The second floor of the castle has three wings if something like this existed in the real world, the rich folks or nobles who would be living in such a castle would have probably called the wings something like the “West Wing” or the “North Wing” or something like that.
Mark started on the left side and based on a quick view; the left side had several rooms. He cast his defensive spells like Bark Skin and Space Shield to make sure that all of them were refreshed then proceeded to go to the first room.
As expected the room was huge and it had one of those beds with curtains called a canopy bed. The room was very elegant and Mark made a note of the design and would copy some of the elements once he had his own place.
He then noticed someone standing in the window which startled Mark but was glad that he wasn’t afraid. More than likely, his power was giving him the confidence to not be afraid of the monsters in the dungeon anymore. Maybe soon he would be able to watch a horror movie without covering his eyes, Mark thought to himself then laughed.
Mark cast a mage light to brighten up the room and saw that the man standing by the window was a bit transparent and that meant that it was a ghost monster. He identified the monsters using his spell and it stated that it was a poltergeist. Two more ghosts suddenly appeared and a quick identification told him that they were also poltergeists.
The moment he used Identity on the first ghost, the ghost's expression turned vicious. Suddenly the things in the room floated and were hurled towards Mark. Mark cast his Space Wall spell and successfully blocked the things that were being thrown at him by the ghost. He then thought of an experiment. He tried to hold one of the ghosts using his Telekinesis spell and honestly, he was expecting not to be able to hold the ghost, like somehow the spell would just pass through but he was unexpectedly able to hold and lift one of the ghosts. He brought the ghost forward and the intensity and power of the things that were being thrown at him increased.
Mark killed the other two poltergeists with a combination of Void Chain Lighting and Void Storm and kept the third ghost alive that he was holding using his Telekinesis. Once the two ghosts were dead, he turned to the remaining ghost and tried to talk to it but the poltergeist just kept on snarling. Curiously, even though Mark thought that the poltergeist’s power was some sort of telekinesis, the ghost wasn’t able to do anything while being held by his telekinesis and wondered if his spell had some sort of way to block monsters in using their spell. He would need to experiment more on that.
He then killed the poltergeist when it was clear that it wouldn’t respond to him and that he couldn’t think of any more experiments that he could do with it. Mark kept the loot that dropped which was a single blue item.
He then proceeded to the next room. The second room also looked like a master bedroom and only the coloring and design of the room were different. A man was lying on the bed and two maids wearing actual maid uniforms sitting beside the man on the bed. A quick Identify informed Mark that the monsters were vampires and when he identified them, they became vicious and suddenly flew at him to attack. They had snarling faces and their speed was incredible.

Mark cast Void Push to push the three vampires away and then he cast Glacial Void. The spell didn’t freeze the three vampires but it did severely slow them down so he finished them off with Void Chain Lightning and Void Storm. Since the three vampires were elites, he wasn’t surprised to see that the single loot that dropped was a purple bubble meaning it was a legendary item.
He quickly identified the item and it stated that it was the Legendary Lover’s Ring. It was a pair of rings that would allow the two people who were wearing them to use the spell Lover’s Message which was just talking telepathically to each other regardless of distance and dimension. Once cast would allow the two people to communicate for two minutes and the rings had ten charges and would earn one charge per hour.
This was a welcome item since it would allow someone to communicate with him during an emergency.
Mark planned to give the ring to Milena since she was the one looking after the twins and Liriel. He was still not going to give back the artifact that the elven sisters lent him since it was still a good idea to have contingencies. He would return it once they reached a city that would be able to sell him the same kind of item.
The rest of the room in the left wing of the second floor of the castle had combinations of ghosts, vampires, zombies, and ghouls and he was able to kill them all without any issues.
Mark proceeded to the right side and surprisingly it only consisted of two huge rooms. He went to the first room and it was a dining room. He saw that people were sitting in the chairs surrounding the dining table and a quick identify said that they were a combination of vampires and ghosts. His identification also stated that the one sitting at the head of the dining table was an elite vampire.
The moment he cast his Identify spell, the monsters looked at him viciously so Mark hastily cast Glacial Void, Void Storm, and Void Hurricane and that killed all the monsters immediately. He was truly overpowered for the floor and it made him happy.
The second room was the kitchen and saw that a huge ghoul who was wearing a chef’s hat and chef’s uniform was the miniboss of the room. It had several zombies and ghouls assistants so Mark proceeded to kill them all by casting Glacial Void, Void Hurricane, and Void Storm.
Mark loved the feeling of decimating his enemies using his spells since he felt powerful. He felt like he was the sorcerer character in one of his favorite games, Diablo III and it was cathartic to destroy enemies using his spells. The impact of his spell being received by the monsters gave him a satisfactory feeling and it relaxed him. He kept the loot that dropped from the monsters but unfortunately, there were no orange or purple items.
The last room was the center room just beyond the main hall of the second floor and when Mark entered it he saw that it was some sort of an audience room with a throne at the far end. Someone was sitting on the throne and Mark saw that it was a lich wearing an elegant noble attire and a coronet.
Identifying the monsters on the chair informed Mark that it was an Elder Lich and the moment he cast the Identify spell, the Lich summoned several undead and commanded them to attack Mark.
Mark proceeded to decimate everything in sight by casting Glacial Void, Void Meteor, Void Storm, and Void Hurricane. He then concentrated on the lich by casting Void Lightning on it and that killed all the monsters on the floor. The dungeon portal was just behind the throne.
He saw that there was another purple bubble that dropped but since the twenty-ninth floor was done, he kept the item on his inventory first and proceeded to go to his villa on the eleventh floor to take a shower first then identify the item once he was there. After that, he could go home to his family.
