Chapter 167

Chapter 167

After defeating the earth dragon and storing its corpse, Mark and his group continued traveling back to the city. When evening arrived, Mark summoned his RV again so the group could rest properly. It was particularly cold that night, so Mark cranked up the heat inside the RV. Everyone was famished, so Mark prepared a lot of food.

“Lord Mark, what food is this?” Ardeen asked looking at the pizza on the table.

“It’s called Neapolitan Pizza and one of the best food from my homeland. The other one is called spaghetti and the third one that you see is a lasagna. I also prepared cans of beer, but Natasha told me that everyone could only drink up to two cans. There’s water and soda for those who want it.”

Mark showed everyone how to open the can of beer and he prepared food for the twin boys and glasses of milk. He showed the boys how to eat the spaghetti and prepared portions on their plates. Natasha looked at Mark taking care of the boys and smiled.

“Lord Mark, these foods that you have can rival the best in the city. I especially like this one called lasagna.” Ardeen said.

“I like this pizza and based on what I can see, it would probably be easy to make,” Lossa added.

“I beg to disagree. It may look simple, but the recipe of the sauces could be very complicated, and based on Lord Mark’s smirk, I’m correct.”

“You’re right Ardeen. It took hundreds of years for my people to perfect the sauces and cheeses and every region in my homeland can boast their special sauces.”

After dinner, Mark, together with the twins, washed themselves in the bathroom and then went to sleep. He did tell the boys another fairy tale before they slept while Natasha joined them.

When the boys were asleep, Natasha whispered to Mark that she enjoyed the fairy tales as well and Mark whispered back that he also had movies about them as well and once they were back, he would show them to her.

“You’ve seen one of them already, the one called Snow White. It was a fairy tale that was made into an animation movie.”

“That was a beautiful show. I can’t wait to see the others.”

The next day, the group continued with their journey home and was expected to reach the city in the afternoon. When noon arrived, Mark prepared their last meal together as a group, and the mages, Ardeen and Lossa kept mentioning that they would miss his food.

“You can always visit me and the twins. We will be staying in the circus caravan while we are in the city.”

“You’re staying in the circus, Mark?” Isaac asked while Aaron was looking at him questioningly too.

“We’re staying in the circus. Didn’t I tell you? You both will be staying with me.”

“I thought we would be staying in the orphanage?” Aaron asked.

“No. I decided that you would stay with me. From now on we will be a family, is that all right with you boys?”

The twins ran towards him and hugged him so tightly that Mark became a bit teary-eyed. He could see Natasha was teary-eyed as well and the mages were smiling.

“Are you sure about that Mark? Taking care of children is going to be a big responsibility.” Natasha asked after a while and the kids were still clinging to Mark.

“I have decided and honestly, it’s not going to be a problem. I’m very wealthy.” Mark said proudly.

Mark then talked to the kids.

“We’re going to be a family, but you need to do something for me. You will need to learn my language.”

“Yes, we will learn your language,” Isaac said while Aaron nodded.

“Great! We will have a lot of fun from now on and when you’re old enough, I’ll find someone to teach you magic.”

The kids hugged Mark again and he patted their backs.

“Lord Mark you can’t teach your magic to others?” Lossa asked.

“My magic is different from this land and it’s impossible to be taught. When I explained it to one of my teachers, they said that it could be closely related to a bloodline instead of regular magic.”

“I see. That meant that only you or your progenitors could learn your magic. Can you learn our magic system?” Ardeen asked.

“Solinae, one of my elven teachers said that she detected mana from me and once I learned enough of your language, they will teach me the basics of magic.”

“An elven wizard is willing to teach you magic?” Natasha asked, surprised.

Mark saw their surprise and asked for the reason. Apparently, elven wizards are very private people and rarely teach magic to someone outside of the species.

Mark just shrugged and told them that he paid for the lesson using one of his artifacts.

It was late in the afternoon when the group arrived in the city of Argent. Natasha, the mages, and the guards went to report the success of their mission and the guard captain informed him that she would meet him the next day to help him sell the earth dragon’s corpse.

Mark led the twins to the caravan encampment. When he arrived there, they went to Hamil’s to introduce the boys to the caravan leader.

“Hamil, I’m back. This is Isaac and Aaron. From now on, they will stay with me so please treat them as my brothers.”

The boys politely greeted the caravan leader while clinging to Mark.

“You kids are in great luck. Mark is very wealthy, and he has a lot of toys!” Hamil laughed.

The twins smiled.

Deo, Hamil’s youngest, who was about eight years old was with Hamil when Mark and the twins arrived. Deo went to the twins to talk to them.

“Hi, my name is Deo and I’m Hamil’s kid. You’re lucky! What my father said is true. Marks got a lot of special toys. Not only that his food is one of the best that I’ve ever eaten in my life.” Deo drooled thinking about Mark’s food.

“We know. During the journey here, we’ve eaten the best food, and we stayed in a magical cart filled with magic items.” Isaac said.

“Yes. The water in the toilet was always warm and the lights were soft and magical. The bed was soft and comfortable. Mark is the greatest wizard in the world!” Aaron proudly boasted.

Deo looked at the twins enviously and Hamil laughed.

“Hamil, the cart that I’m staying in is a bit small for the three of us, so since everyone knows that I’m a wizard anyway, I’m not going to hold back anymore and will just summon my traveling home in place of the cart. Will that be a problem?”

“How big is your magical cart?”

“About twice as big as my previous cart and I’m thinking of using it for travel. I need to talk to Nedertu to check if he is going to be amenable to being my employee permanently or if I need to look for someone else. I would need to teach my employees how to use the “magical cart” since it operates differently.”

“You will need to speak to Zenethor and Nedertu himself, but I think that Nedertu will agree to be your employee. He kept bragging to everyone about how his food that came from you was the greatest in the world and how he would always be one of the ones who would be the first to watch your shows.”

Mark laughed and told Hamil that he would talk to Zenethor and Nedertu the next day.
