Chapter 1292: 418. Break a wrist_2
Noland Lee arrived at the next Underground Prison Cell door, opened the door, and looked at the Loose Player inside.
Two minutes later, accompanied by a heart-wrenching scream, the Prison Cell door closed again, and Noland Lee moved towards the third cell.
The information obtained from this Passive Deconstruction was the same as the previous one—it also revealed the Player’s real-life information.
Of note, the contact list of both Players featured a mysterious character named “Old Ghost.”
This “Old Ghost” might be the mastermind behind the Loose Players causing trouble.
With this conjecture, Noland Lee opened the third cell and used the same methods to obtain the Passive Deconstruction Results of the third Player.
...
“Ah~~”
“Clang.”
The screams were confined within the Prison Cell as the door shut, and Noland Lee stood outside, his expression slightly grave.
Indeed, “Old Ghost” appeared in the contact list of the third Loose Player as well.
In the subsequent half hour, Noland Lee greeted all the troublesome Loose Players one by one, serving each a “fracture special.”
After analyzing the obtained Passive Deconstruction Results collectively, Noland Lee was certain:
Although this group of Loose Players had not joined any guilds in the game, they had their own circle outside of it.
The leader of this circle was none other than the person named “Old Ghost.”
However, even with the mastermind locked down, how would Noland Lee actually locate Old Ghost?
This was quite a problem.
Noland Lee had accessed the game’s System, that was true, but he lacked the channels to browse the game forums or to contact Players in “Reality.”
To lock onto Old Ghost in “Reality,” he might need to utilize the connections of “Golden Dragon in the Sky.”
But for an NPC like him to relay things happening in “Reality” to a Player like Golden Dragon in the Sky seemed a bit too eerie.
As Noland Lee pondered over a suitable method, he headed toward the Great Gate of the dungeon.
He planned to leave this body, letting his willpower return to his main entity, and continue managing the affairs at Angel Enterprises Alliance.
As Noland Lee approached the Great Gate, he happened to run into Golden Dragon in the Sky head-on.
The latter was accompanied by a dozen Players, heading towards the Underground Prison Cell with a friendly smile on his face.
Golden Dragon in the Sky sharply noticed that the Elf Guard controlled by Noland was wearing even more exquisite silver-white armor, signifying an unusual status, and stepped forward to speak:
“Your Excellency, I am the Wizard Apprentice, Golden Dragon in the Sky. I’d like to ask for your help with something.”
“What?” Noland looked at Golden Dragon in the Sky, who clearly didn’t expect that the willpower in this Elf Guard’s body was Noland Lee.
Golden Dragon in the Sky said with a smile:
“Could you let us visit the Players in the cell?”
“Visit?” Noland eyed Golden Dragon in the Sky and the others with a scrutinizing gaze.
The group had diverse expressions.
Some were curiously inspecting the Prison Cells, craning their necks to peer inside.
Others wore barely concealed anger, seemingly eager to enter the cells and settle scores with the Loose Players.
Noland Lee now understood.
The so-called visit was a facade; their real objective was to interrogate the Loose Players and uncover the mastermind.
This saved Noland Lee quite a bit of trouble; he had been worrying about how to find “Old Ghost.”
After deliberating for a few seconds, Noland’s eyes widened, and he said sternly:
“You may not visit the students who have erred. That is a rule of the Academy.”
Golden Dragon in the Sky’s smile froze.
Noland Lee changed his tone and continued:
“However, it so happens that I have a Task here that could use your help.” noveldrama
Excitement glittered in the eyes of Golden Dragon in the Sky and his companions.
In their minds appeared the Task window.
[Task Name: Guarding the Cell]
[Task Details: The Underground Prison Cell is short-staffed; you have been temporarily promoted by the Elf Guard Captain to be a Prison Guard.]
[Task Reward: You shall receive Academic Points and Experience Rewards based on the duration you watch over the cell.]
[Failure Penalty: None.]
After reading the Task information, Golden Dragon in the Sky clapped his hands together and said:
“Everyone accept the Task, let’s go in together.”
“Okay, boss.”
Once the Task distribution was completed, Noland Lee waved his hand, and a Luminous screen appeared.
Players touched by the Luminous screen donned simple white robes, the uniform for the temporary Prison Guard.
Noland Lee nodded to the Elf Guards on either side, who then pulled the Great Gate open, allowing the group of Players inside.
Once the Players entered and saw the Elf Guards did not follow, they became visibly excited.
Now they could properly “entertain” the Players in the cell!
Even though they didn’t have the keys to the cells and couldn’t open the doors, there were ventilation windows!
This small window could serve as a channel for communication.
Golden Dragon in the Sky nodded towards his subordinates, indicating:
“Don’t get too excited too early and forget about the essentials. You few go to those cells over there, you three to the other side. Everyone spread out. Whether by threats or enticements, we must pry out who is targeting us from their mouths.”
The Players dispersed, each heading to the assigned cell they were responsible for.
They soon discovered something odd.
Why did all the Loose Players locked up look so wretched, with a broken arm?
“Boss, the Loose Player I’m in charge of said if I give him a Healing Potion, he’ll reveal a clue to a hidden Task. What do you think, should I do it? What if he’s lying to me?”
“I have the same issue here, boss. That guy looks terribly pitiful, his right arm twisted like a pretzel.”
