Everybody knew that the fight between the void dragon and the circus’s warriors was just a demonstration but the battle scenes that they were treated to were truly exciting and the fact that they knew that nobody would really get severely hurt added to their excitement.
Mark could see and he was sure that everyone else could as well that the circus warriors were truly veterans of battle and the way they worked with each other showed how solid their teamwork was.
The void dragon dove down again but this time it cast void lightning together with void storm. Lorendo, Norunta, and Mentorra joined forces and cast some sort of group shield that covered the whole group with a transparent force field while all the warriors, Hamil, Dozon, Barak, and Mosalan switched to using bows and arrows in an effort to bring the dragon down.
The forcefield that the three mages conjured held and the void lightning and void storm were dispersed. Mentorra then cast a group spell buff on the warriors to increase the damage their bows and arrows dealt to the void dragon.
The whole group concentrated on damaging the void dragon's wings and some of the arrows successfully damaged it. The void dragon roared in anger and breathed a void lightning attack towards the group then surprisingly cast a void lightning using one of its limbs.
Hamil was almost hit but the void lightning from the dragon’s hands or feet but everyone saw that the dragon intentionally missed their caravan leaders since instead of hitting Hamil directly, the spell curved to the left.
Mark saw that Norunta sighed with relief since she didn’t have to expend a valuable healing spell and a massive amount of energy to heal their leader.
Because of the near miss, everyone doubled their effort in damaging the dragon’s wing enough to bring it down, and after several confrontations of spells and arrows between the two, the dragon finally landed to avoid falling and injuring itself.
Mark was surprised at how intelligently the void dragon golem fought. He thought at first that it would be easy for the group to destroy the dragon since even though it was a dragon, it was still ultimately a golem without sentience but it was doing well in the fight so far and Hamil and his group members were having a hard time.
This made Mark a little proud since that meant that the dragon would be able to hold its own in a serious fight and it would also boost the whole circus's morale on the fact that the void dragon was powerful enough to defend them against enemies.
Once the void dragon was on the ground, Barak suddenly became energetic as if he were injected with energy-giving serum.
“It’s my time to shine! Die Dragon!” Barak shouted while he ran towards the dragon carrying his huge battle axe.
Dozon, Hamil, and Mosalan followed the dwarf in but were spread enough that the dragon would not be able to hit them using an area-of-effect attack.
Mentorra cast a buff spell on the melee warrior which Mark assumed would either increase their damage or defense then switch to using her bow and arrows buffed with spells. Lorendo the magician focused on casting offensive single-attack spells to avoid damaging his party members and Mark saw that Lorendo was using a combination of Fire Bolt and some sort of ray that was glowing with blue. Mark thought that maybe it was some sort of Freezing Ray.

Norunta was not casting any spells but conserving her energy so she would be able to cast shields and healing spells but everyone could see that the witch's concentration was focused like a ray or laser.
Mark could hear Madam Luzviminda saying to Sunetta to learn how her master was fighting since that would be her in the future and he could see that the witch’s apprentice was proud of how powerful and great of a warrior her master was.
Barak reached the dragon and jumped high enough to swing his axe on the dragon’s neck. The dragon used its hands to swipe the dwarf away but Hamil and Dozon stopped the dragon’s arm. Mosalan concentrated his knife attacks on the dragon’s legs and Mark saw that the halfling's weapon was sharp due to the dragon's limb incurring severe damage on its limbs.
Barak successfully hit the dragon’s neck but only caused a wound but it did bring the dragon down. The void dragon showed its resilience by climbing right up and roaring its defiance against the party that was trying to destroy it.
Mentorra was focused on adding to the dragon’s confusion by bombarding its face with arrows buffed with spells so the dragon’s face was full of either frost or the dragon was blinded with light or venom.
The fight was truly exciting but Mark was beginning to pity the dragon. The dragon was fighting its best but sooner or later everyone knew that it would lose due to the amount of damage it was receiving.
The fact that the dragon was careful in delivering its attack to avoid fatally damaging anyone contributed to its rapid demise.
Mark was about to stop the fight since he couldn’t take the dragon’s pitiful appearance anymore but suddenly Barak shouted and the dragon’s neck was finally separated.
Hamil. Dozon and Mosalan raised their weapons and shouted their victory towards the heavens while Lorendo cast some sort of fireworks spell lighting up the sky. Mentorra and Norunta had huge smiles on their faces.
While everyone was celebrating the circus’s warriors' victory, Mark summoned the void dragon immediately. Suddenly everyone saw a rip in space then the void dragon appeared which brought apprehension to the group.
The dragon flew in circles and then landed beside Mark. It was looking at everyone docilely as if it wasn’t just a fight. Mark was not even sure if it was the same void dragon but he was a bit relieved that he was not detecting any sort of resentment from the dragon even though he was sure that it wouldn’t since it was a golem.
Hamil’s group ran towards Mark and he cast Forest Sanctuary to heal every one of their injuries and restore their mana.
“The moment the dragon appeared again it brought ice to my blood. Imagine winning a gruesome fight with a creature like that and suddenly it appeared again fully intact, fresh, and without any injury. That would be terrifying,” Hamil said while looking at the dragon with appreciation.
Everyone thanked Mark for casting his healing spell that restored everyone to peak and also restored their mana.
Mentorra examined the dragon closely.
“I’m not detecting any sort of resentment. Honestly, if it were not avoiding giving us fatal damage I doubt that we would have won immediately. The fight would have been longer and we would have lost some of our members. There was also a huge chance that we would be defeated!” Mentorra said.
“Me too, I’m not detecting any resentment and I’m not even sure if it’s the same void dragon,” Mark admitted.
“That was a good fight! It made my blood boil. We should do it again!” Barak shouted.
“That was enough. It showed us the dragon’s capability and it was powerful enough to be a mighty defender of our circus but I think its true value will be the amount of coins it would generate as a circus attraction!” Hamil said with eyes shining like a coin.
Everyone laughed at the circus caravan leader’s comment and they all went back to where the caravan was camping while Barak was disappointed that the fight was over.
