The night arrived at the circus and everything seemed to become livelier, possibly brought on by the magic lights that appeared to brighten up the place. The colored lights and the growing number of customers added to the excitement that permeated the place. The decorations that were based on the Star Wars films kept increasing making the circus look like a different planet in the Star Wars universe.
On every customer’s lips, the names of the characters, the planets, the names of the spaceships, and everything Star Wars could be heard and this was just the people seeing the first film Episode IV: A New Hope. One couldn’t imagine what would happen if the customers had already seen the rest of the films in the franchise.
Inside the RV, Mark prepared dinner for everyone and after eating, everyone exited the RV to assist other members of the circus in managing the place due to the increasing number of customers.
While Mark was watching the television together with the children Hamil and Solinae arrived.
“Mark, The city gave their approval in activating the Warp Gate so tomorrow we’ll start opening the gate every 10 in the morning and midnight for an hour each,” Hamil said when they entered the RV.
“We’re worried that 16 computers in the gaming tent wouldn’t be enough for our customers especially once our old customers from Narcone arrived. Would you consider adding some more?” Solinae asked.
“I couldn’t add more computers since if we do, we’ll start experiencing issues with the servers and the programming of the game. As you know, I’m going to invite my friends from where I was originally from and they are also experts when it comes to the technology from my planet. I will ask them for help and see what we can do about the gaming tents.”
“So you have truly decided then to return home and invite your friends?” Hamil asked.
“Yes. The circus is now my home since I have no more family from where I was from but my friends, they’re the same people as me. They would enjoy life here in this world and even possibly relocate here. They may not necessarily stay in the circus since more than likely, they would become adventurers. If I hadn’t met the circus back then, I would have become an adventurer diving into the dungeons of this planet.”
“Your friends, are they as powerful as you are?” Hamil asked.
“No. I’m an anomaly,” Mark simply answered and Hamil and Solinae just nodded.
“We’ll begin showing Star Wars Episode IV, V, and VI in each of the theater tents and we’ll also open the gaming tents tomorrow,” Hamil said.
“When are you going to invite your friends here?” Solinae asked.
“Maybe after two days once the circus here stabilized. Right now, the customers from Melona are in a frenzy but they should calm down in a day or two. I hope.” Mark said and Hamil and Solinae just laughed.
The next day the warp gate activated and droves of people from Narcone arrived. Mark could see the excitement of the young people that entered the gate and most of them ran towards the theater tents and the gaming tents.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.
Mark understood that those young men and women just missed the films and the Star Wars online game but once they had calmed down, they would realize that they had traveled such a long way and would begin exploring not only the circus but the city of Melona itself.
Mixed among the crowd were soldiers from both cities both to monitor and to prevent trouble from citizens of both cities. It was one of the agreements that was reached by the circus and the two cities.
There was a huge difference between the customers and the people from the circus though. All the circus people were wearing Star Wars-themed costumes. The young idle people were eyeing the costumes though and Mark knew that soon, the young people would be wearing the same thing.
He then wondered what Sam and the others would say when they saw Star Wars cosplayers instead of fantasy world people. Mark couldn’t wait to laugh at their faces.
There was a huge crowd in front of the ticket booths of the theater and the gaming tents but the poor gamers were at a disadvantage due to the limited number of computers and the limited hours they could play the game.
Mark then went to the gaming tent where the twins and Liriel were staying with Nedertu and Norleen. When he checked on them, they were all busy playing. He then went to the Convenience Store to make sure that the warehouse at the back was full of items that Milena would sell to the customers.
While he was replicating items at the back of the store, Mark wondered about the dungeon in Melona. He decided that once Sam and the others were here if they wanted to, he would dive into the dungeon with them.
He also wondered if they would be able to acquire the professions of this world. He hoped they would be so they would have the power to truly enjoy life in this world.
The crowd was getting bigger so Mark decided to go to his RV to wait for everyone to return. After a few minutes, the twins and Liriel entered the RV together with Norleen.
“Mark, the crowd outside is so big!” Aaron exclaimed.
“There’s so many people that we can’t hardly move!” Isaac added.
“We expected that since our customers would come from two cities, Narcone and Melona,” Mark said to the twins.
“Are we not going to explore the new city?” Isaac asked.
“We will once the circus calmed down in a few days. Right now our customers from the city of Melona are very excited since this is the first time they have seen the movies and the online game. They’re not like our customers from the previous city.”
“I saw two groups of people quarreling about the movie. One group was from Narcone and the other was from Melona but weirdly, after a few minutes, they had become friends. I think it was because the group from Narcone were also players of the game in the gaming tent and when they described the game to the other group, everyone became excited and they became friends,” Aaron said and Mark laughed.
The twins and Liriel then asked to watch Elmo’s World so he played it on their television inside the RV.
Soon, night arrived and Mark prepared dinner for everyone. Milena, Nedertu, and the others arrived.
While they were eating, Milena talked about her sale and informed Mark all the items were sold out around three or four in the afternoon. They were calm about that since they already expected that to happen.
She also reported that the other acts in the circus were earning a lot of coins but the long queue in front of the cinema tents and the gaming tents were becoming worrying.
Mark just shrugged since even if they were long, they couldn’t do anything about it. Besides, the city guards from Melona and Narcone were keeping things in order as they should since according to Hamil, a large part of their earnings would go to both cities.
After dinner, everyone went outside to help the others in the circus to manage the customers and even the children went out to play followed by Norleen who was assigned to take care of the kids that day.
Mark stayed in the RV to plan his next step, which was going back to Earth. He was hoping that everything was calm there and that he would find his friends in good condition.
