Mark was glad that he was still wearing winter clothing because the temperature was low. Even though the dungeon setting was an island in the prehistoric era, it felt like it was winter.

The next group of enemies that he encountered was of huge predator dinosaur that looked like a Tyrannosaurus Rex feeding on the corpse of a huge monster. Aside from those two monsters, there were around five smaller ones beside them that didn’t follow dinosaur behavior. It brought home the fact that these monsters were dungeon monsters and not really dinosaurs.

Making sure that his defensive buffs were still going strong, he cast Glacial Void on the monsters. After freezing and slowing them down, he cast Void Hurricane to envelope the monsters with void energy that would try to rip them apart then followed by Void Meteor. The huge Rock from another dimension greatly damaged the monsters and Void Chain Lighting was the finishing move. He repeatedly cast his skills until all of the monsters were dead.

He stored the loot in his inventory and moved forward. The next group of monsters that he encountered suffered the same fate and by his estimate, he was a third of the way in completing the twenty-fourth floor when his alarm notified him that it was already six in the evening.

Mark stopped what he was doing and traveled immediately to the dungeon portal so he could leave before the twins arrived home.

He was happy to see that nobody was at home yet when he exited the dungeon. He cleaned himself up and then prepared dinner for everyone. While he was waiting for the kids and Nedertu, he destroyed all the items that he got from the dungeon that were below the magic blue rarity. He would identify and keep the rest once he completed the twenty-fourth floor.

Mark was excited to finish the said floor since he wanted to see what type of setting the next floor would be.

The twins and Nedertu arrived after several minutes.

“So, how was the event?” Mark asked the boys.

“Everyone loved it!” Isaac answered.

“Yes, and Hamil announced that the next film would be shown tomorrow instead of the day after tomorrow and everybody cheered,” Aaron added.

“After the movie, we played with the other kids a bit using our lightsaber,” Issac said while waving his toy lightsaber.

“Okay let’s continue talking while eating the dinner that I’ve prepared,”

While they were eating, Nedertu told Mark that since the movie was loved by everyone, Hamil decided to continue movie watching the next day since Hamil was excited to see the next film in the series.

“Did you see Natasha, Lossa, and his friends there?”

“I only saw Lossa and his friends and Lossa did mention to tell you that they wouldn’t be visiting tonight since they were afraid of bothering you all the time. He also mentioned that Natasha asked him to tell you that she wouldn’t be with the guards today.”

After dinner, the twins continued playing while Nedertu left saying he would be back the next day. Mark decided to unwind a bit by playing a game on his laptop which he forbade the kids to watch since the Skyrim that he was playing was heavily modded and some of the mods were on the adult side.

The boys said that it was unfair for him to be the only one playing so he allowed them to play games on the television using the console and the kids played Star Wars The Knights of the Old Republic for a couple of hours. After two hours of playing, Mark asked the kids to stop and clean themselves in the shower to sleep.

The next day, Mark prepared a lot of blueberry pancakes with lots of creams, a pot of coffee, and orange juice for breakfast and woke the twins soon after. While they were eating, Nedertu and Rendira arrived so he invited them to eat. After breakfast, Mark went to the elven sisters to continue his lessons, but he brought them blueberry pancakes in a box as a gift. Mark immediately returned to the RV when his lessons were done since he wanted to continue dungeon diving.

The twins and Nedertu were already waiting for him so he immediately prepared lunch and told everyone that he would be leaving soon after.

“Thanks, Nedertu for looking after the kids.”

“It’s my job so you don’t have to thank me.”

“Are you sure you don’t want me to ask Hamil to find a babysitter for the twins?”

“Maybe before we leave since I will go back to driving the cart.”

“We don’t have to wait by then since it may take time for him to find someone. Since you will be meeting him later, can you tell him that I’m looking for a permanent sitter for the kids, preferably one that’s already one of us? You know what, I changed my mind. I’ll talk to him later myself.”

The twins asked Mark if they could play outside, and he agreed as long as Nedertu agreed. They implored Nedertu and the cat man laughingly agreed.

When everyone left, Mark immediately went to the twenty-fourth floor of the dungeon to continue his dive. After a couple of hours of battling the monsters on the floor, he completed it without any problem. He was able to change all of his dungeon items with the ones with higher stats and defense. Sadly, all of the new items didn’t have any skills, just much higher stats, and defense property which he reckoned he needed more since he did have enough spells already.

Mark checked the time and saw that he had plenty of it so instead of going outside, he decided to go to the twenty-fifth floor to check it out. When he arrived there, it scared him a bit.

It was a cemetery. The whole floor was a sad, gloomy, and dirty cemetery. Based on the setting, the next group of monsters he would encounter were probably the undead and Mark was feeling some misgivings. He wished that he had a permanent summon that could accompany him.

He knew for a fact that once he got used to battling the undead, the misgiving would disappear but as a product of a time and place where horror movies ran rampant, there would be a little misgiving.

Mark thought that he was a little afraid of the horror genre since when his mother was alive, she loved scaring him so much especially when they were watching horror movies. For some odd reason, her mother loved watching horror movies as well aside from chick flicks, and not only that, but he also loved to torture Mark by scaring him until he cried to the puzzlement of her husband, Mark’s father.

His father explained to him once that it was one of his mother’s quirks that made him love her so much, so the father and son just accepted it. Mark remembered that his mother loved Halloween too and the Halloween designs on their house were extravagant to the point that some neighborhood kids were afraid to approach it to ask for candies.
