Mark was happy with the staff since now he had a weapon that he could use, and it was a mythic one. The increase in stats alone was worthy of it being called a mythic weapon. Together with the Void Dragon, these two summonses were powerful enough to contend with a legendary being. He hoped. He wondered if there was a limit on how many the angel could resurrect.
He decided to waste one charge and summoned the angel. Mark used the skill of the Staff of Archangel Vikander to summon the angel and a light from the sky appeared and an angel with three pairs of wings descended. The angel was wearing battle armor that glowed white and he or she looked incredibly beautiful but in a sexless way. The archangel Vikander was androgynous looking but not soft instead, the angel looked formidable and battle-ready.
“I came to your summons Mark,” The angel said when it reached Mark. The angel’s voice had a dual quality as if a man and a woman were speaking at the same time.
“I summoned you not for battle but because I have inquiries. How many resurrections can you perform in a given summon?” Mark asked the angel.
“Every resurrection will expend a summon and since the staff has five charges, I can perform four resurrections.”
“Are there any other limitations to your resurrection aside from the duration of death?”
“I can resurrect up to legendary beings but not anyone above that.”
“Can you give me a reason why?”
“It’s simple. My power is not enough to resurrect those types of beings. It would not matter anyway since beings above legendary are immortal and would only be destroyed if they chose it or they were defeated in battle with other beings more powerful than they are which would result in their existence being scatted in the cosmos.”
“Is there any way for the summon duration to be increased?”
“There is. By upgrading the staff. To upgrade the staff, you will need to speak with a high-level artisan either a weapon enchanter or a magic blacksmith.”
“Where do you come from? Are you a living being summoned by the staff from somewhere?”
“No. Much like your void dragon and plant golems even the monsters in your dungeon, we’re created by system and that is the only thing I know. The rest of the information I shared with you can be seen by you in the help section in the system interface.”
Mark was startled by what the angel said.
“So, you’re not an angel of any god?”
“No. I’m close to what you may call an artificial intelligence. It would be best if you treat me like your plant golems or void dragon and just command me to do what I’m capable of during the duration of my summon.”
Mark was in awe of what the system was capable of. He honestly believed that anyone who received a system would become the protagonist of the world they were living in. He hoped since that meant he was the protagonist of this world. Then reality sets in. He may be powerful but according to the elven sisters there were truly powerful beings in this world so to not offend anybody powerful enough to extinguish his existence, he shouldn’t act like an alpha dog and just enjoy the life that he had right now in the circus but continuing to level up so he would have the power to contend with those beings someday if needed.
Stolen story; please report.
His talk with the archangel lasted for ten minutes so Mark immediately moved forward since he wanted to see how capable the angel was. The angel was walking behind Mark following him. They arrived at the next group of monsters in a crossroad that consisted of three ghouls, three vampires, and three ghosts.
Mark commanded the angel to attack and the summon flew forward wielding its powerful mace. Five zombies crawled out from the ground to join the battle and the vampires tried to bypass the angel, but the angel was surprisingly faster than the vampires.
That archangel smacked the leading vampire on its face using its mace and the resulting sound and reaction of the other two vampires caused Mark to laugh aloud. The angel expertly smacked the other two vampires causing them to be thrown back to the group of ghouls who were running towards them.
Since the three vampires and the ghouls were grouped together and the zombies just reached them the angel cast some sort of group heal that caused the zombies to be destroyed immediately and greatly damage the other undead monsters.
The archangel cast another group spell that caused the undead to freeze since they looked like they were being held by glowing rings and then the angel flew down and smacked each of the monsters dead.
Mark was impressed by the angel’s power and that meant that he should be able to use the staff for a long time. He wondered at what level he would outgrow the staff.
He kept the loot in his inventory and moved forward. Another group of undead monsters composed of ghouls, vampires, zombies, and ghosts appeared in another cemetery and Mark summoned the plant golems to assist the archangel.
The angel and the plant golems made short work of the undead monsters and after the battle, the angel summoning duration expired and it disappeared. When Mark checked the time, it was already three in the afternoon, and he was only halfway through the dungeon, so he decided to stop the dungeon dive for the day and complete the floor the next day. He flew as fast as he could back to the dungeon’s entrance and then he went directly to his villa on the eleventh floor so he could take a shower.
After cleaning himself up and resting for a bit, it was already four in the afternoon, so he decided to go back to the circus, but he brought the twins a box of donuts.
Mark went outside the cart to join everyone in the driver’s seats where they usually spend time together and saw the twins and Milena reading the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. He did notice that the kids and their cook were about to finish the book, so before they noticed him, he replicated three copies of the third book of the Harry Potter series, the Prisoner of Azkaban, and cast Comprehend Language on the books.
“I’m back and I brought gifts!” Mark said to everyone.
The twins hugged him took the box of donuts away and started munching.
“Hey, don’t forget to give some to Milena and Nedertu.”
The twins gave the box to Milena and their cook took a donut for herself and Nedertu and returned it to the kids. Mark then gave the books to Milena.
“What is this?” Milena asked.
“It’s the third book of the Harry Potter series,” Mark replied.
“Oh good! We’re about to complete the second book.”
“I noticed that’s why I gave you that.”
“I’m so glad you’re here Mark. I want to complain! Hamil is not allowing us to join him on top of the dragon!” Isaac whined.
Mark then saw the dragon flying above them with Hamil seated in the front seat looking proud as if declaring to the world that he was a mighty dragon lord. Mark laughed when he saw that.
“Let Hamil play for a bit this time and he would probably relent and let others join him tomorrow.”
