While they were walking to the clearing that Hamil’s scouts found where they would fight with the void dragon, in a flight of whimsy, Mark summoned his Forest Guardian and two huge ancient trees sprouted from the ground and started walking in the direction that he commanded.
Mark directed the two hulking ancient tree golems to lift him and the twins and they started riding the Forest Guardian surrounded by the twin's squeals. The twin’s friends looked in envy at them who were being carried by the ancient tree and he ordered the golems to stop.
“Anyone who can climb the tree golems can ride with us!” He shouted to the children who were watching and they gleefully climbed the walking tree sentinels.
The ancient trees suddenly looked very festive decorated by flocks of children. Unfortunately, some were not able to climb since the ancient trees were full so Mark summoned the two tree golems and he included the bush golems to join in on the fun.
A few of the kids climbed the tree golems and some of the little ones were carried by the bush golems.
Their procession became lively with the squeals of the children riding the plant golems and everyone looked on indulgently.
The elven sisters had this horrified, fascinated look on their faces since normally forest guardians were respected creatures by the elves but now they were being treated as children’s toys. Knowing that they were just golem summons pacified them a bit.
“Mark, I remembered that you also have dryads, sprites, fairies, and unicorn summons. Can you summon them to show us?” Eilintraee asked.
“Oh, those are not summons. They’re part of my area of effect healing spells,” Mark answered.
Eilintraee nodded in understanding while Norunta who overheard was intrigued.
“Can you show me that healing spell?” the witch asked.
“Sure, once we reach the clearing, I'll show you,” Mark responded to the witch’s request.
The circus people reached the clearing in the forest and it was as wide as a football field. The clearing was also very beautiful, full of grass and flowers and there was a spring brook in one corner.
The people then surrounded the plant golems inspecting the summons while the mages consisted of the elven sisters, Norunta the witch, and her apprentice Sunetta, Lorendo the magician, and even Madam Luzviminda surrounded Mark wanting to see his healing spells. Mark didn’t know that Madam Luzviminda was a mage.
“Since everyone is watching, I’ll show you my healing spells. The first healing spell that I’ve learned is called Good Berry.”
Mark cast the spell and a bush sprouted from the ground and grew berries. He explained that the berries would heal people and satiate hunger and thirst.
After that, he cast his healing spells one after another starting with Bed of Daisies, then Dryad’s Circle, and lastly, the Forest Sanctuary.

He explained to them that the healing spells also cure diseases, and detoxify poison. They would also regenerate a wizard’s mana.
Everyone gasped when they saw the visual representation of the spells from the daisy flowers to the dryads and then the different sprites and fairies and unicorns of the Forest Sanctuary spell.
“Your healing spells are truly beautiful. Can they also regenerate missing limbs?” Norunta the witch asked.
“You know what, I don’t know. I haven’t tested it that way before since I haven’t healed anyone who has a missing limb,” Mark answered.
“You’re healing spells are some of the most powerful that I have ever seen aside from their beauty. Thank you for sharing them with us,” Lorendo the magician said.
“Most wizard will not do what you’re doing right now, freely show their spells to others, even their friends,” Solinae said while smiling.
Mark smiled and told everyone a simple fact.
“These are not my best healing spells.”
That statement made the elven sisters laugh while Sunetta gasped.
“You are very powerful Lord Mark!” the witch’s apprentice said.
Hamil clapped loudly trying to get everyone’s attention.
“The battle with the dragon will soon start. It would be between our circus's most powerful warriors and our newly acquired member, the dragon!” Hamil shouted which brought shouting and cheering from everyone.
Hamil the circus caravan leader, Barak the dwarf, Dozon the acrobat, Mosalan the rogue halfling, Mentorra the elven archer wizard, Lorendo the magician, and Norunta the circus witch went to the middle of the clearing. Mark commanded the void dragon to fly.
“I’ll give you a minute then the dragon will attack!” Mark shouted at Hamil’s group. He saw Hamil signaling that they heard him.
The audience waited with bated breath together with Mark on the side. The dragon flew in circles above them while Hamil and his group readied themselves and their equipment for battle. After a minute, Mark commanded the dragon to attack. He was explicit in his commands for the dragon to not fatally damage anyone and just try to hurt them. The dragon roared which was echoed by the children who were watching. He was amused at the fact that he couldn’t tell if the kids were siding with Hamil’s group or with the dragon but based on their expression, they were most likely team dragon.
The void dragon dove down and breathe void lightning toward Hamil’s group. Lorendo met the void lighting with a Fire Ball and Norunta cast a mage shield on top of the group. The void lightning breath of the dragon disperse the Fire Ball but it did weaken the lightning and the shield cast by Norunta stopped the dragon’s attack.
Mark was impressed by how the two mages stopped the dragon’s attack. Mentorra then used a spell to cast a buff on herself and her bow glowed with green light. She then shot arrow after arrow toward the dragon which it evaded by flying high. Even though the dragon evaded most of the arrows, it was still hit by some in its wings. It almost fell but with a loud cry brought itself up.
The dragon then dove down again breathing void lightning towards Hamil’s group while Norunta and Lorendo did the same action but this time Lorendo cast another Fire Ball followed by Norunta’s magic missile which hit the dragon.
The dragon was hit by Lorendo’s second Fire Ball and Norunta’s magic missile and Mentorra kept firing her magic arrows toward the dragon which almost brought the dragon down.
The melee fighters were waiting patiently for the dragon to be brought down by the long-range fighter and Mark was truly impressed by everyone’s concentration.
The void dragon flew up again but this time, it hovered in place for a bit. Mark was astounded to see that the void dragon suddenly cast a spell using its hands. A Void Storm appeared amongst Hamil’s group causing the group to rapidly disperse to avoid the highly damaging spell.
Mark almost laughed when he saw the old witch and Lorendo the magician running swiftly but he was again impressed since he didn’t expect the old woman to be so energetic.
This time, Hamil and Dozon took bows from somewhere and Mentorra cast a buff on herself and the other fighters who were planning to use bows and arrows to bring the dragon down.
The other circus members kept on shouting and cheering that they would almost certainly become hoarse once the fight ended. Mark saw that the twins were too excited shouting and cheering with each other and even the adults like Madam Luzviminda, Nedertu, and Milena abandoned their dignity and shouted with the others.
