Chapter 1105:
Caden assumed she was referring to the ongoing chip project. “It’s not that exhausting.”
To make a point, Caden added, “I’m full of energy, so you don’t have to worry about our sex life.”
Alicia just assumed he was acting tough. It was a sensitive subject, so she didn’t press further and acted as if his earlier struggle with erection hadn’t happened.
When Alicia got home, she found Regina still up. “Were there any issues with Scarlette tonight?” Alicia asked.
“No, I just thought you both might be hungry after working late, so I prepared some food,” Regina replied.
Regina was especially skilled at making desserts.
Enticed by the aroma, Alicia said, “I’ll shower first and then eat.”
Regina was about to suggest eating first, but noticing the flush on Alicia’s cheeks, she simply nodded. “Go ahead.”
After Alicia and Caden retired to the bedroom, Regina reflected on their routine. Since she moved in, they consistently returned home late. Was it really due to overtime, or were they avoiding her to maintain privacy in their sex life? This thought made her feel uneasy.
When Alicia emerged from her shower, Regina was ready to serve dessert.
Alicia, spotting the sugar, impulsively added more to her portion.
“Be careful. That might be too sweet,” Regina warned.
“It’s okay. I love it sweet,” Alicia responded, though the extra sugar was really for Caden.
Caden, appearing somewhat resigned, began eating.
Watching him, Alicia asked, “How does it taste?”
“It’s not bad. Quite sweet,” Caden replied casually.
Realizing she might have added too much, Alicia feigned surprise and said, “Oh, did I give you my portion? I tend to add a lot of sugar.”noveldrama
Caden continued eating, his expression strained as he chewed.
To prevent any misunderstanding, Alicia added, “I didn’t mean anything by it. Sugar helps with energy and circulation. It’s good for you, especially with the late nights you’ve been pulling.”
“True,” Caden replied.
At his lack of complaints, Alicia affectionately patted his head and whispered, “No matter what, I’ll always love you.”
Caden fell silent, absorbing the implications. She’d love him even if he had erection issues at his age. Finishing the dessert, he left with a knot of frustration in his chest, difficult to swallow or articulate.
That night, both Caden and Alicia lay awake, each lost in their thoughts, unable to sleep.
