Chapter 109

Chapter 109

Mark and the gang which included Sam, Armina, Enleed, Donald, Elizabeth and Robert equipped their dungeon items sets. Melissa was still staying with her parents and told everyone that she would not be joining the team anymore and would pursue other things. She would still manage the company that was created for downloading media content for Mark since it was her primary source of money, but it was obvious that she was not a nerd like them and didn’t really like dungeon diving. Albert, Robert’s son, was excited and crying out that as soon as he matured, he would join the adventure. When everybody was ready, the gang entered the portal and arrived on the sixth floor.

The floor was still a forest that provoked elements of medieval fantasy. Mark remembered one of his favorite animated film when he was younger. It was called “The Last Unicorn” and the forest on this floor brought the setting of the film to mind. The group couldn’t help but feel exhilarated whenever they started a dungeon dive. Sam then told everyone that he couldn’t get over the fact that he was here in this place and time, together with his friends, battling monsters for loot that would make them stronger.

Mark and his friends had been mocked by some of their friends and relatives for being nerds. For loving a game made for children but they didn’t care back then. The love of adventure, of magic and mystery was in their blood and now they were doing it in reality.

Mark, as usual, would not join the fight and prepared the equipment that would record their adventure. Enleed and Sam would still upload the dive on their website and on their social media channels. He also told them to monetize the adventure since the money they would earn would help them in making sure that they had financial freedom for the rest of their lives. Mark would also keep a copy of the recording of their dives to reminisce on the time they’d spent as a group once he was not with them anymore.

The group encountered different enemies. Orcs, Kobolds, Vampire Bats, melee type monsters, magic type monsters and flying type monsters. There were injuries but the healing brought by the scepter that Donald was wielding brought that fact to insignificance. There were lots of loots which managed to upgrade the team’s armor.

Fortunately, the weapons they had together with their accompanying skills were powerful enough that they were able to combat the monsters with impunity. Everyone had a blast.

For experimentation, Donald brought a gun to check if it would be useful and it did damage and kill a monster after several shots but there were no loots. When Mark checked the help section on his System Interface regarding loot, it stated that the loot would only be generated if the creature produced by the dungeon’s mana was destroyed by an object with mana or skills produced by activating mana.

The fact that guns did damage the monsters brought comfort to some of the guild members since if ever dungeons became the norm like some of the web novels, they would have the power to fight the monsters. Mark reminded them that this dungeon was created by a skill of his mother’s artifact and could be different if a dungeon or a monster appeared somewhere else so they shouldn’t write the findings they’d seen in this dungeon in stone. Mark then borrowed the gun from Donald and made a copy on his Inventory and kept the original and gave the copy back to Donald.

If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it.

Mark was quite sure that Donald would not notice that his gun was just a copy, and he did this so he could replicate the gun and its bullets if needed. Mark noticed it was already four in the afternoon and they were only halfway through the dungeon. That meant that a single floor would take the group two or possibly more dives before they conquered it.

The group decided to stop and complete the floor the next dive but Mark told them that monsters would respawn every two days so it would not be possible to start over. The group decided then to continue and complete the floor, which they did at around ten in the evening.

The group came out of the dungeon once they conquered the sixth floor. Robert messaged his family informing them that he was back and safe. Donald and Robert bought some dungeon items, and the rest were kept by Mark to be destroyed so he could get crafting materials. As expected, they didn’t find any items with skills since Mark already mentioned to the group that he only started receiving items with skills starting from the 10th floor and beyond.

Mark gave the recording device to Sam and Sam and Enleed said they would work on editing the video to make sure their adventure was as exciting as they could make it. He told Sam to download all the edited versions of their dive to one of hard drives or laptop that they were using so he would have a copy even if he was not connected to the internet. He also informed Sam to continue purchasing the items on the list that he gave and just put it in the basement which was already emptied by Mark. Everyone went home exhausted but very fulfilled on the adventure they just did.

The next day, Mark completed his villa and started decorating. The first room that he focused on was the room where he would put the heavy duty generators since that room would be the one that would provide power to every devices in the house. Mark thought of what would happen to the polluted gas that was coming out of the generator but when he checked out the opening where the smoke would come out, he noticed mana gathering and he assumed that it was purifying it.

Mark first thought that even if the smoke from the generator was polluted, the floor was big enough to handle it and he actually would not really stay long in the floor so he assumed that the smoke produced would not be abundant enough to be a problem but the fact that the dungeon was purifying the air was a relief to him.

Good thing was, all he needed to do was plugged the generator in since he was careful in making sure that the electrical wiring was as tight as it could be. Every outlet in the house would be powered by the generator. After setting up the generator, he tested by turning on the lights and everything worked perfectly.

Mark would really like to commend the architect firm who set up the video instruction since he just followed it to the letter and everything worked perfectly.

The devices that he wouldn’t be using for now was stored on a separate mini barn like house that he made to store things that he wouldn’t immediately use like air conditioning units and heaters, since the temperature on the 11th floor was perfect or the solar panels.
