Time passed within the binding of the Sub-dimension Core.
Noland Lee split a part of his focus and used the Spell Mark protected by the “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation)” to remotely observe the situation of Nabby and his two companions.
...
He used an invisible Mechanos to inscribe mysterious patterns on the walls at the edge of the maze, leading the trio’s attention away from the center of the maze to the wrong location.
This tactic was clearly effective, buying Noland Lee some precious time, but it wasn’t long before voices of confusion arose among Nabby’s group.
“Have we been led astray by that mysterious entity?”
Benjamin Jelani suddenly interrupted his companions’ discussion, interjecting,
“The strength of that mysterious entity is obviously not high, estimated unable to confront the three of us head-on. Therefore, for it, the most crucial thing is to buy time by any means.”
Looking at Clint “Windhawk” and Nabby, who seemed to be coming to a realization, Benjamin Jelani continued,
“Entrances to sub-dimensional planes like this, appearing in the form of mazes, whoever first gets through the maze and grabs the core item at the exit will be the ultimate winner. Isn’t wasting time here studying meaningless mysterious patterns exactly what that mysterious entity would want to see?”
Nabby examined the patterns on the wall,
“Are you saying these were deliberately laid out by that mysterious entity?”
“Exactly,” Benjamin Jelani, controlling his body, raised his arm and heavily smashed it against the wall patterns, saying angrily,
“We have most likely fallen into the trap of that mysterious entity.”
Finally, they were coming around. It seemed even the minds of Transcendent Wizards were efficient… Noland Lee watched all this from the shadows.
He shifted his Magic Vision perspective to the center of the maze.
The wall representing the maze exit was now concealed by the “Veil of Different Worlds (Imitation),” leaving a gap that one could pass through.
This gap formed a perfect match with the surrounding walls, together creating a corridor.
If one did not know beforehand that the maze’s exit was at this spot, it would be impossible for anyone to guess that there had once been a wall here.
Through Magic Vision, Nabby’s trio began moving towards the center of the maze, trying to validate their earlier guess about the maze’s exit.
Upon arriving near the “vanished wall structure,” Clint “Windhawk” used a column of air to confirm they were indeed at the very center of the maze.
But aside from the walls and stone surfaces, there was nothing else.
There was no sign of a typical maze exit, nor any shimmering, seemingly significant objects.
“Was my speculation wrong?” said Benjamin Jelani, his astonishment tinged with frustration,
“Is the actual exit of the maze really located on the wall at the maze’s edge?”
Numerous air columns appeared on Clint “Windhawk’s” mask.
These columns extended in all directions along the maze corridors.
Every corner of the maze bore traces of the air columns.
As a Transcendent Wizard, even though he was merely a Magic Avatar, Clint “Windhawk” easily explored the entire maze. noveldrama
However, what he didn’t know was that his columns of air brushed past Denise Green and Selena several times without ever detecting their presence.
“I haven’t found anything,” said Clint “Windhawk” expressionlessly,
“There are no traces of others in the entire maze besides the three of us. That mysterious entity has either already left or has a high level of proficiency in Illusion Domain.”
Benjamin Jelani looked towards Nabby and asked,
“Can’t you tell us something about the origin of that entity? Without any clues, we’ll be trapped here, awaiting the energy from the ceremony in reality to be completely consumed before we can return. If that’s the case, according to the contract we signed, you’ll have to cover all the losses of this adventure and refund the remuneration Clint “Windhawk” and I were paid upfront.”
Nabby couldn’t afford to do that.
He was able to bring Clint and Benjamin into the maze solely because of his own Blood Magic.
His Blood Magic couldn’t reveal the identity of the mysterious entity, even though he himself didn’t know much.
Just as Benjamin Jelani was about to press further, Clint “Windhawk” had some thoughts.
“Gentlemen, are you aware of the recent events at the Pure Light Court?” Clint “Windhawk” asked, manipulating the air columns.
Nabby seemed a bit clueless, he had been indulging in consuming blood lately and hadn’t paid much attention to the outside world.
Benjamin Jelani, after a moment of recollection, said,
“Are you referring to the important item that got lost in the Pure Light Court in Revival City two months ago?”
Clint “Windhawk” nodded,
“It’s said that it’s not that simple. I heard that a batch of Soul Gems was lost. It seems that a secretive thief slipped into the Court’s stronghold in Revival City and silently stole that case of gems.”
Benjamin Jelani glanced around as several electric snakes shot out from his mask, circling his head as they danced,
“Are you suggesting that the person who stole the Soul Gems is the mysterious entity that led us into this maze? Can it really be such a coincidence?”
At first, Nabby didn’t take it seriously.
But as he reflected on what he knew, he suddenly realized that it might not be impossible.
The first time he met the mysterious entity was in a special space within the “Bustling Tunnel”.
