Chapter 395

Chapter 395

Mark knew that even though one of his favorite web novels, which was the Black Internet Café MC made an Internet Café with thousands of computers, he wouldn’t be able to do the same. He did have a very massive and energy-efficient generator stored in his villa on the eleventh floor and he could replicate the gasoline or diesel that would run it without any issue but the work that would take to create a network like that would be gargantuan. The only benefit that he could get from running the café was earning mana stones and he could earn more stones by selling the magical items he received from his dungeon.

The only reason Mark wanted to set up a net café was because he missed playing online games and he knew that with the height of Star Wars popularity, the game would attract players without any problem. He was thinking of starting with eight computers but knew for a fact that at most, he could set up to twenty computers, and any more than that would probably cause computer problems and would require massive work.

He knew that setting up the internet café and the online game was a spur-of-the-moment thing for him but he was probably doing it as a tribute to his past experiences as an otaku that was addicted to online games.

Inside the huge tent that would serve as the internet café, the first thing that Mark did while Hamil, the elven sisters, Dozon, and Lorendo were watching was to set up the tables and chairs that would house the computers. After that, he set up the desktop computers that the customers would use and then connected them using very high-grade water-resistant cables. The good thing about his collection, he had something that allowed him to arrange the cables neatly. He then connected the computer to a very massive and toted as the safest power supply station that he placed where it would be connected to the generator at the back.

The whole tent was covered in a very thick luxurious carpet courtesy of Mark borrowing the carpet from Hamil and replicating them. The whole tent was also lit up using magic lights that were made by the elven sisters. At first, Mark thought of using an air-conditioner to control the temperature inside the tent that would serve as the internet café but Eilintraee offered to do that instead by using magic runes. This would lessen the burden on the generator that would power the computers.

Mark placed the computer that the café manager would use near the door so the café basically had nine computers all in all. He didn’t provide any speakers since he attached a wired headset to each one of the devices.

When the computers were set up, everything looked neat and organized and the only thing that was lacking were the decorations.

“These chairs are very comfortable!” Lorendo the magician said when he tested one of the gaming chairs.

“They were made specifically for people who wanted to spend hours behind a computer,” Mark commented.

“Why is the computer not turning on?” Dozon asked when he pressed the power button on one of the computers.

“It’s not connected to a generator yet,” Hamil was the one who answered.

Everyone then walked to the second tent where Mark set up four computers that would serve as the online game servers. He also set up the generator that would power up all the computers just outside the second tent.

“This generator is massive compared to the one we’re currently using,” Hamil said.

“The generator that I lent you only needs to power up a laptop, speakers, and the projector. This one needs to power up thirteen powerful computers,” Mark said then he turned on the generator and connected the cable that would power up all the computers.

The elven sisters were also the ones who provided the magic lights and the runes that would control the temperature inside the tent that would house the servers.

After plugging in the computers to the generator, Mark then turned on the server and started the process of processing the program that would run the server for the Star Wars The Old Republic online game. He found that coding the program was incredibly easy for him and Mark thought that it was probably because of additional stats that were added to his Intelligence and wisdom but he wasn’t really sure. Nevertheless, he was grateful that the process wasn’t difficult for him.

When the server was set up, he went to the net café and started up all of the computers. He checked the connection and checked if the operating system was running without any issues and so far he hadn’t encountered any.

“Hamil, I need a couple of people that I can teach this thing so they can run the café and solve the issues without me here,” Mark said to the circus leader.

While doing the network setup, Mark knew that he was correct in thinking that twenty computers would be his limit since any more than that would take up a lot of time, and even with these computers alone, he would still need to spend a lot of time managing them until he trained someone who could do the work. He also expected that some of the circus leaders would leave since in his opinion, what he was doing was boring to those who didn’t know what he was doing but surprisingly each one of them stayed even after two hours of setting up everything and he wasn’t nearly done yet.

It was already five in the afternoon so he asked Hamil to tell Milena that he wouldn’t be joining them for dinner so he would need her to cook dinner for everyone. Hamil called someone outside to deliver the message to Mark’s cook.

Mark then continued working on setting up the computer programs that he would need to use to run the café like the program that would start the timer on the computer that moment customers use them.

He then installed the Star Wars The Old Republic Game on one of the computers and connected it to the server. Mark used his encrypted credentials to log in to the servers to be able to program the servers using any of the computers in the café.

When Mark checked the time, it was very late but decided to continue working since he wasn’t tired yet and would probably spend the whole evening working to make sure that the game would run without any hitch.

He then told the others that he would need to spend several hours more in the café and the server room so they could go and rest and after persuading Hamil and the others, they left him alone to work.

After doing a massive amount of work, Mark successfully ran the game that was connected to the servers in one of the computers then he started doing the same thing to the seven other computers as well as the computer that would house the manager.

Several hours passed and when Mark checked the time, it was already six in the morning but he was successful in making sure that the game ran on all of the computers. He also successfully connected all of the Star Wars The Old Republic game to the server and the characters on all nine of the computers were able to meet each other in one location meaning the online part of the game was successfully made.
