Chapter 314

Chapter 314

Mark, the twins, Liriel, and Milena were watching the animated film Alladin and he saw that the little girl was fascinated by the movie. After the theme song was sung by Princess Jazmin and Alladin, Milena whispered that she would like a copy of the songs from the movie on her iPod and he just nodded.

While they were watching Mark thought of the fact that since the girl was only three years old and there was probably a host of mental issues that needed to be attended to, it would definitely hinder his dungeon diving activities but remembered that Milena was hiring a couple of assistants and they would be enough help to take care of the children.

As of right now, Mark didn’t encounter any issues with Liriel since she was quiet but she had only been with them for a few hours. Mark’s musings were interrupted by Liriel’s laughter that was brought on by the genie’s antics and everyone was delighted by the girl’s laughter.

Mark knew that there was something magical about the girl and that could be the reason why the mage took her. His imagination which was brought on by reading countless web novels spawned stories of the little girl being a demon king or a reborn sage or a fallen goddess which made him laugh at himself but he still didn’t discount the idea since this was a magical world.

He decided to talk to the elven sisters, Hamil, and Norunta regarding the girl but they were with him earlier when he took in the girl and they did say that if he didn’t take her, the circus would have taken care of her. That meant that they didn’t detect any abnormalities from the girl that could cause any form of disaster or something like that.

“Anyway, whatever comes, we will deal with it,” Mark thought since Liriel was already a part of their family.

The movie ended with everyone praising it.

“I would like to have my own flying carpet!” Isaac shouted.

“I have a floating disc!” Mark boasted.

“I don’t know Mark. Your floating disc doesn’t move like the carpet from the movie, it doesn’t have…I don’t know what to call it,” Aaron added.

“It’s called personality. The disc doesn’t have a personality like magic carpet,” Mark smiled and the twins nodded saying that was it.

Mark then replicated a stuffed toy genie.

“Do you want this, Liriel?” Mark asked the little girl.

Liriel's eyes grew bigger when she saw the genie stuffed toy. She then carefully put the teddy bear beside her and hugged the genie toy.

“Did you enjoy the film?” Mark asked while he pointed at the television so the little girl would know that he was talking about the film.

Liriel nodded in answer to Mark’s question and he was glad that the girl was beginning to communicate with them. Since it was still early, Mark decided to bring Liriel to the village so they could purchase clothing for her since the twin's clothes were too big for her. She was only three years old and so tiny that she was practically a baby.

“I will be bringing Liriel to the village so we can shop for clothes. Do you want to go with us?” Mark asked the twins.

Mark could see that the boys were torn. They wanted to join him shopping in the village but the adventure that they would have with their friends also awaited.

“No, Deo and the others were waiting for us. We’re going to explore the forest beside the village,” Aaron said slowly which made Isaac clap his hands to his brother’s mouth.

Mark then heard Isaac whispering to his brother.

“We’re not supposed to tell anyone or else they would stop us!”

Mark rolled his eyes when he heard the boys whispering to each other about their planned adventures in the forest but Nedertu did tell him that it was safe there and there was always someone who was looking after the kids stealthily.

At first, Mark wanted to know who was that so he could give a gift as thanks but Nedertu said that it was different every time. The cat man told him that before, they allowed the circus children to roam without anyone looking after them but a series of misfortune occurred during Hamil’s grandfather’s time causing the death of a couple of the kids which prompted the circus to be vigilant when it came to the children so from then on, someone was always looking after the children.

Mark then asked Nedertu what the misfortune was and according to the rumors, it was some of a witch or a mad mage. He didn’t know the details since it was long before his time. They did make sure that the children were not aware that they were being looked after to not hinder their adventuresome spirit since Hamil said that it’s the root of what made the circus what it was.

Before they left, Mark told Milena to ask some of her friends to become models for some of the items that they would be selling later and Milena answered that she would take care of it.

Outside the RV, Mark cast his Space Floating Disc and in a fit of whimsy, covered it with a carpet.

“Princess Liriel, your magic carpet awaits,” he told the little girl.

The twins shouted when they saw the disc covered by a carpet.

“Wow, a flying carpet!” Aaron shouted.

Mark smiled and asked if they then wanted to come and Isaac scolded Aaron.

“It’s just Mark's disc covered by a carpet. We can ride it anytime. Deo and the others are already waiting for us.”

Mark sat on the carpet still carrying Liriel and the girl was smiling looking at the soft carpet. He then commanded the disc to float up which made the little girl laugh. Mark smiled thinking that the girl had already ridden the disc earlier that day but putting the carpet on top of it made it more magical since they had just seen Alladin.

While they were moving forward to the village, Liriel kept tapping him and pointing at things which made Mark smile. He was a little proud since Liriel was already responding to him. Mark then saw the dragon then told Liriel to look up.

The little girl got scared when she saw the dragon and hugged Mark’s neck tightly.

“You don’t have to be afraid Liriel, that dragon is my dragon. Look, children are riding it,” Liriel looked up and Mark pointed at the kids on the dragon’s back.

Mark and Liriel could hear the children’s laughter from the dragon since the dragon was not really flying very high.

After that interlude, they arrived in the village and the guards at the gate were gaping at him and the little girl on top of a carpet. Mark stopped near one of the guards and asked him a question.

“Excuse me, do you know where we can find the store that sells clothes for little princesses,” Mark asked while showing off the little girl in his arms.

The guard pointed to the center of the village and Mark just followed his direction and would ask someone again once he was inside the village. A lot of people were looking at them though and this made the little girl scared again which prompted Liriel to hug his neck again.
