Chapter 1108:
Alicia kicked at him playfully. “Get lost. I don’t want to shower with you. Use the guest bathroom.”
But Caden wouldn’t leave her side. He playfully lifted her onto his lap, giving her a mock scrub before finally settling her into the bathtub.
Alicia muttered a curse under her breath. If he wasn’t going to be intimate with her, he shouldn’t turn her on with caressing. How could someone be so infuriating? She wondered if their daughter would inherit his mischievousness, making her future pursuers heartbroken. Alicia relaxed in the warm water, closing her eyes to calm herself. She reminded herself that sex was wonderful but shouldn’t be something to get addicted to.
After his shower, Caden joined her in the bathtub, tinkering with the scented candles on the shelf. “What scent do you want tonight?”
Alicia opened her eyes slowly. “Jasmine.”
Her attention sharpened suddenly. In Caden’s hand was a condom.
Following her focused gaze, Caden looked down, feigning surprise, and said, “Oh, I thought I grabbed the lighter. How did I end up with a condom?”

Alicia’s expression hardened. “I’m warning you, enough with the teasing.” How could he mistake a lighter for a condom?
Caden replied casually, “What’s wrong with my mistake? Everyone makes mistakes.”
Alicia snorted. “You know exactly what you’re doing.”noveldrama
Caden asked, “Why are you so sensitive?”
Flushed with irritation, Alicia splashed water at Caden’s face. “You’re sleeping on the couch tonight!” Caden was left speechless.
As spring arrived, the weather grew warmer.
As Alicia was preparing to take the baby out for a walk, her phone rang. It was Corey.
“I managed to coax Gemma out,” the once-arrogant Corey said, his voice laden with defeat. “Can you come and keep her company? She can’t stand me right now and doesn’t want to be around me. I need to ask you for this favor.”
Alicia had no particular affection for Corey, but she felt sympathy for Gemma. Since she was going out anyway, she agreed to help.
Caden, ready to leave, joined Alicia to push the stroller. “Going to see Monica again? I’ll pick you up for lunch after work.”
Alicia declined. “I’m having lunch with Gemma today. You go ahead and eat by yourself.”
“Gemma’s willing to go out?” Caden raised an eyebrow.
After Pierre’s death, Gemma had become reclusive, spending her days painting and playing the piano, immersed in her grief. “What made her decide to go out now?” Caden asked.
“Corey tricked her into it,” Alicia replied.
