Chapter 1234: 393. Jay’s Fall_2
As a longstanding wizard force within the Ulnas Circle, the Pure Light Court is generally not associated with the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
In addition, the Pure Light Court is very dominant, and failing to detect something conclusive from a Light Wizard could likely provoke retaliation from the Court.
For these two reasons, to date, the glass ball that detects the presence of the Metal Ancestor Dragon has never been used on a Light Wizard. noveldrama
Selena was probably the first in the Ulnas Circle to use the glass ball to detect a Light Wizard, and she targeted an eighth Circle wizard right off the bat, which was incredibly bold.
The results not only gave Lonco a big scare, but Jay Spade himself entered a state of complete petrification, never anticipating that he would be ensnared by a detection device.
How dare Selena detect him!
...
Wasn’t she afraid of overplaying her hand and implicating herself?
Jay Spade couldn’t understand why the detection device could find the scent of the Metal Ancestor Dragon when he had thoroughly protected the iron box with Pure Light Magic.
“Hehe,” Noland Lee chuckled from the shadows.
Sorry about that.
That detection bead was fake; it only emitted a gray glow.
Whether the detection tool was real or fake didn’t actually matter, because Jay Spade definitely had the essence of the Metal Ancestor Dragon on him.
In the subsequent steps to prove his innocence, the Department of Magic would surely use more powerful, more precise detection tools, to affirm Jay Spade’s “innocence.”
Under such circumstances, even if Jay Spade used Pure Light Magic to protect the iron box, his secrets would still be revealed.
By then, who would care about a detection tool that had been tampered with by him, Noland Lee?
People would only focus on the collusion between the Pure Light Court and the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
“Splash—”
The water surged.
A solemn team emerged from the miniature ocean.
The arrivals were officially the Magic Department Commissioner specialists responsible for tracking the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
They ordered Jay Spade to cease all resistance and accompany them to the Department of Magic for interrogation.
Jay Spade’s eyes filled with panic, he blustered through a few harsh words, then the Department of Magic sealed his mouth and placed him in magic shackles.
Selena lifted the restraining magic array inside the house.
The magic chains on Jay Spade disappeared, replaced by a Soul Stagnation collar and bracelets that restricted the use of mana and other such items.
After the Department of Magic’s commissioners escorted Jay Spade away, Selena nonchalantly retrieved the glass ball, crossed her arms, and calmly looked at her brother.
Lonco shrank his neck, apologetically saying,
“Er… sorry, Selena. I didn’t know that guy Jay Spade was in cahoots with the Metal Ancestor Dragon.”
“Huh,” Selena chuckled softly,
“Have you really never used the beads issued by the Department of Magic to detect a Light Wizard?”
Lonco sheepishly grinned,
“Hehe, I felt it was a bit offensive, so I never thought about detecting Jay Spade.”
“Well, now you’ve learned your lesson, with a formidable enemy at hand, do not easily trust anyone.”
Selena said, snapping her fingers.
Several magic servants formed from sea water drifted out of the miniature ocean, each enveloping a human in slumber, who were indeed the “missing” Light Wizards.
“Take them away, Lonco, to the Academy’s prison cells.”
Selena said nonchalantly,
“I’ve cast a ‘Sleep Curse’ on them; they’ll probably need a couple of days to wake up from their slumber.”
Lonco took control of the magic servants, staring at the sleeping figures in contemplation:
“Are these four Light Wizards also connected to the Metal Ancestor Dragon?”
Selena recalled the explanation Noland Lee had given her, speaking slowly:
“How should I put it? It’s both related and unrelated. Some of them have confessed that Jay Spade’s layer deeply collaborated with a Metal System Wizard from the Horale Gathering.”
“The Horale Gathering…” Lonco’s expression slightly changed.
Selena nodded her chin:
“Yes, that wizard force listed in the catalog of evil, the lap dog of the Metal Ancestor Dragon. After receiving the information, I immediately applied for detection tools from the Department of Magic, waiting for Jay Spade to come and demand the person. I didn’t expect that the detection tools would actually work.”
