Chapter 1127: 348.Life is short_2
Nolin controlled the Mechanos, flying into the sky to provide Noland Lee with a broad, bird’s-eye view.
In his Magic Vision, Lamont had activated the Illusion Ring after leaving the City, entering an Invisibility State in a deserted corner.
Noland Lee, following this, lost sight of the other person.
However, it did not matter.
If the Pure Light Court intended to send reinforcements to Lamont, they would certainly need him to open a Teleportation Gate outside of Town.
The topographic map of the Land of Resurgence spread out in Noland Lee’s mind, where he had already marked several uninhabited areas suitable for opening a gate.
...
The Mechanos controlled by Nolin had already gone ahead of Lamont, lying in wait in those areas.
Any sign of a Teleportation Gate opening in any of the locations would be detected by Nolin instantly.
“Report, Sir. Over the airspace of the 16th area you marked, a Teleportation Gate to the Pure Light Court appeared.”
Nolin sent the message timely.
“Good, continue surveillance, do not alert the Pure Light Court’s people,” Noland Lee instructed.
“Yes, Sir.”
After about two minutes, Nolin sent another message:
“Sir, I’ve observed the Pure Light Court’s team from a safe distance. It’s a small squad of 10 people. Lamont is leading them towards the City.”
“Hmm… Who is the leader of the team? Is it the same person we saw last time in Union City?” Noland Lee asked.
Nolin replied:
“No, Sir. The leader seems to be the Light Wizard who had previously visited the Suman Archipelago. I remember his name is Jay Spade.”
Noland Lee raised his eyebrows.
Before he could speak, Nolin continued:
“Oh, Sir, the Earth Vein Wizard from the Earth Vein Pillar has come to meet these Light Wizards.”
“That’s to be expected. This place is managed by the Earth Vein Pillar in the legal sense of the Ulnas Boundary,” Noland Lee said after a thought.
“There’s no need to bother with them. Withdraw the nearby Mechanos, so as not to be detected by those Earth Vein Wizards skilled in Earth Rock Magic,” he decided.
“Understood, Sir,” Nolin responded.
Noland Lee twisted the ring on his hand, establishing contact with the Assassin Angel.
He repeated the information he had obtained to the other party, particularly highlighting the identity of Jay Spade.
This Eighth Ring Clean Light Mage was definitely one of the high-level Wizards within the Pure Light Court.
Not only was his personal strength and methods quite remarkable, but he was also tasked with researching the Wild Magic—Thundercloud Technique.
Most crucially!
He had transferred a small portion of his Soul to the Master Control Chip he carried with him!
If he could help the Assassin Angel discover the existence of the Chip, then Noland Lee would naturally be able to make clear the collaborative relationship between the Pure Light Court and the Metal Ancestral Dragon. noveldrama
“When that Jay Spade moves alone, we’ll capture him,” said the Assassin Angel, “But you must be careful when you act. Jay Spade may have some form of trigger-type Magical Items against Mental Magic on him.”
“No problem.”
Noland Lee nodded slightly.
At that very moment, Nolin sent a message saying that the Pure Light Court’s team was approaching the City, apparently planning to enter Lamont’s residence.
With Jay Spade around, the current Anti-detection Magic Barrier protecting Noland Lee was not very secure.
For the sake of caution, Noland Lee ordered Nolin to remove all Magical Items from inside the house, and then, before Jay Spade entered his line of sight, to leave this place.
The more challenging part was now upon them.
How to detect every move of the Pure Light Court’s team in a timely manner, how to lure Jay Spade out alone.
Noland Lee and the Assassin Angel came up with a good plan.
That was to once again pretend to be Sea Monsters, severely exploiting them.
Lamont had reported to Elder Skimming Light that the Sea Monsters were about to sign a very important contract with the Undead Cult.
This would surely attract the special attention of the Pure Light Court.
Any figure that appeared in the City and resembled Sea Monsters would grab the attention of the Pure Light Wizards.
Noland Lee planned to send out several decoys to divert the Light Wizards at Jay Spade’s side, creating a one-on-one opportunity with him.
That was his plan.
Sometimes, however, accidents happen first.
Just as Noland Lee was enchanting the Mechanos with Illusion Magic, disguising them as Sea Monsters, the Assassin Angel suddenly declared:
“A trace of the Metal Ancestral Dragon’s presence has appeared in the City.”
The movement of Noland Lee’s hands paused, his expression somewhat astonished.
Denise Green beside him helping out froze for a moment, casting a puzzled look at Noland Lee.
Noland Lee shook his hand to signal to continue, while mentally asking:
“Has the Metal Ancestral Dragon come? Where is it? Should we leave this place?”
Facing Noland Lee’s barrage of questions, the Assassin Angel fell silent for a moment before responding:
“No, we don’t need to leave. The trace of the presence in the City is very faint. The Metal Ancestral Dragon hasn’t come here personally. It’s likely something carrying its trace that has come.”
Noland Lee’s brow furrowed.
Could this trace of the Metal Ancestral Dragon be coming from the Synthetic Human Main Control Chip carried by Jay Spade?
“Send out your Mechanos on a sweep around the City. I will cover them with the ‘Veil of The World’,” the Assassin Angel suggested.
Noland Lee nodded, pulling out a fully charged Flight Mechanic from his pocket and placing it outside the window.
The “Veil of The World” had no outward characteristics, but when it flowed from the ring, covering the Mechanos, they completely vanished into thin air.
Even if Noland Lee reached out to touch them, or cast a detection spell up close, their presence could not be detected.
