishly implied such doubt.
“Hahaha! No matter! If we are going to do it, let’s go!” Furan said as he stands up, however, before he could even stand upright, something flew above his head.
“Ah…we’re doomed!~” Morio sang in half joy and half terror as an arrow almost shave his cranium.
Furan and Morio fail plan A in a heartbeat…so of course, their next course it to…
“”RUN AWAY!”” they said with synchronized voices.
“Spies! Follow them! Round up your horses! Don’t let them get away!” One of the soldiers said and the camp immediately became alerted.
Since their forces are large, they divided it into twenty-four divisions with the largest one is placed here, near the forest.
However, it was their mistake to use the horse in the dead of the night inside the forest.
The people of Breille Army is aware of the forest’s complexness, however, they haven’t reached deeper yet where Falikh’s and the bandit’s base is located.
For Furan and Morio and to all the bandits, the whole forest is like their very own playground, from the entrances where the army of Breille Kingdom set up their fort towards the vast horizon where the end is the boundary of Demon Kingdom.
“Follow them use your magic to trace them!” One of the soldiers said the impossible since maneuvering the horse would be tragic inside the forest.
Meanwhile, Morio and Furan are…
“Hey, use some magic or anything to fool them!” Morio said as he runs while keeping the lute close to his chest.
“Haaa?! You think I am some high-level magician?! Are you an idiot?! Why do YOU use something!? Magic up, attack up, speed up, defense up, luck up, or anything! That’s what bards are good at, right?!” Furan shouted to the Bard with a pale complexion.
“THOSE ARE JUST MYTHS ABOUT US BARDS! WE’LL MOST LIKELY DIE IF YOU BELIEVE I CAN DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT!” Morio said in a panic.
The two run at full speed while circling around the forest they are familiar with. Their first and second plan would most likely fail, however, Falikh already knew such result. The whole plans for the two were ruse and the true plan was already in motion when the two started running away.
At certain someone’s location…
“Spies?! I can’t believe that the Kerias Kingdom will use such low handed tactics! Well, this is war anyway so anything goes…” A woman with beautiful lustrous hair and tantalizing aqua eyes said as she heard the report from a soldier. She wore an armor fit for a knight but her charm as a woman still overpowers such heavy metal clinging to her body.
“Yes! What do you want to do, General Ries?” the soldier asked with strong vigor towards his superior, Ries D’Levierre, a high-ranking noblewoman who is known for her lineage.
“Pursue them at all cost! We cannot let our position, plans, and tactics to be revealed at these crucial times!” she powerfully said as she steps out from the fort together with her second in command.
The man bowed and hurriedly left Ries.
As the soldier left, a rustling sound was heard in the bushes near the fort. Ries and her second in command naturally become hostile towards it, knowing that there are spies lurking around their camp.
“Who’s there?! Show yourself in this very instant!” Ries shouted as she brandishes her sword and began filling it with magic.
“Wait…!” A pained voice of a man resounded. The man wearing tattered clothes usually worn by Breille’s normal citizen came out of the bushes limply. His body is covered in blood and he has cut everywhere.
“Please, help me…I’ve lost so much blood.” The man begged.
Ries, upon seeing the man, has her stomach filled with butterflies as the man shows extraordinary handsomeness. His brown frizzy hair becomes an instant charm to her and his beautiful eyelashes that are too good to be true immediately captivated her.
“It’s working, the honey trap!” the man, Amadeo inwardly said. It was Falikh’s real plan. He only used Furan and Morio as baits and gave Amadeo the hardest part of their mission, seducing…or is it the easiest part.
“Y-Y-Yes! I’ll be much obliged to help a citizen of our kingdom!” Ries nervously said as her eyes are locked on Amadeo’s face.
“Every single piece of information, whether they are major or minor, will be a factor in Falikh’s plan. Eiru said that one of the generals in the Breille kingdom is a woman and so, it was a hit!” Amadeo inwardly cheered. However, in the very next instant…his face pales…
The reason for his change in countenance is…
“Second in command, Lala Forchure, please call our medics!” Ries said as the familiar woman with platinum indigo hair and eyes who they robbed in the forest months ago appears before him.
