Chapter 37: The Snowy Talk 3

Chapter 37: The Snowy Talk 3

Back at the mansion, The Mosseux, Teth’s figure can be seen in the living room, a man of house, the one who loves cleaning and cooking. Even back when he was a bartender, Teth has never drinks too much liquor for the reason so he can still do a follow up tidying.

Noticing that beside Reysha and Amadeo, Spoof together with Sod and Mes are also absent from the vicinity.

However, it doesn’t mean the problem in the mansion has lessened. From the front door of the mansion, Furan stands there as he wraps his body with a scarf to battle against the cold.

“Oh, going somewhere?” Teth asked as he approached Furan in the front of the large door. Furan turns to him as he continued wrapping the fluffy scarf around his neck.

“Yeah, tell everyone that I will be returning by night. Well, not that they care where I go.” Furan said as he shrugged his shoulder while smirking.

“By night? What happened? The snow is falling and the cold may be a little harsh.” Teth cautions Furan.

“That’s the reason I am heading out! A housewife from a nearby village outside the forest is alone and frustrated. I will give her a visit to warm her up because her husband left her for a journey.” Furan explained with a wry grin on his face.

“Goodness…you never learn…” Teth could only mutter as he shook his head.

“A relationship such as that spices up my life. I could never experience that thrill with single, unmarried girls. Well, later.” Furan said as his last words before leaving.

As Furan left, Teth continued cleaning up by sweeping here and there. He wants to cook as early as possible but since Falikh and the others will wind up with a heavy hangover, he prepared medicines for them.

He knows that he has a whole day ahead of him and wants Amadeo back as soon as possible because he was one of the bandits that help with the chores. Since the creation of Mousseux, the simple wooden and overrun shack becomes a mansion with dozens of rooms prepared for the whole band of bandits and possible guests such as Reysha.

Every room is donned with complete furniture from the highest class. It is also installed with washroom and a giant bath with water runes and heating runes that they bought from the territory of Kerias, though illegally.

Even with the flashy appearance of the mansion, chances that people will find this place is really low. The forest itself serves as their natural defense and they don’t have much problem with food.

What gives Teth a smile that most is the new kitchen in which he can deeply delve in cooking. Stoves, pots, and everything else he wanted as cooking utensils are now readily available and not only that, there are a collection of liquors for him to serve that gives him nostalgia of his bar keeping days.

The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

“Fufufu, you look lively.” Mika teases as he descends from upstairs.

“Well, we got a nice and comfy roof above our heads before winter came. Of course, I’ll be. Last year was some icy hell for all of us.” Teth said as he kept his hand moving by picking up some bottles.

“I remember that. We have to retreat towards the mountains to take shelter from the blizzard. That’s how we met those girls. I think that this year, luck came altogether to us. I do wonder why are we working hard as a bandit?” Mika said with nostalgic filled eyes. As the unlit hall of the mansion, his eyes glimmer with happiness.

“Aren’t we all doing this because Falikh asked us? That boy…Lady Luck is on his side. Makes me think he is some kind of blessed child or something.” Teth jokingly said while enjoying Mika’s company.

“Not only that, that kind of luck…made everything much more different when Reysha came. That girl, it is not an exaggeration to say that she became Falikh’s leash or some sort.” Mika followed up Teth’s statement and confirmed it.

“True. I feel like…there’s a connection between the two of them. It’s faint, but…I just…have this hunch. The stopping of war, becoming one of our assets, giving us connections inside her own kingdom, and now, blending as our companion. Miss Reysha is really something else.” Teth counted everything that Reysha did for them. “I won’t be surprised if she got pulled by fate towards us for this purpose.” He added with an assured face.

“Everything happens for a reason…huh. It is one of the things that Falikh always say. Well, talking about it, is our plan for the upcoming spring ready?” Mika asked Teth with a serious face.

“No doubt about it. Since the creation of Mousseux, we can now proceed to our next plan like what Falikh wanted. For now, we have enough resources to survive the winter. All we can do now is to wait until all the flowers bloom.” Teth replied with the same serious tone.

“FURAN YOU WEASEL! WHERE ARE YOU?!” Shouted by a man as he came out from a room downstairs.

From a certain room comes a man with hair neatly combed to the side and dons a glasses used for reading. His appearance is uptight and has stern eyes. His posture is straight but his expression is someone blowing his fuse.

“What is your problem again with him, Dick?” Mika asked as his sight directs to the man.

“Stop calling me that! I told you many times already, Hreldick!” The man, Dick, protested. “Or Reld! Do you really find it funny when I am losing it?!” he added with a face as red as a volcano.

“Calm down, don’t let Mika’s teasing get the best out of you. What happened by the way?” Teth tried to quell Reld’s boiling anger but it didn’t work.

“Furan picked up some gold again! Where did he go?!” Reld exploded.

Hreldick D’Losswald, a noble of low standing, however, his diligent and honest in his job back then as a tax collector gave him a good reputation among the communities of nobles in the Mesola Kingdom.

An upright man that loves order above all, second to it would be money. Reld is someone who is deeply in love with coins and anything with monetary value.

He is not, by any means, greed. Reld is obsessed with the very essence of monetary value itself. He often enjoys counting gold and such that he does it more than thrice a day even if the value won’t change.

His fascination for spending bills is what made him the treasurer of the group and does all the implementation of budgeting and such…which never obeyed…even once.

The reason he stopped being a tax collector is simple.

He got outcasts by the community he believed that he belongs. Falik picked him up from the slums and invited him to be a bandit in which he accepted without second thought.

“Umm…Furan said he’ll be back by night. He went out…for some housewife again.” Teth explained nervously albeit mildly. He wasn’t sure whether it was a good or bad thing.

Mika from the side only laughs softly as Reld’s face trembles.

“Again?! He took some gold and ran away?! Damn him!” Reld curses as he stomps back to the room where he came from earlier.
