Chapter 890: 278. This Wild Magic
“Whooosh~~~~”
In the center of Subsea No.13, grand water pillars burst forth, shooting straight up towards the Heavens.
Hundreds of water pillars, each over ten meters wide, stood tall between heaven and earth.
Under the unseen control of magical power, they converged like woven hemp ropes, forming a majestic water edifice. noveldrama
This massive structure, bearing a striking resemblance to a conch, was entirely made of sea water and shimmered with a captivating dark green radiance.
It vibrated briefly on the sea surface, whipping up enormous waves that pushed the surrounding ships dozens of meters outwards.
...
Under the watchful eyes of everyone present, the “conch”-like structure rose upwards, and the rest hidden under water surfaced.
Only then did the crowd realize that it wasn’t some building at all, but rather the horn of a Sea Monster Sculpture.
The Sea Monster Sculpture, like a Titan reaching from the seabed to the sky, stood up from beneath the water.
First, its horns and forehead, followed by the icy triangular eyes, then the mouth full of tusks, the neck covered in scales, the chest.
The boats floating on the sea surface were like tiny, helpless autumn leaves in a fierce wind, tossed by the waves kicked up by the sculpture.
“Buzz…”
From the emerged half-body statue, a dull sound engulfed the entire area.
Magic flowed over the sea surface, smoothing out the waves and ripples.
In an instant, Subsea No.13 was calm, with not a wave in sight, as tranquil as an ancient well.
The scene fell silent.
The fleet that came to sign the contract made no noise; all eyes were tightly fixed on the gargantuan half-body figure made of sea water.
The next second, voices erupted in conversation.
“Is this statue the rumored Sea Monster Queen…”
“I’ve heard that the Sirens Kingdom is a matriarchal Deep Sea realm…”
“Hey, look at this statue, the Deep Sea Magic Power it contains might even surpass the Magic Stones we brought… No wonder the Deep Sea Branch has never been able to eradicate the Sea Monsters.”
“Yorksim was right, the Deep Sea is the home turf of the Sea Monsters. Instead of seeking help from the Deep Sea Branch, it’s better to make a contract with the Sea Monsters…”
There was unending discussion within the fleet.
In front of the Sea Monster Queen’s half-body statue, several whirlpools appeared on the flat sea surface.
Dozens of Sea Monsters clad in full sets of armor surfaced from the whirlpools, hovering over the sea surface.
The Wizards in the fleet turned their gaze in unison to the Sailing Ship where Yorksim was located.
Yorksim, with slicked-back hair, wearing an exquisite monocle, and dressed in a lavish suit, stepped out from the Captain’s Quarters.
Under everyone’s gaze, he stood on a metal disc and took off from the ship, flying toward the Sea Monsters in front of the half-body statue.
He was about to speak, using Sound Wave Magic to amplify his voice to the surrounding Wizards when a rumble of thunder interrupted his speech.
“Boom…”
The sullen and violent thunder came from the Far North.
Yorksim looked towards the northern sky.
At some point, a Dark Cloud that obscured a small portion of the sky had formed there.
Apart from this cloud, the rest were white, and the weather was very clear, with no sign of impending rain.
Anyone could tell that the Dark Cloud was filled with eeriness, and it was likely the work of the Deep Sea Branch.
It was flickering with lightning, with thunder rolling continuously, like an angry Titan with a massive hammer drawing closer with each step.
Even a single glance gave onlookers the illusion of thunder and lightning befalling them, a Heavy Rainstorm sweeping across the entire area.
Quite a few Wizards instinctively reinforced their shield Spells, enveloping themselves with multiple layers of protective light.
The half-body statue on the sea surface slightly turned its head, gazing at the Dark Clouds to the north.
“Squeak…”
The distinctive shrill voice of Sea Monsters came from the mouth of the statue.
Upon hearing this, Yorksim’s expression subtly changed, and his hovering figure paused.
“Squeak, squeak…”
The half-body statue seemed to issue an order to the Sea Monsters before it.
The Sea Monsters that had been waiting on the water surface for Yorksim dived back into the sea following the rotating whirlpools.
“Squeak…” The half-body statue looked at Yorksim.
Yorksim frowned tightly, his complexion turning slightly darker, evidently reluctant as he gave a slight nod.
He addressed the Wizards on the surrounding boats,
“Ladies and Gentlemen, a storm is approaching on the sea surface, but the foul weather will not affect our deal with the Sea Monsters. Now, please follow me into the water; under the protection of Sea Monster Magic, we will move to the seabed to conduct our trade.”
A buzz of conversation rose from the fleet.
The Wizards who had just been admiring the half-body statue of the Sea Monster Queen were now doubting her ability to withstand the storm.
Yorksim’s expression darkened a few shades, raising his voice as he shouted,
“Ladies and Gentlemen! The Sea Monster Queen changing the trade location to the seabed is not only to ensure the smooth completion of the deal but also to demonstrate her mighty power to us. As long as we sink to the bottom, no matter how big the waves or the storm, they will not affect our trade…”
Before Yorksim could finish his sentence, a gigantic whirlpool that radiated across the entire Subsea No.13 appeared on the sea surface.
Accompanying it was the appearance of the “Deep Sea Banishment Spell’s” dark green radiance.
This radiance, filled with robust Deep Sea Magic Power, quickly spread over the sea surface, blocking the spell casting ability of all Wizards.
Many Wizards began to cry out in terror or curse Yorksim when they discovered they could no longer fly or teleport.
Yorksim himself wore a dark expression, his spell casting abilities also locked by the “Deep Sea Banishment Spell.”
The Metal Disc beneath his feet lost power and tumbled down towards the whirlpool below.
