Chapter 939

Chapter 939: 293. First-mover advantage

Noland Lee figured out the situation and realized he had been overthinking.

The information he obtained about the five magic relics, though neatly corresponding to the abstract concepts of “time,” “space,” “self,” “flesh,” and “soul,” wasn’t intentionally arranged by Professor Lamp.

In fact, a large proportion of the discovered magic relics among those that have been found are related to these five concepts.

Had Noland consulted anyone else for information about the magic relics, it was highly probable he would have received information related to these same five concepts.

Beyond the magic relics associated with these five concepts, there were several other common types of magic relics that Denise Green also informed Noland about.

For example, those related to the concept of “death.”

...

The most famous of these is the “Land of Death Chord,” a magic relic filled with the sound of death. Anyone unable to withstand the Death Chord is forcibly transformed into undead spirits.

Should the Tatis Empire be overrun by the Undead Cult, then, according to the Wizard Advancement Association’s understanding, the Tatis region invaded by undead spirits would likely be exiled by the natural world, forming a new magic relic.

It is said that many of the chief sorcerers within the Wizard Council of Ulnas Circle are quite eager to see the Tatis region get exiled…

Noland couldn’t bother himself with so much, and thought that Tatis and the Pillar of Ley Lines should worry about this matter instead.

Late at night, just after Noland had returned to Island 33 through the Miniature Ocean, he detected a disturbance from the Mental Level.

“Crack…”

A faint sound of crystal shattering echoed in Noland’s heart, putting him on alert.

This was the noise made by a magic crystal being crushed.

And this fingertip-sized crystal was the one Noland had Selena send to Hadley Grant a few days ago.

After teleporting to the Fifth Underground Level, Noland did not enter the bedroom on the fifth floor above ground but went to the Underground Layer 2 instead.

He had to hurry and check on Hadley’s situation first, so there was no time to sleep just yet.

The lights were bright on the second underground layer, where Nolin was busily operating a Mechanos around the device atop the Craftsman Table.

“Sir?” Nolin briefly looked over at Noland Lee, who had descended beside the table.

“Carry on with your work, Nolin. I’m going to stay here for a while to take care of some matters,” Noland waved his hand, not wanting to disturb her.

“Alright, sir,” Nolin replied, pushing her glasses up on the bridge of her nose and burying herself in her work.

Noland pulled a chair over and sat down near the Craftsman Table.

He fiddled within his mind a bit and brought up the list of “Tracking Marks.”

Inside the magic crystal that he had Selena pass to Hadley was one of these “Tracking Marks.”

Although the mark was destroyed when the crystal broke, this did not prevent Noland from observing Hadley’s situation.

He had placed several “Tracking Marks” near Hadley’s magic yacht and shop in advance.

Now, these spell marks were put to use.

Noland activated them one by one, casting “Mind View.”

Through the “Tracking Mark (92)” magical vision, Noland saw Hadley’s figure.

This spell mark was located on the sea surface several kilometers east of the Suman Archipelago Pier, directly facing Hadley’s magic yacht.

The moment Noland activated it, a magic yacht was just leaving the port, slowly sailing on the night sea.

“This is Hadley’s magic yacht. Counting the days, Hadley should be out to treasure hunt today, so did he encounter his lurking enemies on the boat?”

Noland narrowed his eyes slightly and cast a Deconstruction spell on several fleeting figures inside the porthole.

Consuming Energy Points and obtaining the Deconstruction Results, Noland immediately closed “Mind View” to avoid alerting the people inside.

“The wizard from the Pangula Family named Ditucar Fegen, from the Fagen Lineage, likely doesn’t have inheritance rights as a family wizard.

“Barry is a member of the ‘Larolon Rockbone.’ He and Ditucar plotted together to interrogate Hadley.

“The one giving orders to Barry and Ditucar is… Dilise Stone…

“And who is this Dilise Stone?”

Noland frowned slightly, patiently reviewing all of the Memory Fragments.

The full story came to light in that moment.

Noland not only understood what Ditucar and Barry wanted to do but also who among the ‘Larolon Rockbone’ was responsible for matters related to the Deep Sea Branch.

To put it simply:

Dilise Stone, an important member of ‘Larolon Rockbone,’ is one of the eight ‘Rock Bone Pillars’ that make up the organization. noveldrama

Her status is equivalent to that of Selena within the Deep Sea Branch.
