“Are you going to meet with the government tomorrow? That’s the day you told them that you’d meet with them,” Enleed asked.
“Yes. I’ll be returning to Earth tomorrow morning. What about you guys?”
“We don’t need to return yet. We’ll be staying for a few more days. We might return for a few hours at a time to buy food and other things we might need inside the dungeon. Even though Enleed insisted that we should eat the food here just like the local adventurers, Armina and Blake wanted the food that they’re used to,” Sam said while Blake and Armina rolled their eyes at him.
“We’ll try the food here of course, but slowly. I don’t want to shock my system of eating hard bread and dried meat as hard as leather,” Armina said.
“We do have storage rings and we can use them to store fresh food,” Sam said but Armina just ignored him while Blake glared at him.
“They want to live like adventurers but still want the luxury of modern Earth,” Enleed whispered to Mark although everyone heard him.
“That’s not a problem. I’ve been doing that ever since I’ve arrived in this world,” Mark said.
“It’s different for you. You were gifted with a humongous inventory and magic that let you copy anything you stored there. It’s different with us. I imagine that if for some reason we get stuck here, we will need to get used to the items here,” Enleed said.
“I understand that and if we don’t have a choice, then we’ll do that but for now, since we still have the choice to return to Earth, why let ourselves suffer? I imagine that if that situation happened wherein we’re stuck, we can adapt then but for now, let’s enjoy the privilege that was given to us by Mark to be able to transfer to two different worlds anytime we want,” Blake commented.
Mark understood that Sam and Enleed wanted to experience the full adventurer life in another world trope while Armina and Blake wanted the best of both worlds. If he were the one who was asked, he would be with team Armina and Blake. Why not enjoy the benefits of modern life in the fantasy world if you have the power to do so? He didn’t say it though and just let their group handle themselves.
At first, Mark thought that he would be joining his friends in their adventure in the dungeon but the very fact that he could sweep the lower level dungeons without any issues would probably bore his friends to death, and the fact that it might affect their leveling he decided to just let them be at least until they catch up with him. It might take a long time but no one was pressuring them so they could take their time.
“What kind of spells are you buying?” Mark suddenly asked everyone.
“Sad to say that we're choosing the spells that we’re buying towards making sure that we survive well on Earth if worse comes to worst. That meant that for now, we would be relying on your items to fight our way into the dungeon,” Sam said.

“It was Blake who advised us to do it that way since we have the option of relying on your weapons. Once we have plenty of funds, we can still select the spells geared toward killing the monsters in this world,” Armina told Mark.
“If we didn’t have a choice, we would have gone towards pure offense towards the monsters,” Enleed said.
Mark understood that it meant that his friends were choosing spells that would help them conceal themselves from the government.
“By the way, did you know that Blake brought a gun and tested it towards the monsters?” Sam suddenly said to Mark.
Mark's eyes went wide then asked what was the result.
“The monsters died after a few shots which, to be honest with you I didn’t expect. But we discovered something interesting. For some reason cold weapons interrupt the flow of mana and that resulted in the one who used the gun not gaining any experience,” Blake said.
That information was a revelation to Mark.
“Can you please inform Donald and Robert about that? Even though using guns is not recommended, it would still be a good idea to have some on hand for emergency purposes,” Mark said to the group.
“That was what I was thinking as well,” Blake commented.
“I’ll tell Robert and Donald tomorrow before we leave,” Sam assured Mark.
“I’ll be leaving for Earth early so I might not have the chance to see them,” Mark said.
After their talk and dinner, they went to their RVs to rest.
The next day during breakfast, he told everyone that he would be going back to Earth to deal with the government there. He asked them to look after the kids and Milena told him to rest easy.
“We don’t plan to open the convenience store today since we’ll be busy sorting out all the items that we purchased from your planet,” Milena said energetically, and even Nedertu and Connor looked excited since the majority of their purchases were considered men’s toys. They even purchased a couple of dirt bikes.
The twins' and Liriel’s attention was actually not on Mark but on the mountain of toys that was in the living room, their beds, and Mark’s bed.
After he said his goodbyes, Mark went to the Warp Gate located in the center of the circle of RVs. He activated the gate and returned to the safe house mansion that Donald owned.
When he arrived there, there were a few guards outside the room where the gate was established. He asked one of them to bring him to a diner that was somewhat far from the safe house.
After about an hour, they arrived at a stereotypical diner. Mark thanked the guard, ordered a coffee, and waited inside. After a few minutes, a couple of people arrived and sat in front of him. It was a woman who looked very professional and a man who looked like a movie-style FBI agent. He knew that the people from the government would find him and arrive soon after since his phone was on.
“Good morning Mr. Baker. I’m Sophia Adrid, a professor of Neuroscience from Caltech and this is Major Dorman. We are your new contact with the government and we believe you wanted your relationship with the US government to remain amicable. Can we invite you to our offices so we can talk terms?” The woman who called herself a professor said.
Mark simply nodded and followed the couple to their car. The SUV had a driver while Sophia and Major Dorman joined him at the back.
“Aren’t you afraid we’ll do nefarious things to you like capture you to experiment on you?” Sophia said with a smile while Major Dorman snorted while glaring at Sophia.
“Why do you think I will think that that is a possibility?”
“I’ve read your profile and I believe you’re a nerd. One thing I know is nerds since Caltech has plenty of them and most of their actions and beliefs are predictable.”
“Just like Professor Sheldon Cooper from Caltech?” Mark said.
“Who is Professor Sheldon Cooper?” Major Dorman asked.
Both Sophia and Mark laughed when they heard the man from the army ask that but Sophia answered the major.
“He’s a fictional character who is a theoretical physicist from Caltech the show The Big Bang Theory.”
The major rolled his eyes at both Mark and Sophia who kept on laughing.
