The few energies that could actually restrict the Death Steel Soldiers involved Kinetic Energy, such as Rock and Soil Energy and Wind Energy.
Gradually, the wizards entering the underground realized that the advantage was not theirs.
They came with ferocity, intent on overturning the enemy, but now they were being suppressed by the nearly completely magic-immune Death Steel Soldiers with their guns and cannons.
Worse still, there was a sturdy transparent barrier around the perimeter of the underground space containing the subway tracks.
This barrier was even stronger than the hemispherical barrier protecting the city area; despite repeated magical bombardments, it stood firm.
It prevented wizards on the ground level from digging through the ground and lifting the entire underground space to the surface, as well as dispelled the thoughts of wizards underground from breaking through the earth to return to the ground.
Thus, the wizards on the ground could only enter the underground through the subway entrance to provide reinforcement to the increasingly retreating frontlines, while those underground had no choice but to retreat the way they came, escaping the predicament.
But entering this underground space was easy; leaving it was difficult.
The Metal System Wizards above had pushed close to the subway entrance and magically blocked all escape routes from the subway entrance.
Meanwhile, Death Steel Soldiers lingering on the surface also gathered near the subway entrance, forming an extremely tough defensive line.

This old dragon planned to use Death Steel and the Metal System Wizards to trap and kill this large group of wizards underground!
But were the Death Steel Soldiers and Metal System Wizards on site enough?

They were bulky air-dropped troop transport ships, purely made of metal and shaped like chicken eggs, apparently over a hundred meters in diameter.
After landing, these troop transport ships opened like blooming flowers, discharging wave upon wave of Death Steel Soldiers who joined the battle.
Once all the Death Steel Soldiers had disembarked, these landing-capable vehicles did not take off; instead, they began to transform with clanking noises, from blooming metallic giant flowers into four-legged Metallic Giant Apes.
Cannon muzzles, three meters thick, extended from the backs of the Metallic Giant Apes, aiming at the fiercely contested subway entrance.
After a brief charge-up, the giant cannons fired with a deafening blast, unleashing three-meter-diameter laser beams toward the subway entrance.
Several wizards near the subway entrance, lacking in strength, had their Magic Shields penetrated by the laser beams and melted on the spot.
Their gruesome deaths tightened the hearts of the remaining wizards.
But as the wizards prepared to counterattack and break out, they horrifiedly realized that the endless streams of laser beams filling the subway entrance showed no signs of stopping.
The wizards had to use all their strength and defensive measures to barely keep the laser beams contained near the subway entrance. noveldrama
