Chapter 268

Chapter 268

Mark was looking at the twins playing with their friends who were the children of the circus folk on top of the Void Dragon. Every member of the circus was touching the dragon as if they could not believe that a powerful mythical creature was allowing them to do so.

Solinae, Eilintraee, Mentorra, and Hamil joined Mark in looking at the magnificent dragon that shimmered golden in the setting sun.

“Your dragon is truly breathtaking Mark. The circus will be known throughout the world. We will be the only one who has a dragon member!” Hamil said.

“That is true. Established bandit groups will also never attack us if it spreads that we are being guarded by a dragon. What can your dragon golem do?” Eilintraee asked.

“It can fly and since it’s huge and its back is wide, it can be used as transportation. It can breathe a lightning bolt made of void energy and it could use its claws and mouth as an attack I assumed. I haven’t had the chance to test it in battle yet.”

“It does have six limbs. Normally we classify those with less than six limbs as not a dragon but a lesser being like a wyvern but normally the fifth and sixth limbs are wings but your dragon golem’s limbs are all hands or feet. I assumed it flew using magic?” Mentorra asked.

“Yes it’s using void magic to fly,” Mark answered.

The twins then went down the dragon and ran toward Mark.

“Mark you said that we can ride it and ask it to fly?” Isaac asked.

“Sure, and you can let your friends join but we will not fly high, just a few feet above the circus.”

The twins cheered and shouted at their friends that they would fly the dragon and that they could all join them. All the kids cheered as well and Mark could see that they were truly excited. He could also see that some of the adults were wanting to join.

Since there were more than fifteen children on top of the dragon, he asked for some adults to join them to take care of the kids. Two of the actors and three of Madam Luzviminda’s girls were fast enough to volunteer. The acrobat brothers and the halflings looked like they were disappointed in missing out and the dwarves had a stubborn look on their faces that they would fight to the death to remain on the ground.

“Hamil, can you please join them so you can check if you will encounter any issues? I already commanded the dragon to follow your verbal commands but I did ask it to not fly high, just a few feet above the circus,” Mark asked the caravan leader.

Hamil joined the group of people and the children on top of the dragon then Hamil loudly commanded the dragon to fly. The dragon flew up slowly but it remained close to the circus. Everyone could hear the children shouting and cheering and even the adults that joined them were laughing loudly.

The caravan leader then asked everyone to sit down since he would command the dragon to go faster. When everyone was seated, he shouted to the dragon to go faster and the dragon flew in circles above the circus and the speed was getting faster.

Hamil shouted for it to go faster again and the dragon went faster and faster until the caravan leader shouted that the speed was enough and it maintained its speed.

Mark was surprised to see Hamil treating the dragon as a roller coaster and he thought that maybe it would be what Hamil was planning to use the dragon for. Mark was then glad that the dragon was not sentient because if it was, he was sure that it would not suffer for its dignity to be trampled like that.

Every member of the circus could see that all the people on top of the dragon were enjoying their makeshift ride. Hamil then gestured for Mark to come so he cast the Flight spell and flew up to join them.

“Do you have something in mind?” Mark asked.

“Can you remove the height restriction?”

“I can but it would be dangerous since the kids are on board and it's getting dark.”

“You’re right. I just got excited. Let’s go down and let’s talk about how we can use the dragon in the circus.”

Hamil commanded the dragon to go down and it slowly flew down and it landed gently beside the circus. The kids were still shouting and cheering and they were so loud that Mark felt that he was in a rock concert. Even the adults who joined them were excited.

When everyone was off the dragon, Mark commanded the dragon to fly around the circus slowly so all of them could admire its beauty and it flew up circling the dragon. It would be the greatest decoration a circus could ever have.

The members of the circus began to prepare for the night and a lot of them went back to their carts to start cooking dinner. Mark saw that Milena went to their cart to prepare their food for the night and Nedertu joined her, while the twins were still with the other kids playing.

Hamil called the circus leaders like the elven sisters, Zenethor the zoo leader, Linuel the leader of the actors, Norunta the witch, Dozon one of the acrobat brothers, Mosalan the halfling, Rendira’s husband, Barak the dwarf, and even Madam Luzviminda joined them. The others were busy and said that they would know what the meeting was all about at a later time.

“We’re going to talk about the dragon and how it will affect the circus as a whole,” Hamil announced.

“It’s a summon right? How long will it last?” Norunta asked.

“It’s a permanent summon. It will last until it’s destroyed or I unsummon it.” Mark answered the witch.

“It will be useful in defending the circus!” Dozon said.

“What can it do aside from flying?” Barak asked.

“It’s a summon creature for battle. It can breathe lightning made from void energy and it could use its mouth and limbs to attack. The good thing about the dragon is if someone is powerful enough to destroy it, I can just summon it again,” Mark boasted.

Almost all the people in the meeting gasped and the sisters smiled mysteriously.

“Our circus is now invincible!” Hamil shouted then he laughed and everyone smiled.

“How will you use the dragon for the circus for entertainment? Using it as a visual attraction is a waste,” Zenethor said.

“That is one of the reasons for this meeting. We need to think of how we can use it to earn large amounts of gold coins!” Hamil said.

“We can use it as a transportation?” Barak suggested.

“No, that will be a waste of time and not convenient for us. If we’re based in a city or even a village sure but since we’re traveling, it’s not a feasible idea,” Mosalan disputed.

Mark knew that the meeting would take time so he summoned chairs from his inventory and asked everyone to sit down. The elven sisters and Norunta then summoned some mage lights to light up their meeting location.
