The Family of Einhart has five members excluding branch families. The main family has four branch-families that directly serve the main family. Each of the four families is tasked with four cities in their domain and are to govern it.
Economics, business trades, large-scale constructions and roadwork, and almost all of the labor for the enrichment of the people’s lives are the jobs of the branch families while the main family, The Einhart Household, the concentration of the Kerias Kingdom’s military prowess, fulfill their duty as the protector.
There’s also the awareness of the branch families that the head, Seran Einhart, is a massive dunce when it comes to hard politics and commerce. The only saving grace is the wise and intelligent Mirsha Einhart, the esteemed wife and an adept magician.
It can’t be said that there’s no friction between the main family and the branch families, however, everyone acknowledges Seran Einhart’s military prowess, strength, and influence in the royal family, or rather, Seran is a childhood friend of the king.
It was no doubt that the Einhart Household is one of the proudest and strongest noble house in the Kerias Kingdom.
They are a lineage of great warriors that have protected and served the people of the kingdom from long ago, however, right now, the Household of Einhart is facing a crisis that never happened before in their long-lasting history.
“So, my precious daughters, when will one of you will get married?” Asked by a man with a strong and burly body noticeable even with a set of simple yet stylish clothing made for nobles. His strong-willed countenance is right now painted with a sullen expression.
Currently, the Einhart family is having their dinner.
It was the next night after Reysha and her sisters arrived. It seems that their parents laid off the question in the first day they reunited as a whole family in a while, however, it seems tonight, they wanted to hear a decision from the sisters.
“I have a duty to fulfill, not to mention, I am now serving as representative as a whole for our family in the capital. I live for my kingdom and will die for my kingdom.” Ersha firmly answered without batting an eye as she eats.
“This again, Ersha…You are already twenty-seven years of age and yet, you still refuse for a marriage! We recommended a lot of possible and the best suitors but you haven’t chosen anyone. When you are past thirty years of age, it will be harder for you to put a ring on your finger.” Mirsha Einhart, a baby-faced with the same shade of night hair as the sisters but has astoundingly clearer topaz irises, said in frustration.
“And what?! Become a secluded housewife of some man I don’t even want to marry? It will just be a life full of hubris and nonsense. My calling is on the battlefield and I will be raised and die on the battlefield.” Ersha once again firmly worded her thoughts as she looks at her mother’s eyes with unshakable resolve.
BAM
Mirsha Einhart slams her palm on the table, though I did not create a louder sound that one would expect, it still gathered everyone’s attention, servants included.
“This is all your fault for raising her to be a meathead like you!” Mirsha pointed at Seran who now sprouts a dumbfounded countenance as he shrinks away.
“P-Pointing fingers won’t change what has done now, my dear…and that’s bad manners…” Seran answered as he cooled his calm.
“This has been a long-term discussion…I just want it to end. Next is…” Mirsha bats an eye to Yrsha with a sharp glare.
“Geh!” Yrsha jerks from her seat a little as she immediately felt the stare of her mother.
“Yrsha, how’s your life as a professor in the academy? Found and lifelong partner? Any potential marriage candidate?” Mirsha barrages her with questions.
“Eh…umm…Yeah, handsome men flocks around me like honeybees attracted to the best honey out there. A joining of pistil and stamen!~ I apologize, mother, I am sullied daughter already so please do not mind me anymore.” Yrsha put on a performance to fool Mirsha.
“Cut the nonsense, Yrsha. You reek of the smell of a virgin.” Mirsha flatly said with cold eyes.
“Geez! Don’t just bluntly blurt that out! It’s very unbecoming of you, mother!” Yrsha protested with inflated cheeks.
“What shall I do with you girls…” Seran holds his head in dismay.
“I know right, dear.” Mirsha backed Seran’s words.
The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.
“That also includes you.” Seran rebutted.
“I was scolding Yrsha…” Mirsha replied with a troubled countenance.
“I don’t want to get married yet! There are floors of libraries that I haven’t explored yet! That I haven’t read yet! I want to accumulate knowledge and cram it all in my head! I love the feeling of euphoria when I answer a question none can answer!” Yrsha fervently announces in front of the dining with a proud and satisfied countenance.
After that, Yrsha sat down once again on her chair and resumed with her plates. The whole place was filled with silence and the servants are doing nothing but sprouts a smile.
“Actually, we’re already used to this.” The united thoughts of the servants present in the room.
“This time, it’s your fault.” Seran directed those words to Mirsha.
“…Me?!” Mirsha softly shouted with widened eyes.
“Remember? You keep spoiling her with books, books, and more spell books from that woman! If you had just controlled yourself from indulging her from magic, we could possibly remedy her obsession.” Seran spoke once again with knitted brows.
“Hey, don’t mention her in front of our daughters…I know that we’ve been through a lot but… Okay, okay, I admit fault, just don’t bring her up.” Mirsha shook her head after bringing forth such longing tone.
