Chapter 1202

Chapter 1202: 378. Contract Loophole_2

“Now is the time, activate the array.”

Three ritual magic circles were activated at the same time, emitting a commanding gray glow.

In just a split second, Noland Lee felt as if he were swiftly ascending into the sky, with his destination aimed at the star obscured by the sunlight.

As the gray surface of the star magnified before his eyes, the sunlight and blue sky receded rapidly, and Noland’s consciousness arrived in a weightless, strange space.

There was no light source, but Noland could clearly see the mottled stone surfaces making up the ceiling and walls.

A corridor, ten meters wide and ten meters high, stretched straight towards the distant horizon, converging into a tiny point.

...

Due to weightlessness, Noland floated in mid-air, and after a turn, it became hard to distinguish which stone surface was the floor and which was the ceiling.

Squinting his eyes to scan the nearby walls, Noland’s gaze lingered on the protruding stone carving lines.

These lines seemed random and without pattern, but in reality, they concealed the mysterious language used for the “Escape” Core of the Plane.

Based on the Maze Map Deconstruction Results in his mind, Noland easily recognized the mysterious language that symbolized the “Entrance to Maze No. 3” with a brief examination of the lines on the wall.

“Hmm, not bad. The route from the entrance of Maze No. 3 to the exit is relatively easy, not like Mazed 7 and 8, which have hundreds of intersections.”

The brief surge of joy in his heart lasted for less than half a second before Noland calmly wiped it away.

He advanced according to the route map while calling up the Panel Information in his mind.

Due to the special restrictions of the Maze Space, his powerful body that could withstand a Sixth-Ring Spell and his formidable Magic Ability had temporarily entered a state of unusability.

It could be said that everyone who entered the maze was now on the same level, with no distinction between Transcendent Wizards and ordinary ones.

But this was only temporary. noveldrama

If Transcendent Wizards enhanced the power of the ritual array sufficiently to break through the Maze Space’s suppression effects on Magic and other Extraordinary Abilities, they would then be able to use their powers in a limited way.

Noland intended to do just that.

Although he currently couldn’t sense the situation in reality, he was certain that Nolin was already enhancing his ritual array.

Noland’s conjecture was soon confirmed.

After following the route map for an unknown amount of time, a system message appeared in his mind.

[Attention!]

[Due to external factors, a small part of your spells have become usable, but their power has been reduced.]

Noland nodded slightly and kept flying forward without stopping.

After moving some distance more, additional system messages arrived.

Noland’s “Death Flight,” “Death Two Finger,” “Thundercloud Technique,” and so on, became usable one after another, and their power limits also slowly increased as time went on.

“Nolin’s actions are quite swift.”

Noland paused briefly at an intersection, looking to the side and down the corridor into the distance.

That was the direction of Entrances 5 and 6.

If Severas Nabi had indeed fulfilled his contract obligations, then he and his Wizards would obediently stay put upon entering the maze, neither exploring nor attempting to lift the Maze Space’s restrictions on casting spells.

Thus, there would be no energy fluctuations at Entrances 5 and 6.

But now, Noland faintly sensed energy fluctuations emanating from a far distance, which were not caused by the Blood Magic Power or Death Energy fluctuations of Night Spirit Magic.

Noland’s eyebrows furrowed, realizing that Wizards outside of the plan had taken the place of Nabi and his group and had entered the maze.

Noland’s fingers rubbed together lightly, casting “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation).”

Thanks to its nature as Wild Magic, Noland could simply invest more Soul Energy to enhance its Disguise effect, thus bypassing the limitations of the Maze Space.

Noland decisively increased the magical power of “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation)” to 10 million points, doing his utmost to erase all traces of himself.

The energy fluctuations from Entrances 5 and 6 became slightly stronger.

As Noland continued on his way, he discerned the types of these energy fluctuations.

Wind Energy and Thunder and Lightning Energy, it seems like two Transcendent Wizards of the Wind and Thunder and Lightning types are traveling.

