Chapter 1067: 334. No longer human
“Omar Goddard, have your soul and Extraordinary Traits finished transferring?”
Noland Lee had exchanged names with the other during their conversations in the past few days.
He could now directly address the other by his prestigious name, and in turn, the other had learned Noland Lee’s name.
“Just finished not long ago, Jarvis.”
The voice of Omar Goddard floated out from the Pendant and entered Noland Lee’s ears.
His tone was filled with joy, relief, and a bit of bitterness over his tragic past.
...
“The Tadis Emperor controlled my intellect for a century, enslaving my willpower, manipulating my mind, all while using the Pollution Zone as a threat to force me to surrender my Extraordinary Traits.”
Omar Goddard took a deep breath, sighing as if a weight had been lifted:
“I am finally free. I can feel life flowing within me, my organs are reviving. It won’t be long before a new intellect is reformed, and I will have my body once again. How long has it been since I’ve felt such fullness and freedom.”
After expressing his emotions, Omar Goddard then asked:
“Are you sure you don’t need me to break the ‘death’ shackles for you?
“Although I’m not very keen to admit that I am an extraordinary creature created by the Plane Core, I can indeed sense the Titan Court calling to me right now.” noveldrama
“It wanders in a place very far from the Inner Cosmos, feeble and frail, as if it might lose contact with me at any moment.”
“It’s urgently craving the Radiance of the Fire of St. Dillan, and under this condition, I could negotiate with it for the authority to arrange fate shackles for a life form.”
Whether to let Omar Goddard arrange the “proliferation” shackles for him…
This question had been repeatedly pondered by Noland Lee ever since his chat with the Assassin Angel.
His answer hadn’t changed:
“Not for now, Omar Goddard, I want to try the other two methods the Assassin Angel mentioned, even though He hasn’t yet told me what they are.”
Omar Goddard said:
“Alright, Jarvis, good luck to you, and I’ll remember your kindness. If I can figure out what the Assassin Angel is referring to, I will certainly tell you.”
The “other two methods” mentioned by the Assassin Angel might be quite unconventional.
Noland Lee and Omar Goddard had discussed this multiple times, without reaching any conclusion.
One relatively easy method to think of was “Corpse Dissolution,” which is “feigned death.”
Were the “death” shackles not meant to sever Noland Lee?
Well then, Noland Lee would sever himself first, violently removing this shackle, and then resurrect somewhere outside the Inner Cosmos.
For instance, Professor Erica’s Court of Silence, or some other comparatively safe Sub-Dimensional Plane.
As long as the forces of destiny from the Inner Cosmos don’t penetrate into the Sub-Dimensional Plane and reapply the “death” shackles to Noland Lee, then this first shackle would be considered broken.
This method was inspired by the Transcendent Wizards who, after entering the Sub-Dimensional Plane, chose to remain hidden there.
However, this method is extremely risky, and the mere hurdle of “safely feigning death” already posed a significant challenge to Noland Lee.
For such a puzzling issue with no immediate leads, Noland Lee could only set it aside and focus on completing the Task the Assassin Angel had given him.
Of course, before that, Noland Lee still desired to uncover the secrets of the Pure Light Court.
“Omar Goddard, I’d like to ask for your help. Can you now exert influence on the ‘Bustling Tunnel’?” Noland Lee inquired.
“I can, but to a very limited extent,” Omar Goddard said:
“Oh, by the way, I forgot to tell you. I now understand the origin of this Pollution Zone.”
“Hmm? What do you mean?” Noland Lee became interested.
Omar Goddard explained:
“The precursor of this Pollution Zone was a ‘Star-Breaking Beast’ that measured over 500,000 kilometers in diameter. This space creature, drifting in Cosmic Space, would use its own body to smash planets, then absorbing the broken chunks as nourishment.”
How big was it? 500,000 kilometers???… Noland Lee’s mind was filled with question marks.
If the Pollution Zone were allowed to expand unchecked, wouldn’t it be capable of crushing the Kashel Continent?
Ah, no wonder, it was no wonder the Wizard Advancement Association was so desperate to find a way to stop the expansion of the Pollution Zone.
Inside the Wizard Advancement Association, there must have been quite a few who had recognized where the Pollution Zone came from.
They knew full well that if they couldn’t stop the expansion of the Pollution Zone, the Kashel Continent and the Ulnas Circle being devoured by the Zone was only a matter of time.
Tut tut tut, they really had managed to keep the news so tightly sealed.
Now, the importance of the Thundercloud in stopping the expansion of the Pollution Zone was much greater than Noland Lee had imagined.
In contemplation, Noland Lee asked:
“Then why did Blood Binder Zudak’s Resurrection Space end up inside this Star-Breaking Beast?”
“That’s unknowable,” Omar Goddard pondered for a moment:
“Perhaps the Dark Divine Cult captured this Star-Breaking Beast, killed it, and placed the Resurrection Space of Blood Binder Zudak inside its corpse.
“The noise we heard inside the Pollution Zone comes from its Core District, that is, its cerebral hillock. The source of the noise is now the Ceremony Site that connects to Outer Space. Many Grey Wizards are guarding the place.”
“It sounds like you know much more about the ‘Bustling Tunnel’ than the Ulnas Circle, even figured out the whereabouts of the Grey Wizards…”
Thinking it over, Noland Lee said:
“Then, can you control the outer shell of the Pollution Zone? The Pure Light Court is conducting Magic Experiments on the shell, and I would like to stir some chaos, forcing the person in charge of the experiments to show themselves.”