As Selena spoke, her tone was filled with a surprising amount of exclamation.
Lonco touched his head, now he understood why his sister had prepared a detection tool in advance—apparently, these Light Wizards had sold out their own leader.
However, on second thought, imprisoning Light Wizards, interrogating Light Wizards, these series of actions didn’t seem like something Selena would do…
Lonco looked at Selena with a peculiar gaze, opened his mouth, wanting to ask about the situation, but ultimately swallowed his words.
He silently took the unconscious Light Wizards away, planning to find a chance to send them back reasonably.
No need to worry about those four Light Wizards revealing Noland’s Maze Space.
Before they were brought out from the Sub-Dimensional Plane by Noland, he had already made them drink the Oblivion Potion, making them forget their vacation experience in the Maze Space.
After Lonco left, Selena breathed a sigh of relief, finally ending a mess, feeling much lighter.
After today, Jay Spade will become a stain on the whole Pure Light Court, and more and more Light Wizards will become subjects of scrutiny by the Department of Magic.
According to Noland’s not so conservative estimate, not a single Light Wizard of the Eighth Circle and above could escape, all linked to the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
Selena did not quite believe Noland’s words, but thinking about his confidence when he said them, coupled with witnessing Jay Spade being taken away by the Department of Magic, her doubts were immediately diluted by the facts.
“How are you so sure that Jay Spade would be detected for the Metal Ancestor Dragon’s aura?” Selena asked Noland via “Mind Induction” afterward.
“Ah, that’s of course because I had already started collaborating with the Department of Magic,” Noland responded.
“When did this happen, how come I didn’t know?” Selena asked.
“That’s a secret.”
“Alright then.” Selena brushed her hair from her forehead, ending the conversation.
Noland claiming he had started collaborating with the Department of Magic was not something he made up.
The Assassin Angel had analyzed that the White Ancestral Dragon Nyrephale and the “Wizard” Plane Core should be allies, using and helping each other.
In the World of Wizards, the Department of Magic would be a subsidiary of the “Wizard” Plane Core.
By hindering the Metal Ancestor Dragon’s expansion of power, weren’t Noland and the Assassin Angel cooperating with the “Wizard” Plane Core and Nyrephale?
In this sense, Noland’s claim of collaborating with the Department of Magic first was plausible.
But to explain in detail to Selena would inevitably involve the Assassin Angel, so Noland could only temporarily shelved it for now.
In the following days, Noland watched the reports of the Ulnas Circle every day.
As expected, a major investigation against the Pure Light Court began.
Since the Pure Light Court had been high-handed and offended many, this investigation saw many high points in its initial phase.
First, someone filed a real name complaint against certain Seven-Ring and Eighth Ring wizards of the Pure Light Court for harboring criminals, followed by someone submitting incredibly detailed lawsuit documents, accusing the Pure Light Court of a passive attitude in handling criminal affairs.
Unknowingly, the investigation into whether the Pure Light Court had colluded with the Metal Ancestor Dragon turned into a grand wave of national denunciation against the Pure Light Court.
The world has long suffered the Pure Light Court… This was Noland’s direct feeling after reading the news reports.
The reaction of the Pure Light Court was also within Noland’s expectations.
The Pure Light Court actively accepted the investigation from the Department of Magic and had all Light Wizards undergo magic detection.
The results of the detection could be guessed without much thought, no Light Wizard was found to have the aura of the Metal Ancestor Dragon.
Those Eighth Circle and above Light Wizards, although they were transferring part of their souls to the Synthetic Human Main Control Chip, as long as they didn’t carry iron boxes, their connection with the Metal Ancestor Dragon would not be discovered.
Only Jay Spade, the complete fool, was caught by Noland with his premeditated moves, meeting Selena while carrying an iron box, becoming the only Light Wizard nailed to the pillar of shame.