“Could it be the Magic Avatars of Clint ‘Windhawk’ and Benjamin ‘Gathered Thunder’?”

A sense of foreboding flashed through Noland Lee’s heart.

He came to a halt and concentrated on the source of the energy.

The origin of the energy was erratic, sometimes far and sometimes near, fluctuating its distance with Noland Lee constantly.

This indicated that the source of the energy did not know the path and was trying to explore the Maze through the process of elimination.

After giving it some thought, Noland Lee stealthily activated “Mind View”.

Each Tracking Mark used as a Magic lens had been wrapped in the “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation)”, with no chance of being discovered by outsiders.

After several jumps through his Magical Vision, Noland Lee saw an unexpected scene.

“What is this thing???”

Noland Lee looked bewildered at the squirming entity on the screen.

It was difficult to find accurate words to describe the appearance of this thing; it somewhat resembled intestines knotted together.

How could a flesh and blood entity emit wave fluctuations of Wind Energy and Thunder and Lightning Energy?

Noland Lee was puzzled.

Just then, several similar entities floated over from other directions.

These floating, squirming “intestines” converged together, triggering some kind of fusion reaction.

Within a minute, the “intestines” transformed into a man with three heads.

The middle head had white hair and crimson eyes – it was the spitting image of Severas Nabi.

The head on the left wore a white cyclone mask, and the feedback from the Deconstruction Technique showed that it belonged to Clint ‘Windhawk’s Magic Avatar.

The head on the right was concealed by a bright blue thunder and lightning helm, undoubtedly, it was the head of Benjamin ‘Gathered Thunder’s Magic Avatar.

Three Transcendent Wizards were sharing one body to enter the Maze, and this body was made up of several “intestines”, clearly related to Blood Magic.

Noland Lee’s eyes narrowed as he suddenly realized.

[Angry expletives]!

He had been tricked by that bastard Nabi!

Indeed, Nabi had activated the members of the Night Spirit Cult to occupy a few slots to enter the Maze as per the soul contract requirement.

However, it was clear that there was a significant problem with these members of the Night Spirit Cult who entered the Maze; they simultaneously bore the wills of Nabi, Clint ‘Windhawk’, and Benjamin ‘Gathered Thunder’, which allowed them to merge into one in the Maze, becoming a man with three heads.

Upon seeing this scene, Noland Lee immediately understood what Nabi had done.

That guy used Blood Magic to merge the bloodlines of Clint ‘Windhawk’ and Benjamin ‘Gathered Thunder’, nominally making the two of them members of the Night Spirit Cult to fulfill the confidentiality requirement of the soul contract.

In this way, Nabi was able to perform his obligations correctly under the soul contract with Noland Lee while also bringing in Benjamin ‘Gathered Thunder’ and Clint ‘Windhawk’, benefitting from the soul contracts he signed with them.

It was a plan that killed two birds with one stone; only Severas Nabi could come up with such a crafty scheme.

Noland Lee, in contemplation, opened the Panel of the soul contract.

The soul contract was still not enacting any punishment on Nabi, which meant that Nabi had merely smuggled in ‘Windhawk’ and ‘Gathered Thunder’ subtly, without disclosing Noland Lee’s identity in the Natural World to them.

When Nabi would leak Noland Lee’s true identity, that’s when the soul contract would enact a punishment.

However, considering Nabi’s cunning and calculated nature, he probably wouldn’t do that, as he had already benefitted immensely from his dealings with ‘Gathered Thunder’ and ‘Windhawk’.

“Gentlemen, my plan has succeeded! Hehehe~~~”

The head of Nabi sneered triumphantly, turning to the two heads on either side with a smug laugh:

“My ‘Blood Integration Technique’ indeed managed to deceive the soul contract I have with that mysterious existence! Now let us explore this space! In the soul contract with that mysterious existence, it is written that we cannot act hostilely against each other! You two can be assured and boldly use my body to explore this place; even if we come face to face with that existence, there is no need to worry!”
