Chapter 975: 303. Inside-outside collaboration_2
“You’re asking about this…” Erica twirled her chin, bending her arm to prop on the edge of the table:
“In the past six months, no new kingdom-level extraordinary phenomena have emerged, and the Mass Wizard Tombs have not received any warnings of extraterrestrial space pollution triggering a Pollution Zone.”
Six months… Noland Lee recalled.
He had just left Alchemist Island and arrived at the Suman Archipelago half a year ago.
This meant that since he had “settled” here in the Suman Archipelago, there had been no large-scale extraterrestrial space pollution invasion events.
Was this a coincidence, or the work of some unknown force?
...
Noland pondered and asked:
“Professor, has there ever been such a long period of calm that lasted half a year before?”
“This kind of phenomenon is quite common. Historically, there have been records of two consecutive years without extraterrestrial space pollution invasions. Are you very interested in these extraterrestrial invasions?”
Erica asked with a blink of her eyes.
Noland admitted generously:
“Yes, Professor. Becoming a Lecturer Professor is just a matter of time for me, so I want to prepare for researching extraterrestrial space pollution as soon as possible.”
Erica smiled knowingly:
“Heh, you’re quite confident. That’s a good thing. Let me find you the observation records of the Mass Wizard Tombs.”
Observation records?
Erica had such treasures on hand?
A gleam appeared in Noland’s eyes.
Under his gaze, Erica pulled open her desk drawer and rummaged through the storage space within.
Three thick, hardcover books over ten centimeters thick appeared on the tabletop, stacked into a small hill.
Noland cast the Deconstruction technique.
After a faint moment of distraction, a large section of System Text refreshed in his mind, all related to the Mass Wizard Tombs’ recorded extraterrestrial space pollution incidents.
“Here you go, take these to your Small Classroom and read them at your leisure,” Erica said, patting the cover:
“These were originally materials for the Stage of Six Hoops, but since you’re interested and planning to take the path of becoming an assistant lecturer, I’ll give them to you now. Just be careful when reading them; these three books are valuable originals, not copies.”
Noland took a deep breath, coming back to his senses:
“Thank you, Professor.”
Hauling four books from Erica, Noland could describe this trip as a bountiful harvest.
After chatting with her about what to be aware of on his adventure to the Eternal Lightning Ravine, he picked up the four books in front of him and returned to his Small Classroom.
Three observation records of extraterrestrial space pollution invasions from the Mass Wizard Tombs.
One law enforcement log of the Silent Enforcer in the Eternal Lightning Ravine.
All the contents of these four books had been recorded in Noland’s mind.
An ocean of characters and dynamic magic diagrams churned in his mind, like a huge, gold-shimmering treasury.
The observation records from the Mass Wizard Tombs could be considered as primary historical sources.
From the time and place of the extraterrestrial space pollution invasion incidents to the wizard forces undertaking the Research Tasks, from the local residents’ reactions at the invasion sites to the outcomes of the incidents.
All the items Noland could think of were listed in the three observation records.
What’s more valuable was:
The Mass Wizard Tombs had even recorded those incidents occurring outside the territory of the Ulnas Circle.
Noland even saw mentions of “Union City” and “Aberration” in them.
Yet, even with these detailed three observation records, there was still no clue about the five Pollution Zones such as “Bustling Tunnel,” “Gray Wasteland,” or “Steel Forest of Mortal World.”
“That leaves only one truth then.”
Noland, with his arms crossed, sat at the edge of the table and quietly pondered:
“The Assassin Angel had said it himself; the five Pollution Zones will appear in the future and aren’t formed yet. The extraterrestrial space Pollution related to them might have already descended to Ground Level, like the Undead Cult and the Blood Sun Seal, or they might not have passed through the Star Filtering Net yet.”
Noland stroked his chin:
“So, if these five Pollution Zones aren’t yet formed, won’t I come back from the Eternal Lightning Ravine empty-handed? There wouldn’t be the ‘Bustling Tunnel’ I had envisioned…”
Noland thought for a few seconds and then shook his head:
“Never mind, let’s go check it out first. With over a billion Points of Energy as my foundation and the Fixed-point Stone Explosion Technique in hand, I should be able to overpower the Lightning Phantom and other wizards. I just need to be careful when using the ‘Fixed-point Stone Explosion Technique,’ and it’s better not to be seen using it, as it too is a form of Wild Magic…”
Noland organized the books on the table and murmured, “Leave the ‘Court of Silence.'”
His consciousness was enveloped by indigo mist and quickly descended.
Upon opening his eyes, the figures of Nolin, Denise Green, and Nicolette appeared in front of him.
While Noland was communicating with the Professor, the other three were preparing their luggage on Underground Layer 2 of Island 33.
“Everything’s ready, mates. The Professor agreed that I could take a trip to the Eternal Lightning Ravine,” Noland said, slapping his thigh and standing up from his chair:
“Besides, Denise and I won’t have to lurk around in secrecy for our trip to the Eternal Lightning Ravine. We will go as hired wizards to aid Mabel.”
“Wow, that’s great,” Denise cheered, clapping her hands:
“This means we won’t have to skulk around~”
Nicolette put down the Mechanos she was using as a toy, looked up at Noland, and asked:
“When will you be back? What if bad people come here after you leave? Aren’t you worried?”
You have the will of the Assassin Angel within you, so what’s there for me to worry about.
Noland laughed and said:
“Don’t worry, Nicolette. I’ll have Nolin seal the entire Island and reinforce patrols. While Denise and I are away, we will refuse all visitors.” noveldrama
