Chapter 123

Chapter 123

Mark woke up in the middle of a forest. The forest looked like the forest in his personal dungeon starting from the 6th floor. Based on the coloring of the trees and the leaves, the season was in the midst of autumn and if he didn’t have any powers, once winter came, his life would have been in danger. Mark thought that waking up in a forest after transmigration was so common that it bordered on cliché. Well actually, it was not bordering it, it was so cliché that most transmigration novels involved the forest in one way or another in the beginning.

Mark was grateful that he didn’t feel groggy or anything like that. It was just like he closed his eyes one moment and when he opened it, he was there at that location. The first thing that he did was to summon his system interface just to make sure that he could still summon it and was glad when it appeared. He scrutinized it to check if there were any changes since that last time, he checked it and there were none.

Mark cast Void Bolt to check if he had access to his skills and he managed to summon the spell and hit a tree with it. When he checked his surroundings, he noticed that the trees were thinning in the distance, and when he levitated, he saw a dirt road. He summoned his Inventory and changed his clothes to generic medieval clothes consisting of a tunic, breeches, a cloak with a hood, and generic leather shoes. The clothing colors that he chose were a mixture of tan, green, and brown. He was really thankful to Armina for providing the clothes when he asked her for something like this.

Mark chose generic medieval clothing since if it were really a medieval fantasy setting, his clothes would fit with the location and if it were a world in a high science fiction setting, at most he would just be considered eccentric.

Based on the sun, it was early morning, so he sat down near a tree to collect himself and plan. When he was sitting down, it suddenly hit him. He would never see his friends again. He would not be able to see his house in Ventura. Worst of all, he would not be able to see new animes, Mangas, web novels, and movies. Mark cried. He cried like the first time when the death of his parents hit him. He felt so alone, and he already missed his friends and his world.

Mark hoped that he transmigrated to a high fantasy world that had realm travelling arch wizards since that was the only way he would learn enough knowledge to go back. He thought that he had the will to forget his world and his friends once he transmigrated but now the first thing that he was planning was to earn enough knowledge to travel between worlds. After a few minutes of pathetic weeping, he promised himself that this was the last time he would grieve for his world since all was not lost in his opinion.

He wanted to be strong, and he knew that he needed to be strong-willed to survive in this world. Mark thought of himself as powerful but he didn’t want to underestimate the new world. After washing his face with a bottle of water from his inventory, he tried to find an opening that he could use to summon the dungeon portal, but he didn’t find one.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Mark really wished that he could summon his dungeon entrance without a need to anchor it to a doorway, but he really wanted to check if he could enter his home on the 11th floor of his personal dungeon, so he constructed a doorway using the trees around him using his Telekinesis. After a sturdy doorway was constructed, he summoned his dungeon entrance, and he was so happy that it appeared.

He went to his home on the 11th floor and the first thing that he checked was the cage with a live chicken that he brought inside and saw that it was gone. It confirmed the fact that he wasn’t able to bring any live creature from his world to this one and he wondered what happened to the chicken.

Mark checked his house to see if everything was working properly and was satisfied that everything was working fine. This assured him that he would survive this world.

After spending a few minutes in his house, Mark went outside the dungeon and destroyed the doorway that he created. He didn’t forget to cast his Comprehend Language spell to make sure that he would understand the first person or being that he would encounter. He walked toward the dirt road and when he arrived, checked to see if there were any travelers but unfortunately, he didn’t see one.

Mark decided to walk to the right just because he wanted to. He could’ve cast Fly and then flown to see if there was any settlement nearby, but he refrained from doing that. He didn’t know what type of beings were in this world and he didn’t want to get noticed.

He was also glad that he transmigrated near a road meaning that there would be very few dangerous animals nearby, not that he was afraid, it was just he wasn’t in the mood for combat or something like that. He still felt melancholy for losing his friends and his world for that matter.

Mark promised himself that he wouldn’t grieve for his world anymore, but he still felt very lonely, so he just kept on walking without noticing anything. He then heard something coming in from behind and when he turned around, he saw a cart with a huge donkey that was being driven by two people. An old man and a teenager. The old man had white hair and a wrinkled face, and the teenager had blonde hair and looked about 17 or 18 years old. Based on how they looked, Mark assumed that the people nearby would look like people from the west consisting of light skin and light hair and since he looked Asian, he wondered if he would encounter any problem.

The cart had some vegetables and Mark assumed that it was from a farm where the old man and the teenager came from.

“Hello. Can I join you? It’s awfully tiring to walk. My name is Mark and I’m a merchant, but I got separated from my caravan and got lost.”

“I don’t know. My Lizzie will be tired of carrying three people on this cart.” The old man hedged, pointing at his donkey.

Mark understood that he needed to offer some monetary payment to the man, and he was glad that he asked Enleed for some standard copper, silver, and gold coins for role-playing purposes that he kept in his Inventory that he could replicate anytime.

“I have a couple of copper coins here for your trouble.” Mark offered. He didn’t know the value of his coins, but he thought that copper coins were safe enough to offer. The old man grinned and even the teenager smiled and scooted over to offer his seat to Mark.
