Chapter 1322: 430. Angel Crystals_2
Noland Lee noticed that there were quite a few strange things in the brains of the members of the Archangel Group.
Part of it was the common brain chips, which were placed inside built-in readers in the brain.
Another part was some kind of living creature, tiny like grains of rice, that wriggled like maggots.
The electronic brain, consisting of brain chips and chip readers, was assisting the crew’s human brain in processing data. What then was the purpose of these granular living organisms?
Noland Lee furrowed his brow and muttered to himself,
“Could this be the Magic Brain Worm? But, a single Magic Brain Worm is enough to control a human. Why would the Archangel Group members have so many Magic Brain Worms in their brains?”
...
Noland Lee realized this might be something new he had never encountered before.
He activated the spell “Insight Creatures,” which could see through flesh and bones, and targeted it at the heads of the Archangel Group members to cast a detection spell.
The energy fluctuations of the detection spell were shielded by the “Veil of Different Worlds,” normally undetectable to anyone.
Strangely, at the moment the detection spell took effect, the granular things in the Archangel Group members’ brains trembled slightly, seemingly reacting to the detection spell.
Noland Lee’s gaze sharpened as he noticed this nearly imperceptible activity.
He did not immediately cast another detection spell to verify if what he had just seen was an illusion but instead carefully read the deconstruction result in his mind.
“You have activated ‘Seeing the Subtle.’”
“The spell was successfully launched.”
“You have obtained information related to ‘Angel Crystals.’”
Noland Lee raised an eyebrow.
It turned out that the grain-like substance, similar to maggots, was not of flesh and blood but rather a type of tiny crystal with life-like characteristics.
The deconstruction result stated as follows:
“Angel Crystals, quality unknown, approximately 300,000 particles, composition and origin unknown, specific function unclear, suspected to enhance the holder’s binding and control over Artificial Angels.” noveldrama
Noland Lee read through the deconstruction result and shook his head slightly, remarking,
“I really miss the ability of Active Deconstruction. The results from Active Deconstruction would certainly be more detailed than this detection spell. I heard from the Scroll Angel that It plans to deconstruct life using Active Deconstruction. I wonder if It managed it…”
Noland Lee suppressed his wandering thoughts and quickly pondered.
He had a premonition that if he wanted to rescue the Kill the Angel from the Main Brain Controller, he might need to use these things called “Angel Crystals.”
Moreover, he felt it necessary to employ Passive Deconstruction to obtain detailed information about these crystals.
“Boom…”
A muffled sound came from the Magic Screen, and Noland Lee turned to look.
Indeed, the Players were highly efficient.
Without Noland Lee’s involvement, they had broken through the battleship’s shield and external armor of the Archangel Group and were now engaging with the armed crew inside.
Noland Lee pondered for a few seconds and a plan formed in his mind.
After patiently waiting for a minute, the battle within the ship grew intense, and almost every cabin saw Players clashing with the armed crew.
Interestingly, although the Players were still wearing Power Armor, they had discarded technological attack weapons such as Burst Gun, Flamethrower, and personal railguns.
All of them were using Magic against their enemies.
Spells like Thunder Spear, Thunder Fork, Lightning Bundle, fireball, Flame Burst, and Magma were thrown at the enemies’ faces as if they were free.
While casting spells, the Players also added a theatrical flair to their actions.
“Take this, mighty divine dragon!”
“Whoosh~~” A Flame Pillar surged forth.
“Here comes a palm thunder!”
“Crack—” Lightning shot out from the palm, piercing an armed crew member.
“Watch closely, this slice will be stylish!”
“Whoosh—” A wielder of a giant scythe, a Bone specter, swept across the battlefield.
A teenage boy made hand signs with both hands.
After completing the signs, he declared word by word,
“Sand! Storm! Funeral!”
Regrettably, despite his impressive demeanor, the earth spell he could use was only three-circled. At most, it could wrap an enemy in sand and soil, squeezing them until they crackled.
Seeing his grandly prepared move barely controlling a single enemy, the boy couldn’t help feeling embarrassed, eliciting laughter from fellow Players nearby.
The Players were all laughs and jokes, completely opposite to the tense atmosphere of the battle.
Their physical movements and lines didn’t quite match the concept of “Magic.”
However, Noland Lee didn’t mind this.
As Players, having fun was all that mattered.
Mixing different elements and using them according to their own interpretations was one of the Players’ distinctive traits.
After Noland Lee heard from the crew that reinforcements were soon arriving, he completely disengaged from the battle.
Using the spell markers on the ship as anchors, he temporarily created an energy body duplicate for easier movement on the ship.
Seizing the moment when no one noticed a corner of the battlefield, Noland Lee took control of a severely wounded fleet commander.
Using “Veil of Different Worlds,” he concealed their figures, raised his hand, and delivered a karate chop that severed the man’s life-force, successfully triggering Passive Deconstruction.
Reading the deconstruction result had to be postponed.
Because Noland Lee noticed that after the squad leader’s death, the Angel Crystals in his brain quickly started turning into dust.
At the same time, the squad leader’s head shrank like a deflated balloon, as fine sand and gravel streamed out of his ears and nostrils.
