Chapter 1044: 325. Attack on Noland_2
Noland Lee patiently listened to the explanation offered by Omar Goddard, feigning exhaustion as he attempted to comprehend it for a moment before trying to use the passive skill he had just acquired.
He pulled up the skill list and activated the 100-level “Power Burst.”
A surge of physical strength roved through his entire body, his bones crackling at the joints, muscles tensing, and skin rippling dramatically beneath his magic robe, creating rolling waves.
The brief transformation inevitably caused a disturbance in his mana.
The magic energy sustaining the Water Flow and Thunderstrike techniques showed signs of stagnation.
The Water stream momentarily dried up, allowing Magma the opportunity to advance, closing in on Noland.
...
The Ice wall blocking the road spewed forth a burst of frost, surrounding Noland from the other side.
It was at this moment that Noland chuckled softly, clenched his fists, and swung them ferociously.
His left fist, solid as a rock, crashed into the frost, raising a fist wind that lashed at the Ice wall.
“Bang! Crack!”
Despite the distance of several meters, the sharp front of his fist still shattered through the frost’s barrier, striking the wall directly and carving out a hollow, causing icicles to fly.
Noland’s right fist directed at the Magma surging towards his face hammered down, casting a brilliant spray of fiery fireworks.
“Pfft~Rumble rumble~~”
The tremendous force on his right fist pushed the Magma backwards.
The Magma rolled back and fissured, pierced by a series of hollows from his punches.
Noland then dispelled most of his “Magic Shield” and stepped into the scalding Magma.
His Magic Boots were burned through by the Magma, and the soles of Noland’s feet came into direct contact with it. noveldrama
His socks, trouser legs, and the hem of his Magic Robe all caught fire.
The flames climbed up the fabric at an incredibly fast rate, reducing his clothes to ashes.
Noland remained unconcerned.
He concentrated his “Magic Shield,” dedicating all his effort to protecting the Magic Pouch at his waist.
He strode quickly through the Magma as if walking on flat ground, feeling no heat whatsoever.
The Explosion Flame Magic that once posed a great threat to him could no longer shake his body, not even lighting his hair on fire.
A smile spread across Noland’s face.
The Magma around him seemed to witness something unbelievable, hesitating and subtly expressing fear.
Noland looked around and saw the landscape of reticent Ice walls and Magma that had halted its advance.
He stomped forcefully beneath him, shooting out like a cannonball into the depths of the Magma.
He swung his arms back and forth in front of him, parting the waist-deep Magma to clear a path, as effortlessly as wading through a river.
What a joke, how could this bit of Magma possibly hurt him?
His inherent “Tenacity” attribute had reached 180 points.
With the 100-level “Power Burst” activated, “Strength” received a +150 point boost, and “Tenacity” was enhanced by another 75 points, totaling 255 points.
255 points of “Tenacity” meant Noland was immune to any spells targeting his physical body up to level 85.
Any spells attempting to attack his physical body, if already cataloged by the Ascension Fortress, were assuredly neutralized.
Was the Flame Bull Wizard’s Explosion Flame Magic powerful?
It was strong, extremely strong.
But alas, most of his Explosion Flame Magic had long become captives of the Ascension Fortress.
His own wizard level was only at 83, and the level of his spells could not exceed this figure by much.
As long as the spell level did not surpass 85, it was impossible to breach Noland’s physical defenses—such was the rule of the Ascension Fortress.
So, in summation, armed with 255 points of “Tenacity” after activating “Power Burst,” Noland could walk boldly in the presence of any wizard bound by the rules of Ascension Fortress.
Uh…
However, this wasn’t an absolute certainty.
As a Saint-level wizard, the Flame Bull Wizard still had a way to turn the tables against Noland’s formidable physique.
Outside the Pollution Zone, if the Flame Bull Wizard could summon a Sub-Dimensional Plane to replace the Natural World and elevate his spell level, then he might be able to forcefully break through Noland’s physical defense.
But within the Pollution Zone, no one could invoke a Sub-Dimensional Plane.
The only Road available to the Flame Bull Wizard was to call upon the Transcendent Wizard backing him, praying for authorization of higher-level spells.
In fact, among the ranks of Grey Wizards forming the line of defense, there were three Transcendent Flame Bull Wizards.
They were one of the main components of the final defense line.
Noland had rushed towards the depths of the Magma in search of Angus McCloud’s whereabouts precisely because he had discovered their existence from memory fragments of Angus.
“Moo! You’re courting death!!”
The enraged roar echoed through the Stone Passage, stirring up waves in the Magma.
Accompanied by severe shaking, large clusters of “Magma Explosive Cores” emerged from beneath the Magma.
These basketball-sized explosive cores, trailed by blazing tails of fire, dropped strings of molten Lava, flickering with an eerie red Radiance.
The cores were controlled by the Flame Bull Wizard, flying out from every channel and swarming towards Noland.
“Boom boom boom boom————”
Hundreds of “Magma Explosive Cores” detonated around Noland, the noise deafening.
Even with his eyes closed, all Noland could see was a blanket of red.
This assault seemed like it would never end.
One second, clusters of explosive cores thundered.
The next second, over a thousand more swarmed in.
These explosive cores, not exceeding Level 85 in magic, could do no harm to Noland.
But!
The shockwaves from the explosions indeed brought a genuine halt to Noland’s stride.
