V3 Chapter 70
Booooooom!!
With a loud explosion, the magic of Wind Wolf King hit Cian’s Ice walls.
The first wall was instantly destroyed, while almost destroying the second wall. Still, the last Ice wall was standing. As expected of Ice God Magic, completely different from ordinary Ice magic, it was still able to defend against a Monster King’s attack. Then, an electric spark flashed across Cian's eyes, and his body emitted plasma sparks. His body then disappeared, and a lightning bolt streaked across the air.
At that moment the Wind Wolf King was stunned; it didn’t expect that after using such powerful magic, the enemy before it would still be alive.
How come the enemy could even use Ice magic?!
Fire and Lightning, and now, Ice Magic?
Is this even possible?!
The Wind Wolf King lamented in distress from the abnormality of his opponent. He had never fought against someone like him before and just couldn’t understand what is going on now. Then, his eyes gleamed brightly as he saw a lightning-like bolt streaked in the air, and his eyes widened.
In a flash, the Wolf King tried to retreat but it was already too late.
Cian was already in front of him, the black sword in his hand covered by bright lightning sparks seemed to howl as it flew toward him. The Wind Wolf King hurriedly slashed down its claws on top of his head in counter. But the black sword suddenly changed its speed mid trajectory.
Claaang!!
The black sword and the claws clashed in the air, bright sparks flashed between them. Cian pulled his free hand, clenched his fist, and flames around his arm. Then, with a loud roar, he throws a punch on the exposed abdomen.
“Gyeek!”
The Wind Wolf King let out a loud, painful cry as his fist burrowed on its body, the electric sparks increasing the damage as it runs through the giant beast. But it had not been blasted away as Cian had expected.
The Wind Wolf King’s strength and toughness were incredibly perverse.
"Damn it!"
Seeing this, Cian hurriedly jumped back and used [Earth Burrow] to immediately disappear from his position.
A second after, the Wind Wolf King smashed his claws in anger, but his opponent had already disappeared.
The Wolf King angrily roared in frustration, but then a shadow appeared behind him and slashed across its back.
“For Master, die!!”
Regina had appeared with a fierce expression and slashed her two daggers on the monster’s back four to five times in just a blink of an eye.
Blood spurted, making an incredibly red arc in the air. The Wind Wolf King cried out again, and furiously swept his arms, however, just like before, his opponent had disappeared.
“Roooooaaar!!!”
Frustrated and hurt, the Wind Wolf King’s eyes become even redder as if he had just smoked cocaine. It then let out wind blades in a random direction, cutting everything apart. Even the wind wolves in the area were not spared, as they lay dying.
Regina who had appeared a few meters away was startled by the random attacks. But it was too late, she couldn’t dodge. She can only grit her teeth. The sharp wind of blades was shooting towards her. However, the moment she was about to be hit,
“Jeez, you’re such a handful, Regina. Didn't I tell you stand back?”
A calm voice appeared behind her, two arms encircled around he willow-waist.
“Master,”
Regina was surprised at first, but then she calmed down, her expression softening. An incredible sense of security assaulted her and she felt nothing could hurt her in this world, as long as she was in this embrace.

Cian smiled faintly, and then rotated, his back against the wind blades. Before the wind blades reached them, they disappeared. On the other side, Amadea hurriedly used trees around her to cover her body and dived underground, but still, she was injured by the sudden berserk beast-a large gush from her shoulder could be seen as she settled on the root of the trees.
“Are you okay?”
“Mistress, are you okay?”
Cian together with Regina appeared beside the root she was hiding.
From the root, a small bud blossomed.
“I’m fine,” a voice responded.
“But that monster’s really too hard to deal with. Cian...” she replied.
Though, she was not worried as this is not her real body. Even if she dies, she would just lose one of her branches. However, Cian was different. If she died, she would not be able to protect him. Cian would need to summon her again to appear, but it would need a lot of magic power to do so. During combat, it would be impossible.
Cian furrowed his brows. Normally, he would’ve done it. Fighting this kind of battle is something he would never do. An assassin, when failed at the first strike would need to retreat and consider the mission a failure.
That’s how an assassin should be- it’s no cowardice, for they are no warrior, nor knights that treasure their pride and honor. Survival for them is the greatest mission. Or that should have been the case. At least that's what kind of life he has been living up until now. The principle he had been trying to uphold even in this world.
Yes. Until now.
He needed change. Change is inevitable to face new circumstances. An Assassin lives in the shadow. But the world of the shadow is already impossible for him.
He is not just Cian Cahlo.
He is now the Demon Prince.
Sooner or later, he would stand in the limelight. He can never stay in the shadow for long. Standing in the light, he cannot be an Assassin. He can only be...him.
He might be no warrior, nor a knight, but he also no assassin anymore. At least, not completely an assassin. That’s what he had realized after coming into the Black Lands.
How long is he going to run away?
Why would he run away?
If he wanted to conquer everything, a mere assassin cannot achieve that. He must transcend it. Kill everything that blocks his way, grow stronger in every battle- that’s what the voice is telling him to do. A mere beast cannot stop a King’s advance.
That's why he needed strength. He needed to become stronger. More. And more power.
And the Wolf King can give him that.
It's too strong?
Escape?
No.
For he had yet to completely done everything he could do at this moment. And also, his desire to fight is growing stronger. He's just starting.
He could win this battle, so what is stopping him to do so?
That's right...
What's stopping you?
Your meal is right there, waiting.
Why are you hesitating?
“No need, as I will devour it, and that's I will do."
Cian muttered with a cold voice.
Being flexible is good, like bamboo against strong winds. But there are times when you must stand, and brave the storm like a tall towering Oak that stood defying against the winds and rains and the scorching sun. If you wanted power, you can only take risks. For something that cannot kill him, will surely make him stronger. And he is confident he wouldn't die. There's only a reward- a great reward at the end of this road.
Kill it! That's our ticket to power. Kill it! Eat it! Devour it! That enviable power, make it ours!
“You’ve done enough, Amadea,” he said, caressing the small bud.
“Rest, I will take care of it,”
“Cian,”
“it’s fine…” he grinned.
“I told you so, I don’t have any intention of dying, not the least bit,” he chuckled.
“So you said,”
Cian laughed, “You as well, Regina, you’ve done your part. Now leave the rest to me. You go back to the cave first,” he patted her hair and commanded.
“But Master, I cannot leave you alone, I-”
“Regina, please?”
“... …”
Regina opened her mouth wanting to say something, but no words came out. She bit her lips, and suddenly found the words she so wanted to say, though it hurts her so much; “Am I a burden?”
Looking at her sorrowful expression, Cian chuckled with a warm breath that seemed to caressed her face.
“You misunderstand, love,” he said.
“You are never a burden to me,”
“Then, Master, I can help,”
“I know,” he cut her off.
“But this is my fight Regina, and I’m going all out. I will dawn a form that you might not like, and accept yet. So, until I can steel my heart to tell you the truth for who I truly am, it’s better that you don’t know it yet…I’m sorry,”
“Master, whatever form you take, I will accept it.”
Regina sobbed.
“I love you, I love you no matter what and who you are,”
“I know, and I am happy, Regina… but please, right now, listen to me. We don’t have much time to argue, as I have a beast to slay. So please listen to me… this is also for your own good- go back, and wait for me, my love,” Cian said firmly. He caressed her cheek with a gentle smile, and said, "It won't take up too much time, so wait... please,"
