Chapter 955: 297. “Teammate” pranking_2
After breakfast, he audited a class where Denise Green was teaching Nicolette.
In front of Noland Lee, Nicolette acted somewhat shy.
Whenever Noland Lee looked at her, she would turn her face towards her textbook or Denise Green, forcing herself not to make eye contact with Noland…
If Noland Lee looked at her for too long, she would raise the book to block the line of sight between herself and Noland.
When Noland Lee looked away, she would lower the book by an inch or two and stealthily observe Noland from behind it.
As soon as Noland Lee turned his head towards her, she would hurriedly raise the book again, once more cutting off his view.
...
“Hey, you two stop messing around, I’m teaching here,” Denise Green said, poking Noland Lee in the ribs.
“Heh heh heh,” Noland Lee chuckled a few times before asking Nicolette,
“Are you getting used to living here?”
“Mhm mhm,” Nicolette responded with a nod, using the book to cover the lower half of her face.
“I hear from Denise and Nolin that you have better talent in Alchemy, right?” Noland Lee asked again.
“Mhm mhm mhm,” Nicolette nodded repeatedly.
Noland Lee then asked,
“So, do you prefer Alchemy, or Magic?”
Nicolette glanced at Noland Lee and Denise Green, then lowered the book that was covering the lower half of her face and looked down at the tabletop, murmuring,
“Umm… I like Magic more.”
“Do you prefer Magic because Denise and I are wizards?” Noland Lee asked.
Nicolette’s two hands twisted together nervously beneath the table.
She nodded in response.
After exchanging a look with Denise, Noland Lee said,
“Well then, Nicolette, once you complete the preschool Magic Course, I’ll have Selena give you the Magic Enlightenment. The success rate of Magic Enlightenment at 16 years old is rather low, generally no more than 20%. If you succeed, of course, that’s cause for celebration. But if you fail, I hope you won’t be discouraged, because the profoundness of Alchemy is no less than that of Magic.”
Nicolette nodded in what seemed like a dejected manner.
Thinking she was upset, Denise was about to comfort her when she saw Nicolette lift her head, her face filled with curiosity as she asked Noland,
“Jarvis, what exactly is your relationship with Denise?”
Ah, this… Noland Lee was taken aback, not expecting Nicolette to be so gossipy at such a young age.
Denise, too, was a bit confused.
Nicolette blinked, propped her chin on her hands, and asked again,
“Will you marry Denise in the future? If you two get married, will you have wizard babies?”
Noland Lee raised his hand to his forehead, feeling emotional.
No no, the study pressure on this girl Nicolette isn’t high enough, she needs her coursework doubled.
Let’s have her memorize the Encyclopedia of Magic Patterns and Magic Materials first.
Denise tapped Nicolette on the head,
“Why are you so worried about these things? You should focus on your studies instead. If you don’t pass the Magic Enlightenment, you’ll be the one crying…”
Nicolette pouted, reluctantly lifting the book,
“Oh oh oh, got it… I was just asking casually, why scold me…”
Noland Lee chuckled silently, shaking his head.
Denise gave Noland Lee’s leg a light tap and said,
“Be serious, I’m teaching Nicolette here.”
“Oh oh oh…” Noland Lee pursed his lips, sitting upright in his chair.
Seeing him cooperate, Denise nodded in satisfaction,
“Nicolette, turn to page 115, we’ll continue with the material on bipedal earthrunners…”
At the same time as Noland Lee was auditing the lesson, the wizard duel between the Deep Sea Branch and the Pangula Family officially began.
The duel between the two sides was not open to the public and wizard forces uninvolved in the contest were not allowed to observe.
Around the dueling arena, there were no members of other wizard forces besides the wizards from both sides.
The strength of the duelists was limited to that of a Nine Circles Battle Mage.
According to the rules discussed before the duel, each side would field 3 Nine Circles Battle Mages and 7 Eighth Circle Combat Wizards.
There were no restrictions on the order of wizard appearances, allowing for situations where Eighth Circle Combat Wizards battled against those of the Ninth Ring.
Eighth Circle against Ninth Ring, surely it was the Eighth Circle side that would be at a disadvantage.
Ninth Circle against Eighth Ring, the Ninth Ring’s side was most likely to crush the opponent. noveldrama
Ninth against Ninth or Eighth against Eighth, the Deep Sea Branch was at a disadvantage, as the Water Clan and Deep Sea System were naturally countered by the Metal System and rock and soil series of the Pangula Family.
Luckily, the competition was based on an elimination system, with the losing duelists being eliminated, but the winners could continue to compete until they were knocked out.
If the Ninth Circle Combat Wizards of the Deep Sea Branch could guess the order of their opponents’ appearances and defeat more Eighth Circle wizards, then there was still hope for the Deep Sea Branch to win.
In effect, figuring out the order in which the opponents would appear was the key to victory.
What the Deep Sea Branch didn’t realize was:
If Mingwaq Pomida didn’t mess around and didn’t try to antagonize Noland Lee, the victory for the Deep Sea Branch was certain.
Because knowing the order of the opponents’ appearances was something that Noland Lee could uncover at a glance with his Deconstruction Technique.
Just with this advantage alone, the Deep Sea Branch could be on an invincible footing.
However, unfortunately, Mingwaq Pomida chose to go against Noland, thereby missing out on his assistance.
Providing the Deep Sea Branch with a Magic Scroll of “Thundercloud Technique” was the utmost leniency Noland Lee offered.
Lonco took the lead in battle for the Deep Sea Branch.
He was lucky; his first opponent was an Eighth Circle Rock and Soil Battle Wizard.
Using a thick water tornado, he dragged his adversary underwater and then easily crushed the opponent with the aid of the seawater environment.
The Deep Sea Branch won the first battle.