“Fine, fine. And…lastly…” Seran’s eyes awkwardly swam towards Reysha who, until now, has been listening quietly while enjoying her meal.
“What?” Reysha’s sharp and unfaltering voice immediately snaps the momentary silence.
“Reysha…you’re cuter than this…” Seran replied with a troubled expression as his gaze slowly falls to Mirsha to ask for help.
“Reysha, don’t you think it’s time to quit being an adventurer. You already did quite a feat, or so I heard. There was once a gossip that you took down a wild dragon all by yourself but I haven’t received any authentic news about it. I hope you are not doing anything dangerous.” Mirsha’s eyes fondly watch Reysha.
“Dangerous? I haven’t done such a…” Reysha was about to answer Mirsha’s worried query, however, she immediately cut herself off.
The memory of her fight against the army of her own kingdom in the disguise of the black knight, the battle between her and Demon Lord Ivy that even led to the opening of an unknown dimensional crack, the hard and undecisive fight with Archbishop of the Mesola Kingdom whose power greatly rivals hers or more.
“Maybe I did a little but those are trivial things now.” Reysha continued nonchalantly.
“We cannot have that, Reysha. You may have fought off all of your suitors years ago but we will make sure that this time, it will be different. In the stead of your two sisters who has weird obsessions, please get married.” Seran pleaded.
Reysha raises an eyebrow and ready to give her firm reply, however, before she can even open her mouth, Ersha and Yrsha both stood up from their seats.
“Father, we cannot also have that. Reysha is only exclusive for us! We cannot let some other men or anyone out there to have her!” Ersha strongly protested with slight pressure.
“Reysha is our personal to- I mean this family’s treasure. No man can ever be born in this world that will be a perfect fit for her.” Yrsha also exclaimed strongly. “Not to mention it’s getting dangerous outside. There’s a gossip that the Black Knight that Ersha fought has been sighted in our domain.” Yrsha added with a mischievous smile as she looks at Reysha.
“WHAT?! Why am I not informed of this?! That bastard!” Ersha got heated upon the word Black Knight entered her ears.
“Ersha, the Black Knight that you spoke of before, is he really that strong?” Seran asked with eyes full of blaze and curiosity to Ersha.
“Yeah. He did bested me and Yrsha at our own game.” Ersha answered bitterly.
“I see. That Black Knight, huh? If he is in our domain, there is something about to happen. If he ever shows up, we, the Einhart, will give no leeway in taking down that person.” Seran smiled with fierceness returning to his countenance.
“As expected of father. We shall show him the Einhart’s prided sword mastery.” Ersha also smiled as she balled her knuckles.
“All of you…we are in the middle of dinner, remember?” Mirsha called out in a soft but scolding tone.
Upon her words, Yrsha and Ersha once again retreated to their seat in unison and continue their meal, however, one of the family has become rather tense and pale.
It was Reysha.
She wanted to stare hard at Yrsha but dismissed the thought. She is unsure whether Yrsha knows of it or not and why do Yrsha spout words about the Black Knight.
Reysha wanted to regain her calm as fast as possible so she tried picking up the pace of her meal again, however, at the next moment, a maid entered the dining room.
“Sir, Madam, this is urgent. A visitor claiming to be a friend of Lady Reysha has come and currently waiting outside the manor.” The maid said with urgency.
“Friend…?” Reyhsa tilted her head upon those words.
“Such in the dusk of the night? How rude and disrespectful.” Mirsha spouted words of disdain.
“Not only that, dear. He claimed to be Reysha’s friend. A friend would not intrude this late. Surely it must only be a sham.” Seran deducted.
“I shall go see this myself. Please pardon me.” Reysha said as she swiftly left her chair.
“Reysha!” Mirsha worriedly shouted but Reysha showed no intention of stopping.
Through the large hall of the Einhart Household, Reysha marches with indignation and irritation. Her mood was greatly fouled and her lips cannot stop making a frown.
With worried thoughts lingering in her mind, Reysha cannot calm down and the reason she immediately left the dining table is to at least compose herself.
But, fate stored a much worse surprise, or pleasant, than she thought.
Upon outside the residence of the Einhart Household, a largely built carriage immediately entered her eyes. Outside the fence stood a man with two of the Einhart’s House guards keeping an eye on him.
However, Reysha’s mood immediately elates or rather, she became even more restless as the identity of the man immediately came bearing on her.
“Yo, Lady Reysha.” The man politely bowed at Reysha, however, only a knitted brow and slight bow were returned.
“What are you doing here?” Reysha coldly asked the man.
“Isn’t that obvious? Two of our important guess will have their own escorts so of course, we cannot let the birthday celebrant celebrate without one, right?” Winked by the man.
The man is Falikh.
His usual golden hair is dyed in hazy brown and his velvet gem-like eyes are now topped with contact lenses to hide his identity, however, for Reysha, his presence alone immediately gave away his identity.
“So this is your game…” Reysha said coupled with a deep sigh.
